Hi ladies. Another drive-by from me. That seems like it's all I have time for these days. I am swamped with laundry and attempting to put stuff away. I know that some of DH's belts are missing, inc. one really nice one I bought him this summer. It will be August until I get my house back together.

I have a ton of school stuff to do for this week. Our marking period is over next Tues. and I still have essays to grade. That's the week DH is supposed to start training on new stuff at work and will be doing shift work for about 3 months. I will be crying to you all when he's working 3-11 and I'm alone with Jimmy and Annabel.

I hope you're all well. I have to get back to the wash. I need clean clothes for work. Also, I went to Wal-Mart today and bought myself some HUGE granny panties. My other stuff feels like it's cutting off my circulation b/c my stomach is terribly big. I know you moms will appreciate the humor in my purchase. DH will die when he sees them. :scared:

Night all!

Hi Ladies,

Good Sunday evening - i'm just about ready to hit the hay but I thought i'd check in really fast. We saw MIL this weekend - and had the memorial mass for FIL. It was nice, and then we went out to eat with the rest of the family. The baby slept awful out at MIL's house, so I hope this isn't a sign of things to come when we vacation. He rolled over on his singing "Baby Tad" and it started singing and he was screaming. He also loves having his crib bumper on still and we don't have one out there - he sleeps pressed up against the end of the crib so i'm sure he was missing that. I may have to bring a bumper on our WDW trip?

I have so many ladies to catch up with but I just wanted to say hello. I'm only 4 pages back from when I last checked in on Friday night, so that's not terrible. I also checked my Ebay auction and it's up to $33.50 - WOO HOO! Any money will be WDW spending money. Now I have to find more things to sell!

Oh, GLT - a Roomba is a circular "robot" vaccuum that runs on a charge and vaccuumes under the bed, dressers, hardwood floors, carpet, etc.

I've got to laugh at you ladies with the "backrub" talk - so funny. DH doesn't do that but it cracks me up hearing you all talk about it.

nyprincess and zalansky - Thank you so much for the information on the Mariotts. We are also looking at the Residence Inn Orlando SeaWorld/International Center. It would take a lot less of my mom's points so we would be able to do a short summer stay at Hershey Park as well. We might as well make the most of them!! We are never at the hotel anyway.

Diskim - We stayed at the Marriott World a few years back for one night and the Marriott has a wonderful pool and kiddie pool. It's nice though, and close to WDW. We stayed there on a Priceline bid for I think $88. My only real complaint, and it's not really a complaint, was the parking. You pretty much need to Valet park because the self parking lot is about a mile away - seriously. The hotel had nice restaurants and had a pretty decent mix of business and casual travelers. Enjoy.

Goodnight ladies, talk with you soon (tomorrow).

question from a grandma who cannot remember about new babies!:rotfl:
My husband is in HI now with daughter and SIL and new grandaughter. He e-mailed me saying baby has diaper rash. Daughter puts on thin veil of desitn (sp). Do you guys put it on thick ?(I think I used to , but would not bet on it). Thick or thin? My husband suggested airing out baby.....(I remember doing that)....
that is a good idea, right? just leting baby lie on floor (with blankets of course) and just interact with her...while being aired out, good idea right? DH said new dad has hard time hearing baby cry and cry and cry.

Oh gosh........what will my time there be like...........eeek

Hermosa- I think I would do a thicker layer. There are all sorts of diaper rash creams though- if the desitin isn't working, maybe another brand would. Desitin never helped much for my kids- I liked the Aveeno, or a lot of moms swear by the "buttpaste".

Yes, I would let her air dry too before the diaper goes back on- that seems to help a lot!

:goodvibes

Thanks for all of the get well wishes for Jenna. I think she is finally over the virus. That is one nasty bug.

I would be interested in a V-Day exchange. I can't remember who mentioned it. Let me know if you would like for me to organize one.

Hermosa- Haley is precious. Enjoy your trip! I always put the ointment on thick, especially before bed. Letting her air out would be good.

GLT- Cute party pics. Love the Pablo cake. pirate:

Hillbeans- Good luck with your auction. :thumbsup2

lissawynn- Hang in there. I can't wait to see baby Annabel. :cloud9:

nucpharm- Glad you had a fun "Christmas" with your parents. Happy belated anniversary.

DisKim- Have you posted a pic of your puppy yet? Enjoy the concert.

