J&D - I had to post a reply to you because I have been told so many time that I look like Vanna White. Mostly when I was younger....and now I have been told a few times I resemble that actress from Curb Your Enthusiasm. But I still get the Vanna thing alot. But can I ask, why does Vanna NEVER seen to age???? Surgery? :confused3

Z!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You look so great! I love the birthday pictures (esp the soft pink roses in the background- what a good idea for a girl's birthday! I have to remember that, AND prod DH to get them for her)....Cam is so very sweet and that birthday dress is darling. You look wonderful! Stop putting yourself down! LOL at the 'very motley crue!' Is BIL with the Tampa Bay Bucc girlfriend the tightwad who wanted you to get a Sat night room at the BW?

And my gosh, the view from your room is absolutely to die for. Stunning. Love the pic of Cam in her Minnie dress- and Conner looks awfully proud in his Buzz shirt with Mickey! Thanks for sharing your pictures!

GM- How sweet that your family misses you. I laughed at the neighbor saying to you they had never seen people move themselves- glad you could provide entertainment for the neighborhood! :rotfl2: I hope you find your MIA china soon!

And I know what you mean about going to Target *again*. I think we only went twice last week, but it may have been 3 times...oy.

nucpharm- that's too cute about Emma looking at you like you're an alien. Molly looks at me like that sometimes- or she already gets exasperated looks with me. It's funny, but it won't be in a few years!

Jill- glad the party went well and the girls didn't keep you up all night. John has 4 teeth all at once? Yowza! Is your high school reunion going to be somewhere fancy?

Hillbeans- I used to slop on myself practically DAILY when I was pregnant. I would have to lean WAY over to eat if I wanted my shirt to stay clean. Something about hand eye coordination being off, not to mention the giganto belly.

Funny story- when I was pregnant with Sam, 3 of my closest GFs were preggo too. Before I knew I was preggo, but I was, I went to Chevy's with one of my preggo friends. She spilled her water and blamed it on being a pregnant klutz. 5 minutes later I spilled my water and we laughed and she said, "Maybe you are pregnant too!" I was like, "No-way..." I think two days later I took a test and surprise! I was pregnant.

OK, well I didn't do much today. We did our grocery shopping and then I had DH take the shower doors off for me so I could properly clean them. (They overlap and there is 4-5 inches that I can't scrub and it's gross). Then I vacuumed, tidied, and exercised. And did lots of surfing on DLP. :sunny:

Have a good night all!

Zalansky - first off, you look just as good as the cheerleader! You are gorgous :goodvibes LOVe the b'day photos, your teeth look great, no yellow on my screen :) LOVE Cam's b'day dress and princess hat, absolutely adorable. Happy birthday to Cam and to you too! Good luck with the focus group tomorrow. And WOW what a view from the hotel. Looks fab. Wish I could go there tomorrow!

Gems - good luck at work. I hope they are nice to you. :wizard: Or at least not mean. :goodvibes

Robin - have fun Target shopping. I actually walked out of that store today only spending $7 :Pinkbounc Who would of thought that was possible. Of course, I had already been to three other stores :rotfl2:

joats -we make pancakes in our house a lot too. YUMMY Our latest is to add chocolate chips  DD has the Barbie scooter too. It's a big hit with her and her friends. Good gift! I don't remember any issues with my oldest 2 and the bottle, I'm have b**b addiction issues with Leif. . . so sorry, no advice

sl - happy b'day!

Diskim - I started b'sitting when I was 11, so I'm sure a few minutes by herself would be absolutely fine. Like Jill suggested, have her take a babysitting class, I know the Red Cross offers one here, or maybe it's the Y?

Jill - hi! Glad the sleepover went well! Hope classes are going great for you.

nucpharm - maybe you should call the builder so they can fix it? it's anew house, right? Good luck with dh gone.

disneyphd - great to have you posting with us, missed you! and I think I already mentioned it, but LOVe the hair!

ginamarie - good luck settling in, hope you find the missing dish!

J&D - I thought of you earlier today and wanted to share something with you but now have no clue what it was. Know that I'm thinking of you!

