FF - Happy Birthday! party: :cake: Hope you enjoy Dunkin Donuts, I miss that place. There isn't one anywhere around.

Joats - sorry about the tree, the iceskating sounds really cute!!

justhat have fun at the party!

Good afternoon all! I swear, without the "instant e-mail updates", I get completely lost on this thread!

Sorry I haven't been checking in, but I can now officially report that I am:

- done with shopping
- done with cards
- done with cookies

I still have to wrap, and of course in this house, you're never actually "done" with cookies. But if I don't make another batch before Christmas Day, I'm good. In a few minutes, DH is going out to finish up his shopping, and I do still have to take the older three to Wal-Mart to get stuff for DH.

Oh, and you guys are a bad influence--I swung by Gumboree this morning, havent been in there in months. But I got my first Gymbuck! I'm so excited, even if it's clearly a shameless ploy to get you back in the store to spend more $$.

GLT--Love the new tag! And great that you have a van--I always feel better being able to get out. In your situation, it's gotta seem pretty bleak, stuck in the house and dependent on top of everything else.

icebrat--Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I know Tess's birth mom is really trying your patience. Please try to keep a good thought--she is giving you a most precious gift! This doesnt entitle her to be a first class PITA, of course, but try to keep perspective. And a sense of humor. And I'm sure you can already see how much better off little Tess will be with you and your DP.

FF--Happy 35th birthday! Cheer up, you're not the oldest mom on this thread! (I'm in contention, so I can say that!)

joats--I'd be so po'd/grossed out by the tree. I probably would put it outside. Yuck!

Loretta--Keeping you in my thoughts this holiday season. DH an I have had some rough holidays through the years, I hope you can find some Christmas spirit to guide you through.

Oops, I have to run.

Hey ladies, does anyone need a 10% off code for Old Navy.com?? I placed an order with them and one of the items I ordered is no longer available and so as a thank you they gave me a code for a discount. PM if you want it!

FF- Happy Birthday! :bday: :cake: I will be joining the 3-5 club in April. :thumbsup2 Hope you enjoyed your donuts!

GLT- I love your new tag- made me smile. :goodvibes I know how humbling it is to receive gifts like the food basket- but that is what friends and communities are for- to support those going through hard times. And then when you are back on your feet, you can pay it forward so to speak.

Ice- I missed the drama thread, but ey-yi-yi on the birth mom not bringing even $5 to grab a snack at the airport and no pull ups? WTH? Thank goodness Tess is coming to live with you gals.

Joats- ew on the bugs in your tree! :crazy2: I bet you will be taking it down the morning of the 26th, right? I usually do too, just cause I'm sick of it, but so far so good- I'm not tired of the tree yet. Probably because we got it freshly cut and no needles are dropping off and making a mess.

We still haven't taken Molly to see a good Santa yet...I'm not sure we will at this point! Josh asked the faux Santa at Costco last week for some action figures, but Molly just kind of laughed at him and kept walking. Didn't want to give him the time of day.

Kim- I'm sure the doggy will adjust well into your home- you seem really prepared and it will be great.

SL- glad fake Christmas Eve went well and that your pie was a hit! Love valet parking at the mall! Sometimes our malls do that. DH and I hit the fancy mall last night on the way to his Christmas party ( we were early). Love going to the mall at Christmas, esp in the evening, but when I don't really have to fight the crowds. We just browsed in Williams Sonoma, P. Barn, Baby Gap, and I walked by Gymbo on the off chance they put their stuff out early. No dice. I am not a fan of the bright orange/purple/pink line that's out right now so I didn't even go in. How bout them apples.

BNB- I *think * I am done with Christmas chores too. I might do another batch of gingerbread and sugar cookies this week, but the cards are out, the gifts are bought and wrapped, decor is up. I need to go food shopping later this week, as Christmas dinner is at our house this year. I'm buying a beef roast so I'm scouring the ads this morning to try and find the best deal. I'm thinking roast, baked potatoes with all the fixings, caesar salad, steamed green beans with almonds, crusty sourdough bread and then some sort of chocolate lava cake for dessert, with peppermint stick ice cream. Who wants to come over!? :sunny:

Z- I'm so sorry you are dealing with all this right now. Like the other ladies have said, is it feasible to hire a nurse? :grouphug: You are in my thoughts.