Robin- Glad the kiddos liked the postcard from Mickey and Minnie. Congrats on your e-bay sales. Go ahead and get the AP- I just got one.

cabmom- I hope you have a smooth transition back to work.

Valerie- Hope you feel better soon.

Tasha- Congrats on the scholarship. Good luck this semester.

Jill & SL- Good luck to you as well.

Loretta- Hope you had a good weekend with your sisters and your dad. Sending more hugs and prayers your way.

justhat- I see nothing wrong with selling duplicate gifts. I returned most of the ones that we received from my MIL. We got our annual set of underwear again this Christmas.

fabumouse- Hope Madeleine feels better soon.

nyprincess- Welcome back. How is your DS doing?

Ginamarie- Yes, it is somewhat of a relief to be done with WAPASADI. I wish we would have received at least something (like a pin) just for playing.

floridafam- Glad Kona is feeling better. I saw a TT today, but it was the same one that I sent you. I'm still looking for you.

Tamie- Have a great time in Mexico.

icebrat- Good to see you. Glad to hear that Tess is doing better. Good luck with school and finding a daycare.

BnBM- I felt the same way about leashes until Jenna started to walk. If we go to WDW in March, then I think I'm going to get her one. She kept trying to run away from us there last week.

joats- Have fun planning your trip.

Jill- How are Meagan and John doing?

Gems- How are you doing?

dizagain- How was your house hunting weekend?

Welcome, pooh4evr and Lisa loves Pooh!

Have a marvelous Monday, everyone! TTFN!

Happy Monday morning! I didn't have a terribly busy weekend, yet I still didn't have any time to post so I'm a little behind. I have kept up with reading, though.

glt - Love the pictures from Laine's bday party!

J&D - I'm glad Jenna is feeling better.

hermosa - I think airing out the baby before putting the diaper back on is a good idea. They should also refrain from using baby wipes to clean the baby and use a wet washcloth instead. As far as diaper cream, I really like A+D.

DisneyMommyMichelle - :wave2:

hillbeans - Sorry Liam wasn't a good sleeper at your MIL's. I hope he does better at WDW.

Tasha - Congrats on the scholarship! Congrats also on coming in 2nd in the wasabi song challenge. I voted, but I don't remember which was it was for. They didn't include the names like they did for the dress challenge. Did you win anything?

DisKim - Enjoy the HS musical concert.

nyprincess - Sorry your DH still isn't feeling well.

val - I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather.

cabmom - Good luck with returning to work.

ginamarie - Sorry your wasabi team didn't make it through.

alice28 - My house is a pit. I finally did a thorough cleaning of the master BR and the kitchen this weekend. I still have to do the living room, dining room, and the bane of my existence - the bathroom. I try to keep Lucas' room vacuumed and tidy so no major work needed there.

Hi to all the other moms I missed. I'll try to check in again later. Have a great day!

nyprincess- Welcome back. How is your DS doing?
He's doing ok. We decided not to give him the Omnicef last night. I want to talk to the ped first to see what we should do about the rash and yucky diapers. I gave him some infant tylenol last night since it is supposedly a pain reducer. He slept ok last night, but he went to sleep about 7:30 or so. He woke up about 3am, so we pulled him in bed with us and he went right back to sleep. He was still sleeping when I left for work about 7am. Thank you for asking. Its really stressful being at work while he's at home.

A little advice please.

Lately Tess has being taking her poop out of her diaper or just pooping in it in general. She hates being wet and dirty and wants it off the second she finishes.

Yesterday I told her if she poops in the toilet that I will give her a cookie and ice cream. ::hangs head in shame:: and today she has gone #1 & #2 in the toilet! Is it a horrible thing that I am doing this? I know she is ready to go in the toilet, but she is just *too* busy and unmotivated to want to go on her own. The other day the dog had an accident on the floor and she yelled at Sophie and told her we don't poop on the floor we poop in the toilet, lol.

Is food bribery really that bad? I made a really big deal that she pooped in the toilet to show her I was happy. ie. clapping, jumping up and down, saying yay, look at the poop in the toilet, good job...

I just don't want to do something that in the long run will be detrimental.

J&D - Glad to hear that Jenna's doing better. I remember the diapers we had when Madison had rotavirus and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Hermosa - With my daughter the best diaper cream was Mustela. Expensive but it cleared up her rashes instantly. With my son though nothing worked, till a tip I got here (thanks Fabumouse!!). I stopped using baby wipes for the most part (even though I used the newborn wipes with practically nothing in them) and before bed everynight I let him air out for awhile. He sleeps 12 hours so he's in that diaper a long time but no rashes in months! Sometimes if he looks a little red I put some aquaphor on his bottom before bed but that's about it. And my husband has a very hard time listening to babies cry too, I think (or at least hope) that's pretty normal.

