Hi moms, I haven't been able to read any posts since Saturday but I really need some prayers please. My grandma fell and broke her hip yesterday and we were just told to get to the hospital ASAP because she isn't expected to make it through the next 24 hours. Please prayer for her comfort, and for my family- my mom and uncle especially as they will not take this lightly. Thanks so much!

Oh, Ryan, I am so sorry to hear this news. Hugs to you and your family and prayers of comfort for your grandmother. :guilty:

ryan--our prayers to your family in this difficult time.

glt--we have that toy--it was one of Celeste's all-time favorites! If I thought I could pull it off, I would re-wrap it for Christmas!

Ryan :grouphug: and prayers have been sent to you and your family.

bnb - funny about wrapping and regifting :goodvibes

ryan - I'll say a prayer for your grandma.

GLT- we had that ball thing too! I think it went to the Goodwill some time after at least half the balls went MIA with the dog. It was a good one though! LOL BNB about regifting it!

Have any of you read Hucifer's trip reports? She has some fabulous news at the end of her report! :cloud9:

So, tell me everyone, inspired by Tamie's favorite snack/treat question, what is your favorite 'off the beaten path' attraction at WDW? Meaning, not an "E" ticket. I have a soft spot for the silly Jungle Cruise- it just makes me smile every time. Corny, but a goodie, esp with a good skipper! I also love Philharmagic, although I guess that's a headliner lately.

Ryan - I'm so sorry. I will certainly keep your grandmother in my prayers :grouphug: .

My favorite treat - I know it's cliche but Mickey bars and dole whips. I remember my first dole whip. It was in 1992 and DH and I had hopped in my Honda CRX and drove down to WDW during our spring break. It was the best thing I had ever tasted :cloud9: .

My favorite off the beaten track thing - I love the Carousel of Progress. I also must be the only parent who loves the Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area but I just love watching the kids have a ball there. I also love just sitting back and listening to the awesome entertainers in AK. OK, I could list a hundred things so I'll stop. You people are making me miss Disney and I can't go this year!!!

Robin - I'm totally jealous of your plans to meet up with Zalansky and Floridafam. You girls are going to have so much fun! I was supposed to go that week too. My stepmom wants to do a big family vacation there since she just moved to the east coast and has never been there. However, we have 2 weddings in May. One of them is in Key Largo. I'd have to be mentally ill to take the kids to Florida twice in such a short time span. I hate the whole traveling thing. I get so nervous about getting to the airport on time, etc.

GLT - I'm the same way. I get the kids out as much as possible now while I still can. We have that toy too. Aidan loves it!

We had a nice time at the park today but it was HOT! After my friends left, we took a walk around the track. I was suprised that Emmy and Alex did it without complaining.

Well, I better go clean up Aidan. I can't believe it is almost his bedtime. Today went so fast. I don't want to go to work tomorrow. I was up late grading papers last night and I feel like I'm trying to move mud. The papers are really what's buring me out. Reading 100 essays on the positive or negative effects of media role models can put me in the insane asylum.

Ryan,
Sending prayers for your grandma and family :grouphug: . We are here if you need to talk.

Hillbeans,
What a rotten comment to make about the daycare  .

Tamie and GLT,
Love the new pics  !

Robin,
I don't remember if I answered your question about EE but yes I did ride it and I loved it! It's on par with Thunder Mtn in intensity I would say and a lot of fun. Your boys will think it's great :teeth: . Sorry about the sink. I hope it's fixed soon.

Favorite non-headline attraction would probably be Carousel of Progress. I just love that ride. I also love the Great Movie Ride but I don't know if that's considered a headliner or not.

Tamie,
Fav. snack at WDW would have to be popcorn. I also love those giant pretzels, mickey ice cream bars, and just about everything else they sell  .

GM,
Sounds like you had a great weekend :) .

Dizagain,
Have fun with the doll birthday. I can't wait until Katrina is old enough to do that stuff together.

Poohangel,
I hope you managed some rest.

Hi to Diskim, Joats, J&D, Gems, Gretchen, and all the moms  .

I'm feeling funky today. I don't know what my problem is other than this happens every year on my birthday. Maybe I will just stop celebrating them. I feel like crying right now.

Shopping was fun yesterday with my best friend. I managed to get a lot of stuff for the kids for Christmas. They each only need a couple of more items and they are done.

Well, I guess I should go. I still need to post some pics. I will try to do that after dinner. Talk to you all later.

Diskim,
We must have been posting at the same time. I'm glad you had fun at the park. I swear sometimes I wish I was one of your kids. You are always doing something fun :) . As you can see I love CoP too. "It's a great big beautiful tomorrow..."

Valerie- is today your birthday? Did I forget to wish you Happy Birthday? I'm sorry you are in a funk about it, but I hope you were able to do something fun!