Bella- How is Bailey today?

Val- what are butter shots? Gymbo will be hard to resist this time, won't it?

Oops- I gotta go- I will catch up more later.

Ugh - I'm so exhausted....my kids are Christmas cookie slave drivers. We must have made 6 or 7 different kinds. I lost count. I'm dirty and sticky and really need to get ready to go to my mom's. At least we'll have plenty of dessert!

Holly - Happy birthday! I hope you enjoy your day :wizard: ! :bday:

ETA - I forget who asked, but we're picking up the puppy on Christmas Eve. It is quite the covert operation. We are going to put the kids to bed and DH is going to run to pick him up while I get everything together for Christmas morning. Then, we'll probably be up all night with a crying puppy. I can't wait until the kids come downstairs and see him! I haven't seen him in weeks. I hope he's still cute!

Had to stop in on my way up to clean some more...got my cookies baked and we'll ice them later. I'm making two other kinds later in the week and a chocolate chip cake for Christmas Day and that's it. Oh and sausage balls. Carson is starving all of a sudden - the last few days he's eaten every 2 1/2 hours or so during the day but still sleeping 9-10 hours straight at night. I'm thinking we need to start the cereal - I'm gonna try tonight at dinner.

FF-HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! Hope the doughnuts were super yummy! :bday: :cake:

icebrat - hang in there - she's almost here and hopefully you'll be rid of her "mom" soon. Hope Tess gets something to eat and a clean pull-up...poor baby.

robin - your Christmas dinner sounds excellent - I would LOVE to fly across the country to be there, but I just don't think I can make it ;) . We're having turkey again.

joats - sorry about the icky bugs - that has never happened to us. We also had to spend around $60 on our tree and I would be REALLY mad.

val - "butter shots"?? That sounds kinda yummy but deadly...

Ok - I need to head out again - hi to everyone!

:sad1:  :worried: XDH came to pick up the kids (I let him reschedule from yesterday because he was sick yesterday). The kids have a christmas concert at church tonight and xdh is refusing to bring them back in time for it. He also said that he is fighting me for whole custody. I am so freaking miserable.

gottalovethem,

What kind of *** fights the mother of his kids for full custody? He's doing it just to piss you off. Did he say why or did he just say that and leave? When is your next court date?

I wanted to tell you that if you can't find anything you need with those cards to check out www.giftcardbuyback.com

I use them sometimes if I get a gift card and I can't find anything to use it on or we don't have a that particular store close by. :thumbsup2

GLT- what a freaking *** he is being to you...and the kids. Doesn't he realize through all of this that it is the KID'S WELL BEING that is first and foremost here? Not 'how badly can I pi$$ of my xwife and make her miserable?' I mean, first of all, he should be bringing them back in time for that concert- esp if it's something the older 2 were looking forward too. At least when you hammer out the custody, he will have to bring them back by a certain time, not just when he feels like.

Sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....Molly is being a fart- can't type---

Holly - party:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

GLT - I am sorry about your almost ex-DH! :sad2:

Hi all. I'm in kind of a haze at the moment. I fell asleep on the sofa with grouchy Jimmy and woke up all wonky and out of it. We survived our afternoon w/o power.
The upstairs is painted. It looks wonderful. We did have another mishap with the paint color in our bedroom. Apparently some shades of beige and brown have purple bases. Well, when our "essence" went on the walls it went from brownish beige to lilac. I kid you not. We went to the paint store and got Swiss Cream and it looks just like what I wanted.

I have a ton of wash to do and sleeping beauty just woke up. I'll try to get on later and tell you all how much Verizon DSL has managed to pi$$ me off since yesterday!

ETA - Happy Birthday Holly! :dance3:
Today is my mom's birthday, too.

My Sleeping Beauty is refusing to nap again today. She did this yesterday and it just wears me out!

Hey, Jill, Gina, or Jen----if you get a chance, can you do a favor for me at Epcot? Just look at the 9 Dragons menu in Epcot (usually posted outside the door) and see if they still offer the sweet n sour chicken or fried rice for the kid's menu? I'm praying that restaurant hasn't switched to the alternate kid's menu....I doubt it....I mean, it's Chinese food! No big deal if you can't. I'm just curious.