Icebrat - Ya know how we trained Madison? We told her she could go to Disneyland if she filled up her potty sticker chart. 2 days and no stickers, then all of a sudden she was done with the diapers and trained. We were going to DL anyway and had over a month to fill up the chart so we knew either way both things would happen, so we figured why not. She seems fine with it now.

Madison was up all night coughing. The fever is gone but now she has a cough. She's going to the dentist for the first time today too so hopefully she'll be okay cause usually her coughs are nighttime only. Henry is crying and even though my husband is sitting in the same room as him I have to go get him.

GLT- Great pictures!

Lissawynn- LOL at the granny panties. I got a couple of pairs when I was pregnant and DH BEGGED me not to ever wear them.

Hermosa- I put a thick layer of desitin or aveeno on Olivia every time I change her. MIL thinks I’m crazy, but we haven’t had any diaper rashes.

Icebrat- Don’t feel bad about the food bribery at all! What you’re doing is just positive reinforcement, rewarding her for doing something well.

Justhat- sounds like Madison is getting better. We all had the fever and then it went down to just a cough. The cough is tough to get rid of though :(

No time for a post from me this morning—maybe later!

Lissawynn - LOL! I totally understand about the granny panties. I know this may be TMI, but I prefer the thongs and they fit quite nicely below my belly. The only time I wore the granny panties was after I had Jose Jr. I'll wear them again after I have Alex. Otherwise, they will get put away with all my other maternity clothes until we try for Isabella.

hi ladies!

I've been lurking, but no time to post!

Just wanted to say hi to everyone. Sounds like most people (and kiddies) are on the mend, that's great!

Just 5 days until we leave for Mexico. Can I lose 5 more pounds by then? ;) j/k

Talk to you all later!

Tamie

ice--really don't feel bad about "bribing" for potty training--We most certainly did with DD--her's was more TV related--she LOVES the Laurie Berkner band DVD, so the only way she could watch it was to use the potty! Worked like a charm-and now she just goes w/o needing "that positive reinforcement"! IMO, do whatever works for you!

tkyes--only 5 more days!!!:cool1: Hmmm, 5lbs in 5 days--maybe that water only diet! :rotfl2: But let me know if you do find the secret!

nyprincess--Hope your DS is feeling better---Putting on my pharmacist hat here, antibiotics can most definitley cause icky diapers. Shame on your pharmcist for not sharing that detail with you--and the rash does sound like a med. allergy-but definitely call your ped. to let him/her know

lissawyn--LOL about the granny panties--at the end of my prego with DD I went into Old Navy and bought the biggest pairs of panties I could find--I look at them now and wonder how I ever functioned being that huge!!:scared1:

alice--OMG on that belt buckle--that would be an awful gift to get period, but for your DH--hmmm, lots of thought went into that gift:rolleyes:

J&D--glad to hear that Jenna is doing better!

z--how has your weekend gone? Please check in and let us know!:grouphug:

justhat--I wouldn't feel bad ebaying duplicate gifts (or finding someone to regift them too)

Well, I better go--got lots of laundry to do today:laundy: Then need to hit the grocery store for some staples to get us through until payday:rolleyes: Our budget is so tight right now we're squeaking! Chat later!

Popping on to say hello Moms!

Can I tell you that I am actually trying to think of ways to get some extra $$ to save up in case there is free dining in September (crazy I know, as I still need $$ so the kids and I can survive in our precarious situation here). I'm gonna start putting change in a jar and look through Leif's clothes he's outgrown to see if anything is worth Ebaying...if not this year, then next. At least I can dream:cloud9: and hope:hippie: or maybe put on blinders to reality:3dglasses

Tamie - I'm with you on the no time thing. Mexico, how dreamy! I sure hope you have a great time.

Nucpharm - got the package today, thank you so very much! We'll have to play the game later -- Laine says he already knows how, "I saw it on TV Mom!" :lmao: WTG on your running!!