I did get to go on Expedition Everest in May and thought it rocked the house! I hope my kids like it- Sam I know will go on it at least once- he tried everything, and usually enjoys it! Joshua......I'm not sure. He can be a pill about a lot of rides, especially if it involves water. He doesn't like Pirates because you go down a hill and get ever so slightly splashed.

I went on COP for the first time last trip and thought it was so sweet!

Kim- how funny that you had a CRX- I so wanted one of those cars! I wanted a blue one.....I forgot about Dole Whips- those are so tasty! Gotta get one next trip.

I wish you were going that week too, but I understand about being overwhelmed with too many trips. I get anxious about flying to WDW, only because we always seem to get fouled up by A. getting up so darn early (the flight we always take leave at 0645), B. not eating well on the airplane, and C. the time difference. The last two trips I packed sandwiches, fruit, lots of water, chips and treats and we were still all STARVING to death by the time we got to Orlando and my dad and I were quite grumpy.

I am so tired right now....Molly was awake from 5-6 or so this morning and I laid there with her, waiting for her to go back to sleep. Then I had to get up at 7 anyway. And I didn't fall asleep til almost 12.... Anyway, enough whining.

FYI- anyone who does Sunshine--- they have a $10.00 offer right now for something so cute- it's like a book club, but it's a Build A Bear club! You get a little 7.5 inch bear every month, an outfit, plus other stickers, etc and it's $13 a month with shipping, but of course you can return the first bear and not pay a thing and still get the $10 credit. I signed up in a heartbeat, and when they credit my shopping and that, I will already be at $25! :woohoo: Now, to do this 2 more times by March.....I've gotten very picky with what offers I do these days, but I hope to do a lot of holiday shopping online this year, and hopefully I can find what I want thru their merchants. I wish they offered Gymboree and Lands End as some of their shopping merchants!

Gee, favorite snack at WDW--I would have to go with a frozen Coke. I know they're just Coke and ice--but they're just perfect!

Favorite sleeper attraction--I just LOVE Storytime with Belle. It's just so sweet the way the kids get to participate and a dad, too. One time Robert got picked to play Gaston, and he brought the house down! BTW, CoP is one of Jocelyn's favorite--so funny, because she's a thrill ride kid.

Val, now you're just showing off! Hope your trip was fabulous!

Speaking of which, we decided to pass on the class for DH in Nov. It would be the Mon.-Fri. between Jocelyn's dress rehearsal and then performance weekend, along with everything else. We'll go again in 2008, definitely, and maybe he can do the class next year.

I just picked up the 8000 pictures from our vacation, plus the CD's, so I'll try to post tomorrow.

Val, what fab pictures! Joshua has that same Gymbo snake shirt! Not that that is a big surprise, us being both crazy fans and all. I love the pic of the kids in jail at the Buzz exit.

BNB- Can't wait to see some of your pictures, if your DH will let ya post a few! ;) I hope your DH can take that same class again next year.

I need to go wake the princess up, as we need to head off to somewhere for dinner before Josh's soccer game.

Val - So you noticed I'm always on the go, did ya  ? I can't stand being home because if I'm home I start tearing things apart and making tons of work for myself. I'd much rather get out and enjoy myself. I also reallly appreciate this time with young children and I just want to enjoy every minute. I was going to take them to the boardwalk and the beach but I just ran out of time today. Was your birthday today??? I get weepy on my birthday too. I just want to avoid them now. This year, I was so preoccupied with my aunt's health problems that I could have cared less about my birthday.

Those were great pictures! Emily came running over to see Mulan. She has always been one of Emmy's favorites.

BNB - Emily loves CoP too. It's a mother/daughter thing. We always do that while the boys ride to Transit Authority thing (I can't remember the name).

Robin - I had a blue CRX!! It was my first new car. My grandmother bought it for me when I graduated high school and I just thought I was hot stuff in that. The name of the color, by the way, was "crystal blue pearl". I don't know why I remember that. DH and I have fond memories of that car. We hauled our stuff back and forth to Rutgers in that car, took trips in it, etc. It's amazing how much junk we were able to fit in that small car.

I don't get why 7th Heaven isn't on tonight :confused3 .

Diskim,
I don't understand why 7th Heaven isn't on either  . I know that show is corny but I have been watching if for so long it's hard not to watch it now that they brought it back. I can't imagine no Ruthie or Simon though :confused3 .

Robin,
Yeah, not too surprising about the Gymbo shirt ;) . I'm sure Molly and Katrina have a lot of matching outfits too.

BnB,
I would prob. opt out of the trip for this year too. Like you said it just sounds like to much work. There is always next time to look forward to, right :) ?

