Floridafam, what are pampers points? Are they on every package of diapers? If so, I have a couple of packs of them and can give you the points as I don't collect them and don't buy Pampers consistently enough to make collecting them worthwhile. I've never looked for the points though so I have no idea where they'd be, but just let me know if this is something you can use.

Justhat- welcome back! Glad you made the airplane yesterday! THat must have been scary! And phew that Madison didn't get hurt in the pool- yikes! I know people like you described- ugh- can't stand people like that.

Kim- I'm sorry your Aunt is back in the hospital. That's awful. :guilty: Pixie Dust that she is feeling better very soon. :tink:

Diz- Still no kitty. I guess I need to call the vet shortly. :sad2:

our faucet sprayer broke again- my dad is coming over to help me pick out a new faucet at the Depot and then he'll put it in. (I only need his help because I could just see myself buying one with the wrong amount of devices to fill the holes in our sink). DH and I got in the stupid argument about it last night- I swear sometimes my DH doesn't make sense. I was so angry with him. He took a shower, and then apologized for being an idiot.

Well, I really don't know much this morning. Hope everyone has a good Wednesday!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

justhat,

I about fell off my chair when you mentioned your DH shaking the ride at the store for Madison. :lmao:

Pampers points are codes that are found on the inside of diaper packages. I think it's on a little white sticker on the inside and it's about 15 digits long. That would be great if you have any but don't go looking right now if you don't have time. I'm not in any rush.

Your trip sounds like it went pretty well. I have been to Sedona and it is beautiful, isn't it? I really want to take DH and the kids out West some year and see Colorado and Arizona.

It sounds like you will be arriving at WDW on the day we check out. Do you still have plans to come to Vero next month? Did you end up renting points from someone?

It's no big deal if DH decides not to do the Ironman. I mean it's a big deal to him but we will not have to spend the gas money and hotel money and I won't have to stay home by myself with the kids (i'm a big scaredy cat.)

We found out yesterday that one of our neighbors was arrested for possession of cocaine. This is the 2nd person in a year in that house to be arrested for drug posession. It really makes me mad because we live in a nice neighborhood. I am of the belief that if you are daring enough to do cocaine or crack then you have no problem breaking other laws so now I have to worry about if they have firearms in the house and what they do when they don't have enough money to buy their drugs. They better stay away from my house-that's for sure.

justthat - We'll miss eachother by 2 days!! We'll be there Nov. 12 - 19th! Bummer!! Glad your trip went ok. That is too funny about your DH and that ride! Hilarious!

ff - How scary about your neighbor. I would be worried about other stuff too!

alice - I hope you find a faucet that you like!

diz - that's great that Carson finally got some sleep for you. It's awful when they need to cough or blow their nose, but they obviously can't yet.

I never answered Robin's question about favorite non E-ticket ride. I think mine is TTA. It's just so smooth and relaxing and I love seeing the inside of Space Mountain since I don't go on it. Tyler fell asleep on it last year. I also love Carousel of Progress, The Great Movie Ride and Living With the Land.

How about your favorite Disney Souvenier?

Tamie

FF- that is really scary about your neighbors. You just never know....

justhat- I forgot to say that that comment you made about your DH shaking the machine was hilarious! :rotfl2:

tkyes- I forgot about TTA! I love that one too- esp cause they took it out at DL. I really also miss the Skyway; one of my favorite areas at MK is that little alcove where there is a pond, and the bathrooms bordering Fantasyland and Liberty Square----you can still see where the Skyway boarding area was. I only got to go on that once, on our honeymoon. At DL it was so cool cause you went through the Matterhorn on the Skyway! Sigh....those were the days!

Oh, my favorite souvenir- I always have to get a pen when I go to DL or WDW. Then I can have it in my purse or near the computer and always think of my trip. I also usually get a new keychain. I also love a good sweatshirt, but I don't get those every trip as they are kinda pricey!

Well, I'm off to make some beds before my dad gets here. Joshua went to kindergarten this AM because they had a pumpkin patch field trip, which I didn't volunteer for because of Molly and because I thought I would be at the Vet's this AM. :sad2: Anyway, it's kind of strange to be here just with Molly this AM.

Still have a sleeping boy...

justhat...glad you're home and the kids were so good for you! Madison's "adventures" sound scary - glad she's ok..thank goodness they're so tough!

alice28 - sorry about your poor kitty - do the kids realize? Have fun shopping for a faucet! I love ANYTHING new - don't you?

tykes, floridafam, and justhat - no fair that you will be missing each other by so little time! I'm excited for you all and your trips, though! :)

And my favorite souvie would have to be Christmas ornaments...my visit to Downtown Disney is a highlight of my trips as I get to choose my two ornaments!!! Oohhh..I just love pulling out my vacation ornaments each year - this year I have two from Maine.

I may break the cardinal rule and wake a sleeping baby - I know I'll regret it later, but I have to change his diaper and pj's before we go out and I need to go!!!

justhat,

I'm so sorry about Madison falling in the pool. That must have been so frightening. DS did something like that once at the Vero pool and I still get chills when I think about it. I hope she is okay now.