I think Whispering Canyon will still have stuff they like, and Crystal Palace is a buffet, so we're safe. We might do one more sit down with the kids, but it will probably just be a last minute impulse. I read over my plans again last night and got excited. I've been so wrapped up in Wpasadi that I haven't thought too much about our trip the last 2 weeks. We're at the 3 month mark on Tuesday!

Jill & Jen- what are you most looking forward to on your trips?

GinaMarie- what was your favorite part so far?

I have not done anything outside the house today. DH was driving me NUTS cause he was bored, so I suggested he knock our front fence down- just a short picket fence and some of the boards were rotting off or coming off the nail. So he knocked down everything but the posts and drove the wood down to my parent's place for them to burn in their burn pile. I don't know where he is now- probably perusing roasts at the grocery store....I don't even have a clue what they cost so I suggested he price them out for me.

My neighbor's baby has the sucking down now, so she is able to just breastfeed, which is so great! No more of the pumping hassle.

Diz- it does sound like Carson may be ready for some solids! It's funny when they can just eat and eat and eat!

justhat- yum for See's! The line was like a Disney queue at our mall last night- there must have been 30+ people in line! I was like, "Guess we won't get a chocolate fix tonight!" My MIL said she's buy a box or two to bring up on Christmas Day. I hope your party went well tonight!

Ice- thinking of you and hoping it's going OK with Tess and the mother.

Well, I need to see if I can get Ms. Cranky Butt down for her nap. I'm looking forward to Survivor tonight! I'm kind of pulling for Becky...I don't know why. She seems smart, stayed under the radar, wasn't quite so godfatherish like Yul, and I think she did a lot to play the game without being so obvious like Yul and Ozzy. Ever since I read Ozzy did soft porn in TV Guide, I can't look at him the same, LOL! He sure does kick butt in the competition. Anyway, rooting for Yul or Becky!

FloridaFam- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

GLT- I'm sure XDH is saying things like that just to make you upset. There's no way the court would give him full custody of three children, and he knows that. He just wants to make you upset. Tell him to go ahead and try! What a moron! I hate when people get like that during a divorce, which is why I try to stay away from divorce law. You wouldn't believe what some people will put their ex-spouses through.

Alice- No problem with Nine Dragons. I actually just switched our dinner reservations for tomorrow night, so we're eating dinner there :)

I've had so many good moments on vacation that it's hard to pick a favorite. I really loved watching Olivia laughing and waving at the characters. Seeing her learn to wave and having everyone comment on how cute she is. It's such a different experience going to WDW with your child. I've also been enjoying all the food. Oh, how I love the food around here! I'm going to be dreaming about that lunch in Italy for years!

We had a really quiet day here today. We didn't even leave the hotel. My family all left to go back to NY. Livvie went in the pool with DH and I started totaling up all the receipts. We have over 60 receipts now, and I have to calculate what everyone owes us after tax/gratuitues/discounts. Right now everything is being charged to our mastercard, so I can't dilly dally on calculating for too long.

Anyway, we're off to Ohana in a few minutes.
Hopefully I'll check in later while I'm WPASADIing.

Posting from my blackberry tess is here we are in the car on the way home!

Also, I meant to say.. the updated kids menu is not as bad as some people have made it out to be. It does offer grilled fish as an option, which is unusual, since most kids I know wouldn't chose that. Otherwise, we found it to have the usual options (hamburgers, chicken, pasta, steak) and a couple of miniturized versions of adult menus at the same restaurant (without the pre-fixed plates). In Le Celier, DSis had beef pasta (like hamburger helper) and other DSIs had a kids' steak. At a lot of the counter service options, the food would be a kids hot dog or hamburger, and then you get to choose the "sides" (this is thanks to the dining plan which offers dessert and appetizers). It's like that for breakfast too- kids will get a waffle, bacon and a side of apple sauce. The sides are fruit like grapes or carrot sticks. Nothing too out of the ordinary.
DSis actually is a very bad eater at home, and she ate a ton on this vacation, but also a healthier mix of things than you'd expect.
I'm guessing Nine Dragons will be the same.. a couple of the canned options, and then a couple of the restaurant favorites in kid sized portions.

I'll let you know though!

Good evening moms! :goodvibes

Icebrat - Congrats for getting Tess!! :cheer2:

Happy Birthday to Holly! :bday: I hope that you had a wonderful day!

