Hi everyone. My friend, Jen, called me from the hospital. Apparently the new drs who saw her today told her the cyst might be cancer. She is going to have surgery in two weeks when an oncologist can be there. She is done work for at least the next month or two depending on what happens. Next week she is having a bowel (sp?) clean-out. I don't know why b/c she didn't tell me.
One dr, who apparently never went to the class on people skills, told her that it would be better if the baby died now (at 21 weeks) rather than later on :earseek: . ***? Can you believe he actually said that?
She was told that there's a 95% chance that everything will be ok, but after that's dr's comment, she's a mess. She and her DH (my DH's cousin) are heading to her parents' house, and I hope she can relax for a day or two.

I am just praying that everything with both her and the baby is going to be ok.

I've been sucking greenish yellow stuff out of Jimmy's nose all day. I broke down and gave him some decongestant. I just want him to enjoy his first Christmas. He doesn't seem to feel that bad. He's still slamming his head off anything he can find. I can't figure out how that doesn't hurt him.

When my SIL was 38 weeks pregant with her 3rd child they found a lump (part of this story I told a few pages ago) anyway her Dr. was such a *** I can't say it here. He did such a terrible job talking with her about it. 1st he said they would have to abort the pregnancy (hello 38 weeks) he ment induce. (the baby came on his own 8 hours before the induction was schduled.) Then he wanted to go from the delvery room to surgery for a double masectomy. Can you imagine giving birth and lossing your breast all with in 24 hours. I still cry if I think about it. He was such a jerk. (Things didn't happen that way.)

Ugh, your friend will be in my prayers

BTW that baby is in my kicthen right now frosting a christmas cookie and making a terrible mess. (10 years later.) ;)

OMG---lissawynn, I am so sorry about your friend, Jen. That breaks my heart & I will keep her in my prayers. :guilty:

Hillbeans- GREAT pictures! What fun it looks like you all have! You look great.

Well, Santa came to our house last night and delivered a TON. It's embarrassing! And a TON of food too and all stuff I usually grab at Costco (they read my list!). The kids were ecstatic & we were the talk of the neighborhood I guess. Here is one of my world famous too big pictures:

j0igs9.jpg

Well, I didn't go to work today as planned as I still felt cruddy this am. I'm sure that they will dock me a day's pay (fine by me). The kicker to me is the slackers I work with have made comments to others that I just wanted time off for the holidays as things are really busy at work and they knew I was stressed about hosting both Eve and Day of Christmas. Yeah, having 102.+ degree fever and stomach trauma is just so much fun for the holidays!! (Here comes my mean spiritedness - I hope they get it and know what's like!! :maleficen ) Regardless, I'm feeling better today. Sorry if TMI, but longer and longer periods of not being in my bathroom is wonderful!!!

My mom has taken over Christmas Day and my in-laws are still coming tomorrow afternoon, but they are bringing the food (probably take out). So, I just want to pick up a bit around here tonight. So much less stress now that I may actually feel ok for Jace's 1st, and don't have to really host anymore. Only kicker is I was having Jace a special blanket made by one of my co-workers. Since I didn't get to work these last 3 days, I don't have it. I'm bummed that his special Christmas present from Mommy won't be here. At least he'll have Santa's and something my DH bought for him.

Lissawyn: sending positive thoughts out to your friend. What the Dr said is disgusting and incensitive. Hope Jimmy is feeling better by Christmas morning.
SL: Glad you and Lucas had fun at your party. At our place we can't even use the word HOLIDAY anymore - so sad IMHO. I agree w/you about the walkers - they make me nervous.
Gems: hope your bathroom came out sparking clean!!
Justhat: A dog painted in neon pink glitter... :rotfl: Poor pup!
DisKim: Congrats for being on your much needed and deserved break..enjoy!
Hillbeans: Great pics of NYC. You are so brave to go in during the holiday time. It sounds and looks like you had a nice day. I'm curious about Bubba Gump Shrimp too. I've never been.
Alice: Love the pic w/Santa. I also love that you have done stenciling. I had it in my condo before I met DH and we bought this house.

Count me in as another Gauntlet lover!! I never miss a season of challenges or RW. DH thinks I'm nuts! He can't understand how at 34 I am still enjoying it. Truth be told, I'm a reality tv junkie!! But now I just don't have the time for much anymore - TGFTivo.

It is so funny to see Jace smile now with those little chicklet teeth! LOL!!! I'll try and get a photo over the holidays to post. They aren't fully up yet, but too cute regardless.

Have a wonderful holiday all!! I better go get cleaning!