Icebrat - I'm all for bribery:thumbsup2 With DS he got a piece of candy from the candy bucket every time he went potty. After a couple weeks I weaned him off candy every time to candy when he pooped. It took a while for him to not get candy, but he was potty trained in a day!! He did a great job with the candy. Each child though, has a different hot button. Sounds like you are doing a great job adjusting to motherhood.:grouphug:

Jill :cloud9: You are the sweetest. Thank you so very much for the package. Laine is wearing his Pirates shirt right now. It's a bit big, but he doesn't care and that means it will get extra use!:thumbsup2 Leif is to be napping (I think he FINALLY quieted down) and I have no doubt he'll be very excited about his Mickey phone! And no doubts DD will love her shirt as well. It will be a nice surprise when she gets home from school. Thank you for my gift too. I know it will help me out lots! I am just speechless:hug: Thank you.

Jill, when is the neurologist appt?

Today DD had her first appt. with the counselor, I can't wait to hear about it. She has had a horrible case of insomnia, and that coupled with the spider phobia -- oh, and a bug WAS in her room yesterday:guilty: I just am having a hard time with her "needs."

lissawynn - I think we all did/do the granny panties thing! BTW, did youpost pics yet of the finished work? I'd love to see how things look. How does it feel to have more space?

NYprincess - Hi. HOpe you are doing well. I had something I wanted to answer but for the life of me can't recall right now, know that I'm thinking of you. Hope DS is feeling well, what did the dr. say about the meds?

DS just threw a candy wrapper behind the TV:mad: I can't believe he just did that....

Hermosa - sounds like the new bundle is keeping everyone jumping! I think we used A&D, which works for us, and powder too. Good luck!

GM - Hope work is doing well, when is your cruise?

justhat - sorry Madison isn't feeling well, hope the dentist appt. goes ok.

SL - HOpe you are having a good day and work isn't too crazy. Hugs to Luke.

Robin - I have to say, I am constantly amazed at how busy you are and how much you accomplish. I think you help motivate a lot of us. Hugs to you. I hope all is well in your household.

Val - Hello, I hope all is well and work has calmed down from the holday rush.

J&D - I hope everyone is getting better in your household.

Hillbeans - for us at the hotel it was a paknplay. So no bumper was needed. You are going in March, right? I am so excited for the big group of moms going soon!! Glad you made it through the weekend, I was thinking of you.

Zalansky :grouphug: Hope you and your sisters made it through the weekend okay. Thinking of you!

Diskim - how fun to be planning a trip! How was the concert? Was that last night, or is it today, I don't recall. Actually, I think you said something about being tired at work on Tuesday, so it must be tonight. Have fun! How's Emily doing with the puppy.

BNB - How are you? How's Jocelyn dancing going? And the boy-friend?

Tasha - hope school is going okay!

Ugh, I know I'm missing some of the moms, sorry! Know that you are all in my thoughts and I hope you and your families are healthy.:grouphug:

DisneyMommyMichelle - Have a great week too! Hello!

Hi all! :goodvibes

GLT - I'm glad that you liked the package! I wasn't sure on sizes so I bought bigger. BTW, I loved the pictures of the party. If there is anything else you need please let me know.

I know that I am missing all of you and I apologize! I've read the posts, I just haven't had a chance to respond. Hopefully I can tonight!

Katie is home sick today as she has caught whatever crazy bug Meagan had. She seems to be feeling better and I pray that John doesn't get it. He needs to be healthy for his CT Scan tomorrow. We report to the hospital at 7:30 a.m. sharp which is better than the 6:30 a.m. they originally told me.

I better run! I'll catch up later! :)

GLT- I hope that a trip to WDW can become a reality! We saved change and came up with about $100 in 3 months. That's not too shabby. I've made several hundred with ebay. Maybe when school lets out for the summer you can offer to babysit some of the other grade school kids whose parents have to work? It's always good to have a dream and a goal- I hope you accomplish it!

Hillbeans- hope your auction continues to go up-up-up. Molly likes to sleep right up next to the crib rails too, but I took her bumper off some times ago, as it kept getting twisty somehow. She doesn't seem to mind! she often will have a blankie kind of shoved up there...and I think Disney usually has the pak n plays, don't they? So it's that soft mesh? I know it was a P and Play when we stayed at the Contemporary when Josh was not quite 2 in 2003. Molly slept in my bed with me at POFQ, so I didn't get a crib that trip.

I don't have time to do a proper catchup, I'm sorry moms!

Morning mommies,

I guess I should say good afternoon.

Kona was up a lot last night because she couldn't clear her nose and it drives her crazy. I woke up at 8:30 and darted out of bed. The kids shoved breakfast down their throats and we made it to school 10 minutes late. DS had the first round of their Geography Bowl today and didn't want to miss that for the world.