GLT - :grouphug: Your ex-dh is trying to rattle you with the whole custody thing. My exbil did that and he actually tried to get full custody. It never happened but it was still a pain. If your ex doesn't bring the kids back in time tonight for their Christmas show then document document document! (I know you are which is great.) He is hurting them by being spiteful. If he continues to do things like this then that will really hurt him in the end. Document how is is harrassing you with all of this too. I am so sorry that you have to go through this. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Zalansky - You are in my prayers. Are your sisters coming back down again soon?

Joats - Ewwww about the bugs!

DisKim - How exciting about the puppy!

Justhat - OMG, 2 hours to the Patriot Center! The traffic in this area just gets worse and worse. I'm glad that Madison liked the show though!

Ginamarie - I'm glad that you are enjoying your trip!

Lissawynn - I'm glad that the paint worked out in the end!

Hillbeans - Congrats for getting a big chunk of your holiday stuff done! BTW, I need to get that Cosmo recipe from my friend for you!

SL - I hope that you all stay healthy. That is great that your faux Christmas Eve was fun!

Val - How are you doing? Are things still busy at work?

Robin - I'll check 9 Dragons for you. We are supposed to eat there at some point on this trip. I just can't remember when!

Bellacam - Continued prayers for you all. :grouphug:

Hi to Tamie, J&D, BNBmom, Dizagain, Fabumouse, Cabmom, Ryan840, Gems, Tasha, Nucpharm and everyone! I'm sorry that I didn't get to respond to everyone. :wave2:

Today has been very busy. The kids opened their Christmas gifts this morning since I couldn't haul them in the car to Florida. They will still get their stocking stuff on Christmas morning which is good.

We also decided to leave tomorrow at dinnertime and drive to NC in order to break up the trip a little bit. That means that we should arrive at Disney on Tuesday mid afternoon. That will give us time to hit the grocery store and SOG for our park tickets.

I better run. I've still got some packing to do! Everyone have a great evening! :goodvibes

YAYYYYYY!!!!!! I was thinking about you all day - even told DH the story from this morning and asked him - what kind of parent takes their 2 year old out without snacks and pull ups? I was so worried she would back out at the last minute.

You are in for a GREAT and wild ride. :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

I'm hoping to be able to post later - but I just got my cards and last packages in the car, ready to be mailed. We ended up sending about 65 cards this year, most of them with a photo and a holiday letter, so the card stuffing/addressing was a bit of a production.

Thanks to everyone who sent good thoughts re my MIL's mother. She's having surgery on December 26th, so we won't know anything more until then. But . . chemotherapy at 76 - that just cannot be good. :guilty:

Hello,

All you Dis mom's going to Disney, have an awesome time! I'll be thinking of you!

icebrat, I can't wait to hear how everything goes after her first night with you. Sending loads of pixie dust your way.

Only 8 more sleeps till Christmas!!! I'm so excited for my boys.

Oh, and Dean is just starting to take his first few steps. He'll be walking by Christmas.

Here's some new ones:

Icebrat! I've been thinking about you guys all day too! I can't wait to hear how things are going and Tess's first night. I will pray smoothly for all. :wizard:

cabmom - good to see you, great news pictures! What an adorable baby Dean is!!!

FF - how was your special day? :goodvibes

fabu - sorry to hear about your MILs MIL. I need to read back some pages and see what happened. Chemo at 76 can't be good, I agree. I will keep her in my prayers. By the way I am still getting some mileage from the "man flu". Heck even I am still laughing about it! :rotfl:

jill & Jen - HAVE GREAT TRIPS!!! :cheer2: The weather has been great today so I hope it holds out for you guys. 72 out right now.

Hi to the mommies I missed. :wave2: I plan on cataching up tomorrow afternoon after we get back from Busch Gardens. DH leaves tomorrow morning for Chicago for 3 days. Wish me luck with the kids alone again!
My one sister flies back tomorrow and I don't envy her at all after my weekend. More on that another day. Have a goodnight ladies.

The kids were back in time for the concert, which is great. He said that he's not going to punish the the kids because of a problem he has with me. He is actually super mad at me, which I have never seen or experience. I know he is gonna come at me with anything/everything. And you are right, it is a mind game, which I know, but doesn't make it any easier. Thank you all for listening and for your support.

:cool1: :cheer2: Welcome home Tess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cabmom - great pics, nice to see you again!