Another watcher of the Gauntlet ( I caught it last Monday anyway)----so glad to see my man Timmy- he seems like a fairly normal guy and I remember watching his season of Road Rules with intensity! (same with Mark) Don't know half of the rookie team, since I'm guessing they've been on the more recent road rules/real world. I haven't watched any RR episodes in several years. And thank goodness Mike/Coral/Veronica/Rachel sat out this season. I was beginning to think that reality TV competition was their full time job.

I hope you continue to feel better joats- and I bet Jace won't notice if he gets his blankie a day or two late. ;) ;)

Yeah, I did that stenciling quite some time ago. I had bought wallpaper after we bought the house, and then it wouldn't stick to the walls! Ihave old, uneven plaster walls and it just looked hideous, so I ripped it down after a year and did the painting. Our living room has always been patriotic, even before DH got called up. Thank you for the compliment! Off to go gather up a bunch of stuff for the Goodwill before umpteen thousand Christmas toys take over my house. Gotta get rid of some old stuff first!

Hillary - what great pictures! Now that I see your DH I think Kevin is his spitting image. But Liam looks more like you. And you are VERY photogenic and like Tkyes said you look adorable in that hat! Looks like you had a fun time :bitelip:

Alice28 - Your kids are just too adorable!!! I too, noticed that stenciling and admired it. And your ticker is looking good! DH will be home before you know it!

Justthat - how are you feeling? Did you already get a due date? I think I missed it.

joats - hope you're feeling better by the time you see this! Happy to see you and alice are gauntlet fans too. :goodvibes

lissawynn - I am sorry to hear about your friend. When my sister was mid way through her preganncy they found a cyst on one of her ovaries and had to do surgery to remove it because of the risk it could rupture. She and the baby did just fine and the baby was born perfect. This was 17 years ago by the way and I am sure they have made some advances since then. I will keep her in my thoughts.

Hope everyone has a good night!

I'm going to say this will be my last post this year since we leave for DC tomorrow and then Disney Sunday and I haven't wrapped up Madison's gifts or packed yet (all that stuff is in DC) so I will be busy, but I'm sure I'll be looking for a break from work so I might be back before we leave.

Robin I love the photo! You guys look so happy, it's a great shot! And I love Molly's expression (and the outfit, looks familiar!).

Hillbeans you've got great photos too. Kevin looks very happy and I bet he had a great time. We were in NYC tonight and didn't even think about passing by the tree. Weird cause we see it every year but neither my mom nor I thought about it.

Loretta, I think my due date is August 28th but I don't go to the OB till 1/18. I called today for an appt and after waiting on hold for about 20 minutes I was told my OB's next opening is 4pm on the 18th, which was fine with me since we're in Disney till 1/1, then my BIL is coming to visit 1/5-1/10, we go to Nashville 1/10-1/11, then Minnesota 1/14-1/16, have to go to something at Madison's school on the 17th, so the 18th works out well. Do they do ultrasounds at the 1st visit? With Madison I wasn't in DC until I was I think 12 or 13 weeks so that was my first appt and they did an ultrasound then, but since this appt I'll only be 8 weeks I wasn't sure if they do them this early. I went to my mom's former OB (he's only a GYN now cause of the insurance costs) when I was in NJ at about 10 weeks and he did an internal exam but that was it. I'm hoping for an ultrasound only because we're thinking of mailing a copy of the picture to our parents to 'tell' them about the new baby. I guess I can always wait, but if I have to wait till the level 2 that might be after I see my mom and I think you'll be able to tell by then.

Joats, I'd love to see Jace with his teeth. I loved Madison's toothless smile, but once those 2 tiny teeth came in it was so cute. I'm glad to hear that you'll have less work to do this weekend too. It will give you a chance to recover a bit move too.

Tonight we saw Pooh Live in NYC and Madison enjoyed it. It was a cute show and the kids got to interact a bit. I was thinking it would be a good intro to our Disney trip and Madison seemed to like the characters more than our weekend trip when she was 19 months. She was a character nut at 6, 9, and 13/14 months, but then at 19 months she was afraid of every character and ride when she got up close. She'd beg to see the characters and after we waited in line she'd cry when it was her turn. Before that she'd cry cause she had to wait in line. Crazy kid!

Anyway, in the event that I hold true to just packing and wrapping (and driving hours!) tomorrow, I hope everyone has a great Christmas and New Years! Enjoy watching your kids get excited on Sunday morning!