Yes, today is my birthday and I am still in a funk. Neither of my parents called to say Happy Birthday which may be childish but still hurts my feelings. I'm also upset about my grandfather and other things but I don't want to start a pity party. My plan is to go to bed and wake up tomorrow to a better day (I hope).

Hi moms!

I had jury duty today which was worse than chewing glass.....

So here I am with two minutes.

Vald - did we miss your birthday??? I am going to wish you a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY VALD just in case!!! :bday:

Great pics of the kiddos. :goodvibes

Diskim - I say forget the trip to Key Largo and do Disney instead! I know, I know, I am a bad influence but I am being selfish and want you to be at WDW!

Ryan - :grouphug: and prayers for your Grandmother.

GLT - love the pics of your kiddos too. They are so adorable I love when you post their pics, they have such infectuous smiles.

I hate to but have to run, I have been up since 6am and sitting in a holding room bored off my butt all day and need to get on the couch.

I think my overall favorite WDW snack would have to be their chocolate chip cookies that they bake fresh all over the place, but I especially love them on main street. Of course, there are the cheese danish at Boardwalk but I can't get those just anywhere. Mmmmmm. Goodnight all......

:wave2:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY VAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1: :thumbsup2  :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

Not much to report tonight. I'm pretty tired and am going to go to bed early.

Ryan,

I'm sending a prayer your way. :grouphug:

Val - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!! :bday: ! I hope you get out of your funk tomorrow. I take it Ruthie and Simon are not coming back :confused3 ? I think they really pushed things by bringing the show back, especially if they are going to do it without Ruthie and Simon.

Zalansky - I can only imagine the turmoil I would cause by ditching the wedding and going to Disney. I'm sure I would be disowned. I wish I could take an extended trip and stop in WDW but I can't do that in May. I'll be lucky if I'm allowed to take all of my 3 personal days together which would only give my 5 days in the Keys. That wedding in on Alex's birthday too. It really sucks for him.

OK, I'm going to go grade some papers. Speaking of grading papers, I wonder how lissawynn is feeling. I haven't seen her here since last week.

Nucpharm- I saw a neat idea for a home birthday party recently from build-a-bear. It’s not that cheap, but it looked cute, and if you supplemented it with some homemade food/desserts it might be reasonable. A cute thing to do is a build your own cupcake. Just make some plain chocolate and vanilla cupcakes and then let them decorate them with frosting/sprinkles/jelly beans, etc.

GLT- Yeah, Olivia is definitely a “hold me” baby. My mom thinks that I pamper her too much that way, which is probably true, but I hate it when she’s upset and crying. It’s a vicious cycle. She’s been spending most, if not all, of the nights in her crib now, so at least I get a break a night. Great pics!

Ryan- I’m so sorry about your grandmother. I will say some prayers for her.

Alice- We’re big fans of the Carousel of Progress. The theme music is so darned catchy! Hehehe- as I read everyone’s posts I guess I’m not alone!

Val- Happy birthday! I’m sorry you’ve been in a funk today. Great pics though!

I heard that they’re moving 7th Heaven to Sunday nights now. I’m not sure what brought about the change, but I think it starts next weekend again. I was really disappointed with the first couple of episodes, but maybe it will get better. If it stays this bad, they would have been better off ending it last year :(

I’m feeling a little down tonight too. I don’t want to go back to work tomorrow! I have to leave Olivia for awhile so that I can do a deposition too. I know the next couple of weeks are going to be tough, so I’m not looking forward to it.

Hi ladies. I finally got my internet connection working, but I'm really too tired to do much of anything. We had in-service today and had a pretty good speaker in the morning. He's also going to speak to our students tomorrow.
I am almost caught up on the work I missed after staying home for five days. I still have tests to grade and will try to get to them tomorrow.

I have to say a HUGE thanks to justthat for an amazing exchange package. We got our package on Friday and it was filled with great goodies. We got 2 shirts for Jimmy and a bib for baby-on-the-way Annabel. We also got a bat potholder and Halloween dish towels. There was a Halloween flashlight and pumpkin lantern, a candle, a Halloween cup, Goldfish, and a bag of Hershey bars with almonds. I promise to take pics of Jimmy in his new shirts as soon as I can. I also can't wait for him to take the flashlight and lantern trick or treating. Again, Justine, thanks so much for an awesome exchange!

I am going to try to read over the last few days worth of posts. We had some sad news today at school. One of the English teachers in the high school lost her son over the weekend. She was due a week before I am. Her husband teaches in our school and they live really close to our house. She had been having lots of health problems and I heard they actually made her deliver the baby, although I am really hoping that is not the case. I am so thankful that everything with Annabel is going well.

I hope you all have a great night. I'll chat with you soon.

Happy Birthday Val!