Would anyone mind telling me how to put that little pumpkin in my signature. I keep getting BOO'd and I don't know how to do it.

Well, Emma's mood has dramatically improved! Thank goodness! I think running around at the gym did her a world of good--I sort of wish gymnastics was 2 days a week, she loves it so much!

dizagain--I'm with you on the Christmas ornaments. We get one on every trip we go on, so our tree is covered with little momentos from around the country. It's great to pull them out every year and get to think about those vacations. This years new ornament is from DTD when we were there in January

alice--good luck picking out a faucet--when DH tried the DIY method of replacing our sink and faucet in the kitchen at our old house he bought a sink with the wrong number of holes in it--what a pain that was! Needless to say, we didn't get the new sink only the faucet

justhat--Glad to hear that you made it back safely! I love Sedona---it was one of my favorite vacations that DH and I took--but we also didn't spend any time in Phoenix, just flew in there and drove up to Sedona for the week--we actually took a sunrise hot air balloon ride there which ended with a champagne brunch--so romantic!

I think Emma is actually about to fall asleep. We have friends coming over this afternoon, so an early nap would be great! Have a great day all!

Dizagain - Kailey will be okay with the guinea pig going because she cannot really play with it any more. We take both pigs out every night to play in the kiddie pool, but I don't like her messing around with the one that clearly sick. :guilty:

But I am hoping someone on this thread has had to do away with a pet rodent before. :teeth: I'm afraid to post on the dark side.

Justhat - I worked in NY. We had a few attorneys go into private labor practice while I was there and boy, do they get the coooooollllld shoulder. :cold: Congratulations on Henry sleeping through the night! I fear we have a long way to go . .. .

And OMG poor you and poor Madison about the two falls! That is so terribly scary. One of the chips on my shoulder re FIL is that once he was babysitting with Kailey in the pool and he got out to water the plants all around the pool with his back to her. :furious:

Robin - sorry you haven't found your cat. :guilty:

FF - I agree. We had a drug user down the street, living with his mother in our neighborhood which is very nice and peaceful and he was the one wart. He would periodically break into people's homes on this street and steal anything he could pawn easily. He's in prison again. :sad2:

My favorite souvenier is my mug from Animal Kingdom that says "Tigger is that you?"

:surfweb:

diskim - sorry!! that seems to be happening a lot lately. Note to self, copy posts before posting, just incase.

my favorite souvenier are the ornaments too. I usually get a personalized one from Downtown Disney. I don't know if I'll get a personalized one this year since DH won't be with us this time. Maybe I'll just get a Tyler one.

Robin - I usually get a pen too. That's on my list this time because I lost the one from my last trip. I always snag the hotel ones too. I like having them around the house. :)

I bought some kitchen towels a few years ago in MGM that I still love. They are really subtle, you can't really tell they are Disney unless you look pretty closely.

Time to lay Tyler down and eat some lunch.

When we came home from getting the kids, there was a nice package from DVC by the door with our giclee print in it. Have any of you other DVC mommies received yours yet. I think I am going to ebay mine. There really isn't a place for it in our house.

DisKim,

I have lost so many posts lately. Now, I copy my post before I hit reply then I can just paste it and reply again if the original one gets lost.

:thumbsup2

Hi ladies. I'm leaving soon for my drs appointment and then we're having dinner at my dad's. I dread the traffic going to and from my appointment.

DisKim - I'm hoping they can find a way to treat your aunt and help her feel better.

ryan - I'm so sorry for your loss. My Nonnie sounds very similar to your grandmother. She lived her life doing pretty much what she wanted and never apologized for it. I know she's in a better place. :grouphug:

I've got to clean up my stuff and get out of here. I'll talk to you all later.

Hi all!

I just have a few minutes--what else is new. My "day off" turned out to be a bit of a bust--DH decided he wanted to test drive a car he's looking at (2001 Dodge Durango). Which is fine, he does need a newer car, but today? He's off folding laundry now--good boy!

I had fun at the cooking place, My Other Kitchen. I got the feeling they were a chain, but the web site just listed the one address. I prepared 12 meals in about an hour--we'll be eating some over the next few days, so I'll have to let you know how they taste. Prep was sure easy, but of course they have all the ingredients chopped and all--no running around to see if you have cilantro or anything.

fabumouse--DH has that on a sweatshirt!

I would have to vote for Christmas ornaments for my favorite souvenir, also. I have some nice ones from the Germany pavillion from our visit in '92--I could drop a few hundred $ in there, easily, but didn't even dare go in the store this past trip! Ah, maybe next time--they'll be waiting for me!

justthat--glad the trip went well. I remember Jocelyn falling into the pool once, and it was a very quiet sound. I pulled her out so fast, the top of her head didn't even get wet (she was wearing a hat), but it was just stunning how fast something like that can happen. Of course, when Robert fell in, it was much more dramatic--he fell in the pool while he and DH were doing something out there in March and there was still ice in it, and Robert fell in wearing his fleece jacket and was totally frozen and soaked. No fear of drowning, though.