Oh my goodness justhat- you are going to be a busy-bee the next few weeks! I had an ultrasound around 15 weeks I think only because the nurse practitioner couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler (but I could feel Molly moving!! so I knew she was OK). Normally the doctor I go to doesn't order the ultrasound until 18 weeks, but I think every practice is different. You will be hearing the heartbeat though! With my first my first appt was at 8-9 weeks, but with #2 & 3 I didn't go until 12 or 13 weeks. They just made sure when I made my appt that I already had some prenatal vitamins and if I had any questions or concerns to call or come in ASAP.

Gee, where DID that outfit come from that Molly has on? :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 Dh liked her jeans. :teeth: My parents gave us a substantial monetary gift last weekend, so I can definitely spend my GymBucks in January. I cannot wait- I am so wanting to get that turtle twirly dress NOW. But I will wait....

I meant to say Hillary, that you and your DH make quite the handsome couple! ::yes::

I will be getting on the DIS all weekend- I'll be the loner loser posting on Christmas Eve and Day. :teeth: I'm trying not to think about DH. And I am contemplating buying myself something for once.......well, I NEED to go buy new bras and undies- I'm NOT going to greet DH with tatty nursing bras and stretched out Jockey briefs. But, I really, really want the Sex and the City series DVD set for myself....I never had HBO, so I rented the series from Netflix and laughed my butt off. Rarely has a TV show captured my attention like that...I LOVE my reality TV, but there are hardly any series out there that I just LOVE anymore. I keep asking myself, "Will I really watch it? Will it just sit on my shelf? It's so much money for myself!" And I KNOW I can't watch it when the kids are up......what do you guys think. I have the extra money right now, and am so quick to spend it on the children or on the house, but rarely do I get myself anything "fun" anymore. I've seen it for $165 at Costco. I think that show floors me because I love seeing all their clothes, shoes, purses, whooping it up in NYC and having a life that is 10 zillion miles away from my own...and yet I relate to some of the storylines, you know?

OK, enough with my babbling. I smell a stinky diaper!!!!!!!

What great pics Hillbeans! I'm glad you had a nice family day :) .

lovely pic with Santa, Robin. You kids look so sweet :flower: . I think you should buy the dvds for yourself. Just tell yourself Santa brought it for you.

Lisawynn,
So sorry about your friend. She will be in my prayers.

T16Gem,
Sorry about your Uncle. He will also be in my prayers.

Justthat,
Have fun in Disney! They don't usually do ultrasounds here until the 12th week or so.

Both my kids ended up at the dr. yesterday. Alex has a repiratory infection and Katie has a double ear infection. They are both on drugs now so I'm hoping I'll get some sleep soon. 3 nights in a row on two hours of sleep is killing me. My house is a pitt and I have two hours to clean before we leave for dh's family's for the day. If I don't clean now I'll be up all night doing it when we get home. Yet, here I sit dissing and procratstinating ;) . Guess I better get a move on.

Merry Christmas everyone  ! I can't wait to see pics of the babies from Christmas morning :flower: .

Merry Christmas everyone!

I wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and say thank you for making the DIS such a great place to come to everyday!

Thanks to everyone for the nice words about my family pictures - I enjoy sharing them so I appreciate the kind words.

Justthat - Have a wonderful time in WDW - How exciting it must be to spend Christmas in the happiest place on Earth!

Alice - Great pics of your kids and Santa - LOL at your Daughter's expression as she's sitting on Santa's lap. So nice to see your kids with big smiles on their face for Christmas!

Vald - Hope the kiddos are feeling better soon - nothing is worse than both of them getting sick at the same time!

Tykes - Thanks for the compliments! I hate having my picture taken, but I figured what the heck. Have a great Christmas - you'll be very busy the next few days.

Loretta/Zalansky - yes, Kevin looks just like his dad and they even have the same mannerism's. Kevin used to have white blond hair and looked a little more like me when he was younger, but it's since turned brown. The baby is getting really light hair also which i'm sure will turn brown when he's older. I compare Liam's baby pics to Kevin's baby pics and sometimes they look so alike i'm really curious if they'll both look so similar in a few years.

Take care everyone - i'm off to the gym, then i've got a few more things to bake before the traveling begins. We'll stop by my mom's grave first, then to my best friend's mom's house to exchange gifts for the kids, then to my Dad's for the big Christmas Eve dinner with my brother's family. Tomorrow will be spent mostly at home, except to go to Christmas mass and to my friend's house for Brunch. Merry Christmas to all!

Hey everyone - merry christmas!