Val - I have to give it up to all you working moms. To be able to work, manage a house/kids and still have time to chat with us, that's incredible. We always love to hear from you and don't worry if you can't always post, or catch up. It's nice to see your sparkling name :sunny:

DH has had a fever the last couple days, yet has still worked at the bar and still had energy to visit his friends. Yet know he's asleep on the couch and moaning in his sleep. He said he has to go to work tomorrow. I don't think it's anything serious, just enough to make him miserable, and you know how guys are :teeth:

Leif's lips are healing, thanks to all who asked. His lip that was stung looks great, a little extra skin there, but fine. His upper lip which he split when he fell has a scab but doesn't seem to be bothering him. He too, has been a little cranky. But he had shots last week and they said with one of them it takes a week for it to kick in, so maybe that's it :confused3 or teething? Who knows, at any rate he seems ok. And he is soooo cute (proud mommy moment) that I just wanna squeeze and kiss him all day.

DD and DS are doing ok. DS is great with school, DD on the other hand complains about it all the time. And today they had Sunday school, she went dragging her feet, literally. I'm wondering if it's worth sending her. . . and the strange thing with Sunday school, she's in the K class and they put DS in her class :confused3 he's only 3. Not sure if they realize that or if they just wanna keep the kids together.

OK, done whining. I have a couple bids on gymbo things on ebay -- you gals are hooking me and since I have no store close by... I also put a few maternity thing up on ebay and hope that will cover the items I wanna buy (also have a bid on a winter jacket for DD).

party: :jumping1: :dumbo: :tigger: :ccat: :tink: :donald:

OK, don't think I'm insane, but whew!!! While writing the above post my screen went black! before shutting it down I hit tab and return (twice) and it posted what I had been typing! i can't believe it.

So anyway, HI to all the mommies I missed above. Take care and hope our Monday's go well.

Hi ladies

Zalansky – I love the pictures, you look great. Cam looks so cute especially in her Minnie Dress! I loved your description of your family too, it raised a smile! I love it when skinny teenagers stand next to me in pictures, makes you feel gooood doesn’t it!

Kim – I meant to say that I would be ok leaving Emmy for like 15 minutes here and there, I am sure that she is mature enough to be good, or just watch animal planet some more. Is she still doing that?

Jill – Glad your sleepover went well, congrats to JP for getting teeth! Shelby got 2 together and I think the next two are on the way, honestly she was like a little devil when she got those two teeth – wouldn’t eat, sleep, drink. So as you can probably tell I am really looking forward to having the next two come in! Not!

Robin – I am so clumsy and forgetful at the moment! I am blaming everything on pregnancy, I am sure that it will continue after the birth though so I am thinking what to do about that! :teeth: And no I have never been to DLP, I just don’t fancy it, not sure why I think I think of it as “not the real thing” as I have only ever been to WDW, my FIL has been and he wasn’t that impressed and didn’t think the CM’s were anywhere near as customer focused as WDW either.

Hillbeans – yup the baby is kicking like a maniac! He is very active and seems quite big compared to Shelby at 20 weeks. :yay:

GLT – How is Leif’s lip doing? Poor little guy, I only just read what happened with him. :grouphug:

Hi to the mommies that I missed.

Well I am at work right now, things don’t seem too bad, but my Manager hasn’t said anything to me and I am just keeping my head down and getting on with things. I have decided to stay here until I have finished my Maternity Leave and then look for something else, I don’t think that I can be doing with the hassle of this place for much longer. I have about 16 weeks before I finish for maternity leave so I guess it’s not too bad on that score.

I think I have a cold coming and my right eye is really irritating me, so I think I could have an eye infection or a sty or something there. Just what I need- as Robin would say oy oy oy! ;)

Happy Birthday, zalansky! :bday: :cake:

floridafam - I can't believe you guys had an earthquake yesterday! I'll have to have DH ask his FL relatives if they felt anything.

lissawynn - I hope you bought those ON maternity clothes. Sometimes you need to treat yourself.