This thread is movintg pretty fast today so I know I'm going to forget most of you.

jill,

I'll be thinking about John tomorrow. I hope everything goes well.:grouphug:

gottalovethem,

The party photos were wonderful!

Hermosa,

We used Balmex and powder but usually just powder. I tried to keep it dry in that area and that seemed to help. We did use a ton of ointment in thick coat when Kona got Salmonella and her little butt was raw from the bad diapers.

Kona and I are doing nothing today. I am cleaning and making sure everyone has what they need. That's it. My See's candy is supposed to arrive today so I guess that's what we are having for dinner.:rotfl2: (if there's any left by the time DH gets home.) :rotfl:

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday.

J&D,

Thanks for keeping an eye out for the teletubbies. Kona is just so in love with her Dipsy one. I think she has seen every Teletubby episode 100 times. I have to keep playing them in our On Demand to keep her happy.

nucpharm - Thanks for putting on your pharmacist hat. I really do wish they would have told me that. It's gotten so bad that it actually leaked onto one of the neices that is visiting. I told her it was a sign of love. She didn't go for that. I just talked to the ped and the nurse said they are calling in a new scrip for him to start tomorrow. I hope it doesn't do the same thing to him. Is that something I need to start writing down when people ask about his allergies?

glt - Thanks for thinking of me. He's doing ok. I just called home to check on him and his daddy said that his head was a little warm, but he gave him some tylenol drops to try to bring it down some. At least he isn't as hot as he was when we were in Orlando. Just by looking at him, you can't tell he's sick. He's still in such a good mood even though I know his ears must be killing him. Hopefully things at our house will calm down once the extended family leaves. I know they are trying to be helpful since I only have 5 more weeks to go, but I wish they would have asked me first if I wanted them to take down the Christmas decorations. The tree still looked amazing and would have loved to get a few last shots of it before it came down.

Well, today is my last day of freedom. School starts for me tomorrow. I am ready. Like I said, the sooner I go back, the sooner I finish. AND the sooner I may (hopefully) be going to Disney. Priorites, right? ;)

DisKim~ I have the opportunity to stay at the Marriott you mentioned in June if I want to compete in the state HOSA competition (for my major) in March, I think. If I were to place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, then I could compete in the national competition which I was told will be at WDW this year. We would be staying at the Marriott. I don't think I am going to compete though. I have the highest GPA in my class right now so there is a lot of pressure on me to compete but I don't really want to be away from my family that much for school. If it was more of a leisure trip, maybe. Competition for school? Not so much. It just doesn't really interest me enough.

SL~ Nope, I didn't win anything. I would have loved to have won the stay at the Dolphin or Swan but hey, I didn't expect my song to even get picked so that was pretty exciting in itself!

Hermosa~ We use Desitin Creamy. We tried other brands but that is the one we like and it seems to work the best for us. A lot of moms swear by the buttpaste but I personally don't care for it.

Tamie~ Have a great time in Mexico!

nyprincess~ Hope your ds feels better soon. We have been fortunate so far and Kylie has never had an ear infection. I am hoping our luck holds out for a long time. She has had about a million colds since starting daycare in August though. She didn't have one the entire time I was on break this past month since I mainly kept her home with me. I took her to daycare this past Tues. and Thurs. to get her ready for this week (since I go back to school) and, lo and behold, she has a cold. Oh, well, having a sick-free child was nice while it lasted!

GLT~ I would love to go to WDW during free dining but it looks like I will be in school again by the time they generally offer it. Oh, well, I like the weather better in May and May is sooner at least. Free dining is sooo appealing though!

I found out the other day that Kylie's pediatrician will be leaving at the end of this month. I am so disappointed. I love her! She is so laid-back and great and Kylie loves her too. I am going to miss her. Kylie's 2 year check up is scheduled with another one of the pedis in the practice but I haven't met him. The only other one I met was a complete jerk so I refuse to see him again. I am dreading having a new dr. for Kylie. It's hard sometimes to find the one you completely click with and even harder when you have to replace her. :( Hopefully this other one will be just as good. We'll find out in the beginning of May.

Okay, my time is up. Hi to all I missed. I probably won't get back for a while. Just wanted to post before going back to school. I have some last minute things I need to do today. I also plan to relax and enjoy my last few hours of freedom if I can and cuddle with Kylie. Bye!