I am currently hiding out upstairs "getting the baby to sleep" as my inlaws are here, along with great grandma and great grandad and DH's brothers kid who is just 23 months old. MIL and FIL are carers for Kyle - it's a long story. He is currently rampaging in my lounge room - I couldn't take anymore after I saw the third meringue being squashed into my carpet! I can hear him yelling now so I am deffinatley staying up here with Shelby! :)

I am also upset that I was bathing Shelby and half the family decided that they would come and watch - it's difficult enough holding that slippery little body at the best of times without an audience! Then Kyle ran into the nursery and FIL chased him and managed to smash a Christmas present that I had made for my mom and dad - I had made a montage of pictures of Shelby and them with her that I had put into a lovely frame - he smashed the glass and completly ruined it - no drama really but I was so looking forward to giving it to my parents tomorrow the worst thing was that he didn't even apologise. I was so upset that I just stayed in our bedroom and pretended that Shelby needed a new nappy......I guess those hormones are still raging! Oh BTW I bought two of the special frames as I was going to make one for DH's mom too but now theres only one frame so I am going to give it to my parents!

Lisawyn- Hugs to your friend - I can't believe how insensitive some people are! My thoughts and prayers are with her.

Hillbeans - I love your pics - you are very photogenic! I think we all look at pictures of ourselves and see things that we think are wrong - I always think I look wonky!! :teeth:

Val - Poor you having both ill at the same time! What a nightmare!

Oh BTW I meant to say to you all that you are a bad influence! I went on the gymboree website the other day......OMG how adorable are some of those outfits.........guess what.......THEY SHIP TO THE UK!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl: so I am going to order some cool stuff for Shelby - how do the sizes come out? big or small?

Oh well I guess I had better make an appearance downstairs as I think that DH will be wondering where I am.

I'm behind again and will have to catch up later.

I just wanted to pop in and say Happy 1st Christmas DIS babies!

Congratulations, justhat!

Jenna started walking this week. Mommy wasn't ready for that. I have a hard enough time keeping up with her as it is.

We are about to leave the in-laws house for home, so I better go and help DH load the car.

Joy, love, and prayers for a blessed holiday season. :)

Gems- how frustrating that little Kyle ruined the picture frame! I can understand why you're hiding out...I've done that a time or two when the in-laws are visiting. :rolleyes1

It's a very quiet Christmas Eve here. The kids are outside playing with neighbor friends. It's really mild weather right now- in the mid 50s! The kids don't even need jackets! :sunny: My parents will be here in a couple of hours for a ravioli dinner.

I would say if anything Gymboree runs a smidge big. It's pretty true to size, but always seemed big on my boys, but just right on Molly. Have fun shopping! The new lines are TO DIE FOR. Like I said, I cannot wait to buy that turtle dress...and a cardigan....and some yellow overalls/romper...maybe some pants...and those tennis shoes!!!!!! :faint:

Merry Christmas! I am trying to get caught up on all the comings and goings before things here get crazy, although yesterday was kind of nutty!

We managed to survive Christmas Eve. We had dinner at my gramma's house. Most of my dad's brothers and sisters were there. So were my cousins, their sig. others, and my sisters. We had a nice time, and they got Jimmy some very cute clothes and toys. We got enough stuff there to last us a while, THEN we went to my mom's. She decided to give us our gifts last night so she did have to take them to my sister's house today. Again, Jimmy got LOTS of toys and clothes. Jim and I also got some nice things. I especially love my flannel sock monkey jammies from Target (I picked them).

Now, we must prepare for Christmas Day. We're going to Jim's grandmother's and my sister's. I have to bake an Italian Love Cake and make a green bean casserole.

I would love to say the holiday has been w/o drama so far, but my MIL manages to make every holiday "special" in some way. I'll give you all the scoop about that tomorrow. I'm "trying" to remember what Christmas is all about and be a good Christian today.

Jimmy is working on a few new teeth. I discovered on on the top and two more on the bottom. No wonder he's been miserable and had a snotty nose!

Alice - PLEASE go and buy yourself the dvds! You DESERVE them. I'm loving that Santa came to your house! The looks on your kids faces is priceless.

Gems - So sorry your gift was broken! Isn't it nice to have ALL of your family members at your house at once!

Val - I almost laughed outloud when I read the part about your kids "being on drugs". :rotfl2: Too funny! I hope they're feeling better soon!

joats - Hope you're feeling better. Having a fever sounds like its was better than being at work.

Sorry if I missed any of you! I'm off to bake and straighten up my house! Have a wonderful Christmas with your families!

Merry Christmas Mommies!

Hope everyone is having a good one so far. We've opened our stockings & everything else is at my mom & dad's, so we're getting ready to head down there!

Have a great day all!

I can't believe Christmas is over. I am tired. Jimmy had a fabulous first Christmas. He got so many toys and clothes I don't know where to go with them. He's got a birthday coming up in a month, and I can't even imagine where we're going to go with any gifts he'll receive. I'll post some pics LATER today of Jimmy opening his gifts, hanging out with his relatives, etc.