Alice28 - I haven't read the Target circular yet and it's usually the first thing I go for in the Sunday paper. I'll have to check it out. Any toys on sale? I need something for one of my nephews (they turn one this week).

Hillbeans - I was :rotfl: at poor Kevin's haircut story. When we took Lucas for his first cut, it got only 1/2 done and we had to take him back.

zalansky - I love your pictures! Cameryn looks darling and you look fantastic! I like your birthday crown. I can definitely see that you look like the woman from Curb Your Enthusiasm. The Boardwalk view is amazing and I can't wait to go.

llij - Glad you survived the sleepover. Congrats to John on all those teeth!

ginamarie - I hope you can find your missing china.

nucpharm - Good luck with the garage door.

glt - I'm glad Leif's lips are healing. He is sooo cute and I don't blame you for wanting to squeeze and kiss him all day!

Gems - I hope your work situation gets better at least until your maternity leave.

I've got the Monday blahs. I think I need another cup of coffee. :surfweb:

I am so excited to shop for my buddy!!!! I picked a little something up at the store today and Emma said "oh, is that for ME!!" I had to explain that we were sending to a friend mommy made on the computer--she honestly looked at me as if I were an alien, and then tried to convince me that it was for her.

Too funny. :rotfl: I have the same kind of issues with Anna. I managed to get her off to school on time. This morning K class might be the death of me.

z, love the pictures. Makes me want to go to WDW right now. We almost bought the airfare for Jan yesterday, but DH hopes it will go down a bit.

So after dropping Anna off Lily and I came home. I decided to make Lily another of these Jones sausage patty that she loves. (frozen from cost co, we have 32 of them!) anyway I cooked it up in the same greasy pan as yesterday (because hey she needs more fat in her diet) Anyway as soon as I was done cooking the new fire detectors went off. When we built on to the house we had to hard wire them through out the house so the ALL were going off. And getting louder and louder. There was no place outside the house to put Lily that the sound wasn't freaking her out so I picked her up and put her right outside the side door and told her to wait there, don't move.

Before I could find the step to turn them off they stopped. Lily was standing right out side the door saying "I all done!"

What a way to start the morning.

Thanks for all the compliments on my hair, I don't think I have ever had so many before. I think the pictures look better then real life. Funny I just feel fake. Oh well, I will get used to it.

DisneyPhD- Sometimes fire alarms are soo annoying. They seem to get set off by the smallest thing, and then one time my mom actually started a fire on accident (she left oil heating in a pot and got distracted so she forgot to put the meatballs in with it) and the it took forever for the fire alarms to go off. We had already put it out by the time the thing started ringing. Luckily, all we lost was the pot!

Olivia and I are leaving for work in a few minutes. DH got up for work at some ungodly hour and we couldn't sleep to well afterwards, so it's been an early morning for us. Now if I can actually get some work done that would be incredible. So far I typed up one page of a document and spent about half an hour getting weepy over the 9-11 names being read. :guilty:

I bought myself the maternity clothes. I placed the order last night. I am getting a pretty good pay bump this year with our new contract, so I figure it's the "extra" money from this week's check.

I also have about $100 worth of stuff in my Gymbo basket. Jimmy has tons of pants from last spring that I got on sale. Since the Children's Place stuff seems to run big, he can wear those for a while. I mostly have long-sleeve onesies and that beautiful handknit sweater. I also have 2 tops for my nephew, whose bday is in a month. I'm gonna place the order later this afternoon.

We're having an evacuation drill next period. It's my prep and I'm gonna lose it b/c of this. This is what we do every 9/11.

gems - I hope you can hold out for 16 weeks. I can't understand why your manager is treating you so poorly.

SL - I hope that extra cup of coffee has turned things around for you.

DisPhD - I had to laugh at your fire detector story. Everytime my Nonnie (grandmother) would make toast, her smoke detector would go off. She was only about 5 ft. tall, and she'd whack at the think with a broom until it stopped beeping. Ah, the memories.

GLT - I hope your DH is better soon. There is nothing worse than a sick husband.