P.S. I could totally see my DH shaking a ride. Of course, I just let the kids sit in it--they don't know they're actually supposed to move, but I'm just lazy, I guess!

ryan--So sorry about your grandmother. Peace to your family in this difficult time.

Oops, time's up!

FF - we got our DVC planner and glicee print today too! After all the hype on the DVC boards, it was not what I expected. The package itself is very cool and so is the print, but its not something that will fit in with our decor. Let me know if you have good luck ebay-ing yours....maybe I will do the same with mine?

Also to anyone who shops at Yankee Candle - my friend forwarded me a coupon for $15 off any purchase of $45 or more. If anyone wants me to forward it to them, let me know.

OMG, I cannot believe what my daughter just did! :furious: I really am an extremely patient person and it takes a lot to get me angry-in fact this is probably the first time I've ever truly been angry with Madison. She was in our semi-exterior hallway, which I allowed cause she wanted to get her Minnie shoes. I was feeding Henry and noticed she was out there awhile but she answered when I called her so I thought she was fine, just playing with the shoes (all of our shoes are out there). He finished eating so I put him in his swing and went to check on her and she had found a full bottle of sunblock and emptied it onto the floor, our Halloween Mickey doormat, her clothes, and all of my shoes!!! :furious: Not hers, no, those were still on the rack nice and clean, but mine, including all over a suede shoe that is now ruined. The floor was impossible to clean cause of course sunblock is somewhat water repellent, but the shoe was the worst. I still can't get it all off and will probably have to throw it out. Upside is that my shoe is now repelling water. And the floor is concrete, so the towels I used to clean the mess got all torn up in the process. And the Mickey doormat is so rough that I can't really clean it all, though that's the least of my problems. The floor is slick now and I just can't get all the sunblock off.

And to add to that she dropped a bottle of Purell on the hardwood floor this morning and it turned white despite the fact that I cleaned it immediately. I think it's just the polyurethane that got messed with and the wood is fine, but I still have to find some way to get the white residue off the floor. That was an accident (though I have said countless times not to play with Purell) so I wasn't upset about it, but after cleaning that many times this morning I was not in the mood to clean the sunblock.

I just keep telling myself that she's 2 and therefore required to do bizarre things that add to my workload, but it was very hard to remember that while cleaning the floor and my shoes. Oh, and then she had the nerve to fall asleep while I was cleaning! ;) I don't let her nap in order to have her in bed by 7:30 so I woke her up and then she told me she wants steak for dinner! :lmao: I don't think I've ever cooked a steak in my life and the vacation is over so she's out of luck. I have to go to some party for her school next Friday and will most likely have to buy new shoes now so I'm not so thrilled with that either. I did stop to take some pictures about halfway through the cleaning process in case this appears humorous in some way years from now so maybe I'll post some later.

Well, if anyone has any ideas about how to clean sunblock off a suede shoe please let me know!! I have to finish cleaning the mess now before she sees it and thinks about trying it again.

Aw, Justhat, I'm sorry Madison wrecked your shoe! I think it's a lost cause, I'm sorry to say. I totally know how you feel (remember my boy with the Sharpie on my leather sofa?).....I had to walk in the other room after I saw what Josh did cause I thought I was going to hit him hard in anger, I was so mad. We have had many a bottle of something dumped in this household, it just happens unfortunately. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

LOL that she wants steak though. I think I would fall over and die if my kids ever requested steak. I hate that my kids aren't a little more adventurous in their eating. They'll eat it, but they don't like it.

I picked out a $200 faucet! My poor dad- he just had to go BACK to the Depot cause the hoses were an inch to short, so he is hoping to get an adapter. I feel bad. I treated him to some McDs for lunch. Anyway, the faucet is really sharp, it's a Kohler, to go with my sink. The people who had this house before us put in the fanciest Kohler sink, and that most ca-ca, cheapie faucet. Weird. :confused3

Still no kitty! I'm assuming he's gone. Sam cried a bit yesterday afternoon when I told him I couldn't find him. :guilty: :guilty:

Fab- I haven't had to get rid of a sick rodent, but we did put down our last kitty because of major peeing and pooping in the house issues. Our whole carpet had to be ripped out because one room was just ruined and disgusting by the smell of cat urine. She was just traumatized when we got a dog, and she started peeing and pooping everywhere in the house and got really ornery. I think sometimes it's OK to let an animal go for the sake of your household. I would get so flamed for that elsewhere on these boards, but hopefully I'm ok here.

That's why these kitties were to just live on our porch and outside, and now look what happened. I feel like a failure as a pet owner. :sad2:

Anyway, I need to pick up a bit more before my dad comes back. I wish I could help him more install this faucet, but it's kind of a one person job.

lissawynn- hope your appt goes well and traffic isn't too bad

BNB- I forgot about ornaments! They are fun to pull out at Christmastime, aren't they? We have collected several over the years.