My gift from DH (the one stuck in the tree) was a white gold and diamond bracelet. I LOVE it. It's very unusual looking (I'll try to post a pic of that, too.)

Everyone loved their gifts and had a good holiday. I am finally off to bed. I'd like to head out to Target to pick up some Christmas stuff at 50% off. I don't really NEED anything, but it doesn't hurt to look.

I hope you and your families had a wonderful holiday! I can't wait to see the pics and read all about your days!

Can't wait to see the pics lissawynn! My kids HAULED in too. It was obscene. I am ready for bed! Got a call from DH today and that was awesome.

Right now I am pretty po'ed at my MIL. It's a long story, and I don't even want to go into it, I just have to wait for the outcome to happen when DH comes home. OK- SHORT version. And I think I've shared some before. She's helped my BIL/SIL get 4-5 cars/minivans throughout their marriage because they don't have a lot of money and never will. DH and I desperately need a van or SUV, but can't afford 2 car payments right now. DH has asked her privately (she doesn't know I know they talked about it- dumb, I know) to help us. She said she'd think about it, maybe. I have saved enough for a decent down payment, but still can't afford the two payments. She told me today, "Just pay off your other car with your saved money and then you can do it." Not even a hint that she might help. :guilty: Maybe she's just holding her cards close to her chest. It's none of my business.

But it's hard seeing her help my BIL/SIL so much, and seemingly not be willing to even help us a smidge. Especially after this incredibly, incredibly difficult 16 months. :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: I'm sure DH will talk to her and it will work out, but right now I'm feeling upset. Sorry if I sound like a total spoiled brat.

Anyway, post pics tomorrow! I was going to go shopping, but after that conversation wtih MIL, I feel like I should save every single dime I can find.

Hi all!!!

I hope everyone had a good Christmas!

Ours was good, very busy but good.

The sick bug hit our house. Friday, DH took Tyler to the Dr. and found out he has a double ear infection :( Poor kid. He's been up every night since screaming his head off. Christmas Eve and last night DH took him out for a drive and then just brought his car seat in for him to sleep in. He seems to sleep a little better sitting up, less pressure on his ears I would guess. If he still wakes up screaming tonight, we might be going back in. The Dr. told us the antibiotic should be kicking in by now. I just feel so bad for him.

Even with an ear infection he did great though. Of course his schedule was totally thrown off, but he was a trooper.

DH is sick too with a sore throat and sinus issues. I just hope I can stay healthy to take care of them!

Tyler got lots of cute toys and clothes. He really wanted to chew on the curling ribbon.

My exciting gift, my parents gave me an appt. to get my teeth whitened! My mom just had it done and I was oohing and aahing over her great teeth, now I get to have it done. I can't wait!!

We have one more get together tonight and then we are done. It's small and pretty low key, not quite as crazy as some of our other get togethers.

I can't wait to see some Christmas pictures.

Tamie

I hope everyone had a wonderful first Christmas with their babies. Ours was wonderful. We went out for a quiet Christmas Eve dinner. It was nice going out with just the 5 of us (and my mom - she's always with us). Christmas morning was awesome. The kids were so excited. Aidan wasn't too into the idea of presents but he liked his new toys. DH did a good job for me. He got me Ugg boots which I've been dying for, a pair of earrings and a stereo. We went to my MIL's house for dinner. My FIL is not doing well and it made me sad that he was unable to make Christmas dinner (they ordered it even though I offered to make it a thousand times). The kids got way too many toys and my house looks like a complete disaster. I was already out after-Christamas shopping. I'm going to be buying a real tree as a second tree for our dining room starting next year and I just wanted to go out and get some decorations half price. I ended up spending $60 on a bunch of junk I probably shouldn't have bought. Oh well! We're just hanging out today. I might take my mom to see the Producers later. We saw it on Broadway and loved it. Tomorrow, we're meeting my in-laws in Atlantic City and hanging out at the indoor pool all day. Then, they're taking us to dinner with all their comps they've racked up. I'm looking forward to relaxing in the pool with the kids. It will be a treat!

Alice28 - I thought of you yesterday. It must have been so hard celebrating Christmas without DH. I'll be so happy for you when he comes home.

tkyes - I hope everyone feels better!

Lissawynn - I know what you mean - I can't believe Christmas is over either. I was sad yesterday thinking that it was the last "baby's first Christmas" that I'd experience in my life. Have fun shopping today. I'm going to check out NY and Co sales later with my mom. I need some sweaters to go with my cool new boots!