Alice - It sounds as though you got a lot of "fun" stuff done at home. It's never too early to start researching your trip to DLP!

zalansky - Your pics are great, and you look great, too. I love the view from your room. I'd love to stay at an Epcot resort, but we spend so much time at MK, it just seems that it would be a hassle lugging the kids and all of their stuff around.

nucpharm - Good luck with your garage door. Our old door used to get stuck, so we had to get a new one. I used to have to almost jump on the handle of the old one to get it to open.

Ginamarie - I hope you find your china. I have my great-great aunt's china boxed in our basement and can't wait until we have a dining room so I can actually put it out. The chances of my using it at slim, but it will look great in the new china cabinet I get to buy.

jill - I'm happy you survived the slumber party. Have a great week at school!

I'll be leaving for DC in a few minutes but hopefully I can catch up when I get home tonight. The wedding was great, aside from having to get there at 1:30 for pictures, but not being in an actual photo till after 3pm. We had to stand around with no chairs in sight from 1:30 till the ceremony was over right around 5pm. I had never been to a Jewish wedding before so it was really interesting to see their traditions, especially being in the bridal party cause I got the "behind the scenes" tour. My mom was kinda freaked out over watching my kids all day (I left here at 1pm and got home at 10:30) and she ended up using all of the diapers I brought, leaving me with 1 for last night and today. I put the kids to bed (she won't do that for some reason) and told her I had to go to the store so just listen for any noise and she said she did not want to deal with them waking up and crying so she'd rather go to the store herself. Of course she did like a million things first and I had to wait up for her to get home cause I needed the diapers for overnight so now I'm exhausted. I wish I could have just gone myself but she refused to stay here with my kids any longer. I hope I can make it through the drive without being too tired today.

Oh, and I ended up not getting any formula due to lack of time but I had more than enough milk pumped anyway. I had 15.5 oz when I left, fed him right before I left, and came home to about 8 oz. left. Of course I was also in incredible pain when I got home too and couldn't raise my arms above my chest  . Hopefully I can get back to normal sometime today.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LORETTA !!!!! :cool1: :goodvibes :cheer2:

I just love the pictures you posted - thanks for sharing. I love the picture of you and Cameryn with her big toothy smile! The family pic of the 4 of you is also really nice - you and your DH make a great looking couple!

The views from your hotel room are AWESOME! I can't believe how gorgeous everything looks from that high! I'm sure you had a wonderful trip!!!! Now you'll want to stay there every visit - I would too if I had a view like that!

Justhat- I am glad you had a nice time at the wedding. I HATE the picture time more than anything when you are in a wedding party. I hope your drive home today isn't too terrible and that you aren't too sleepy! :wizard: And that Henry will nurse a lot so your breasts can be relieved!

lissawynn- oh boy, drill time. That's always a treat. Glad you are doing some Gymbo shopping- I like the line they have for boys right now with the whales and the dogs...I think it's called Harbour something. I want to get Josh some stuff from that at Gymbuck redemption time. And Sam needs a new sweatshirt- I may have to grab one somewhere today. The one thing I didn't get him at BTS shopping time.

SL- hope another cup of joe cures the blahs for ya. I don't remember if there were toys in the target circular.... I'm kind of thinking no, but I could be wrong.

GLT- hope your DH is better soon...sick DHs are no fun! :p Glad the swelling is down in Leif's lip.

I hear Molly waking up....guess I need to scoot! Have a great morning everyone! (or afternoon I guess for most of you!).

OMGosh....I'm totally having a funny moment here...

I like to think of myself as a fairly detail oriented person. I'm NOT a perfectionist, but I tend to notice things that maybe slide by other people.

However, I just proved myself wrong this morning, as I am wiping down my kitchen countertops for the oh, 3,000th time. We bought this house 9 1/2 years ago. There were several things done to it half-a$$ed, but some we have fixed, some we didn't care about, some we will get to eventually. One thing I never noticed til just now- our two pieces of laminate countertop (one runs along one wall with the sink, stove and dishwasher and the other against another wall that is mostly just cabinets and where my microwave is)......THEY ARE TWO DIFFERENT PATTERNS AND COLORS!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I seriously cannot believe I never noticed this!

One is a gray, with some mottled beige coloring in it. They other is a slightly darker gray, with blue and beige flecks in it. Am I totally blind? But you know what, NO ONE else has ever noticed it either! Not Bob, not my parents, not my MIL....

One thing we were hoping to do next summer with our equity line we plan on taking out is new cabinets and countertops....um, yeah, that is DEFINITELY on my priority list now! :rotfl:

BTW, anyone have Corian? Do you like it? Any cons I should know about? It's what I have my heart set on. My mom has granite, and while gorgeous, I have always wanted a cobalt blue and white kitchen and we have chosen white cabinets and the cobalt blue Corian.

I have to post super fast - I just wanted to say hi to everyone!

Happy Birthday Cam, SL and Zalansky!!!

I need a diagnosis from some Dr. Moms on the board -

Tyler has a lump on his leg. It looks like bite, it has a tiny red dot in the middle. It's also hard as a rock! It's about the size of a dime. It's kinda creeping me out! Anyone ever had a bite that was a hard lump?

Hopefully I can catch up more later!

I hope everyone has a good day!

Tamie

OK, so DH drove himself to the hospital this a.m., I offered to take him, but he said no. . .anyway he has a kidney infection of sorts (blood in his urine) and is on an IV for antibiotics but expects to be home in another hour or so :guilty: guess I should have been a bit more compassionate :guilty: at least it sounds like he should be getting better soon

Will catch up more later.

ETA - Tamie, sounds like a spider bite, we have had a few of those in this house. Mix some baking soda with water to make a paste and put it on the bite, apparently it helps to take out the poison, it works for us. Good luck!

Tamie,

It does sound like a bug bite of some sort. I would put something on it. It might not hurt to give the Ped a call if it gets any worse. DS10 got cellulitis from a bug bit once but you could tell it was getting worse. Just keep an eye on it. :thumbsup2 :grouphug:

Robin,

Too funny about the counter :lmao: tops.

gottalovethem,

I'm sorry about your DH. :grouphug: Please keep us posted.

Robin - That's funny about your counters. We have a lovely white formica with a gold sunburst on it. I HATE it. We're going to tile the counters and backsplash next summer. The kicker is that they installed the formica first and put the cabinets OVER the formica. We either have to cut the formica at the base of the cabinets or remove the cabinets and then take down the formica. Guess which one I'm voting for?

Tamie - We've never had anything like that at our house. I'd call your ped. just to be safe. God forbid it's something like a tick bite.

GLT - Hope your hubby is better soon.

I have my meeting this afternoon for the kid with the issues. He wasn't in school today. Wonder if anyone will show for the meeting?

We also have our faculty meeting today. I have to take Harry (one of our cats) to the vet after school for his shots. Getting him into his carrier should be loads of fun.

Good afternoon all! Celeste had her first day of preschool today. She had a little trouble when I left her there, but was bubbly and full of excitement when I picked her up, so on balance I'd say it went well. It was nice having a couple hours with just Luke--maybe next time I'll actually do some cleaning! Instead, I chatted on the phone with w friend--quality "me" time is hard to come by in this house.

justthat--glad the wedding went well. I've been to a few Jewish weddings that weren't nearly as long as you describe--probably a different branch of the faith.

Robin--that's so funny about your counters. And you know, in my dream kitchen, I would have the cobalt blue counters and white cabinets. I just love a blue and white kitchen, for some reason. Our kitchen is in desperate need of updating, but I don't want to seriously think about it until Luke is ~ preschool age--I just can't think about it until we're close to being ready to do it, and that's not for a few years. In our old house, we redid the kitchen with light blue walls, yeallow curtains, and blue and white ceramic tile coutnertops. I loved that kitchen, but the rest of the house was too small for our growing family. Now, I have light blue walls (probably the same shade--I just love blue!), white cabinets, and greenish-yellow, very attractive (ha ha!) formica. The work half is tile flooring and the eating half has wide pine board flooring.

Kim--a thought on leaving yoru DD home alone. Consider doing a couple "practice runs" beforehand. By that, I mean, you be home, but unavailable--in your room or back yard or someplace. Have her practice letting herself in, getting a snack, starting her homework, whatever your typical routine is. That way, she can see if she's comfortable doing these things without you there. Jocelyn has been staying home alone for brief periods for a few months now--no way would I leave her all day, but some of her friends do that. She said it was a big thrill for the first 5 minutes, then she got involved with something and forgot I wasn't there. Another thought is, if you have a neighbor nearby who might keep an eye out, maybe your DD could get off the bus, enter the house, and have a "signal", like adjusting a windowshade, that the neighbor could check for. Or even set your cell to vibrate, and have her call you and let it ring once to let you know she's safely home. This wouldn't disrupt your meeting, but you would know she's okay. Good luck--it's hard letting them grow up.

glt--Hope your husband feels better soon, and doesn't whine like a little girl while he's healing. I know MY DH always does!

Oh, for the pancake lovers--I had the best pancakes at Kona Cafe last week. They had chopped macadamia nuts mixed into the batter, and then they put crushed pineapple on top. They topped that off with butter that was mixed with more chopped nuts. They were SOOOO good! I have mac nuts on my shopping list to try to duplicate them--it seemed like basic pancake mix, and you didn't even need syrup with the sweet pineapple. And you could sprinkle more mac nuts on top if you're too lazy to soften the butter and mix them in. Anyway, I thought I'd throw that out there for anyone doing a Hawaiian breakfast.

We had play auditions yesterday, and I'm just hoping Jocelyn gets a dancing part. It's "The Secret Garden", in case I didn't mention that, and the lead girl went to Julia, Robert's little girlfriend, the one he broke up with because she's a Yankees fan. They've worked out their difference on that. Anyway, she's a sweet kid, and has a lovely voice--wins all the talent shows. Her mother was less thrilled, because of the practice time involved--she's on stage a lot. But I'm sure she'll do great.

Well, I should go get some work done around here while it's blessedly quiet. Take care, all!

glt - I hope your DH feels better soon.

tkyes - Sounds like a spider bite to me, too. Does Tyler seem to be in any pain from it? I hope it's not serious.

BnB - Glad Celeste's first day of preschool went well.

Alice28 - Too funny about your countertops! Cobalt and white sound great together.

justhat - Glad the wedding went well. My friend is Jewish but she married a Christian guy so they were married by a JP since they couldn't agree on a ceremony.

lissawynn - I'm glad you bought yourself those clothes! I hope you enjoy them.

Not too much is going on around here, but I have a few minutes of down time here at work so I thought I'd check in. Enjoy the rest of your afternoon!

Hi everyone and thanks for the continued well wishes. You all are so sweet! :goodvibes

My friend called this morning and asked if I wanted to go to Chili's for lunch, so that was a very welcomed surprise and it was good to see her. She is a friend from high school that moved to Tampa a few years ago. Plus she treated, even better! :thumbsup2

I am still on for my research panel group tonight for my $100. I am determined to go so we can add the dining plan when we go to Disney at the end of November. We'll only be there 2 days and the dining plan will be $170 for all 3 of us. Plus we can use it for the CP dinner package! :cloud9:

Anyhoo - GLT - hope your DH feels better soon. I sure know how men can be. Mine is the worst, every time he has an ache or pain, it is some form of cancer. He makes me angry at times and as a matter of fact we are going through it right now. Annoying! Anyway I hope he feels better soon.

Alice - funny about the counters! :lmao:

tkyes - I am thinking maybe a spider bite too? Definitely keep an eye on that and let us know what happens. I hope it is nothing serious. Thanks for the bday wishes!

Hillbeans - you are right! I want to stay at Boardwalk every trip. I still miss our room...I am such a sap. I miss walking down to the bakery every morning...though my thighs don't. The cheese danish there is to DIE FOR.

BNB - I will keep my fingers crossed that Jocelyn gets that part in the play! Also glad Celeste's first day of pre-school went well. It can be harder for us parents most of the time I think.

Hi everyone else! :wave2: I better run. My Disney Shopping box just arrived with our new polos in it and I want to check them out!! Hope you all have a wonderful day!
