My mom called and she got the job! Also, we heard great things about our contractor from the local building supplier who sells him his materials. DH has to call him AGAIN with a few more questions, but we're looking like things are a go as soon as we can get the money from the bank! :cool1:

Alice28 - Hope that headache is doing better. Don't over do it. I can't wait to see pics of your rooms.

val - Feel free to use the shirt design. I can email you the word document if you want. If you want something girlier for Katrina, let me know and I'll see if I can put something together.

As far as baby shower ideas: set a kitchen timer to go off every so often and whoever's gift is being opened when it dings wins a gift. It keeps people interested - watching someone else open gifts (no matter how cute they are) gets boring sometimes. Baby Shower Bingo works really well, too.

bnb - Are these boys in the ballroom class there of their own free will or did their parents drag them there? Either way, I think it's a great idea! I hope Jocelyn doesn't find them too gross to dance with.

lissawynn - I've been watching GH too. I even record it when I'm not home. So sad. Can you believe all the affairs going on? I have a feeling there will be a few new additions if you know what I mean.

floridafam - Good luck to your parents.

J&D - Great baby shower ideas!

DH is bringing me home some Chinese for dinner! Tuesdays he eats at his parents so it was either that or I make myself grilled cheese.

FF_ I hope your parents are doing OK.

lissawynn- YAY for your mom!

Here are some pics. First is Molly's room, then our room (you can see the storage closet door open- I can't shut it cause so much is crammed in there right now), the world's narrowest staircase and then the boy's room. I forgot to put the flash on for the boy's room so the pics are blurry....and half their map carpet is cut off by their bed. The room is so small we couldn't do it any other way...sorry lower 1/3 of the US!

WARNING - IN-LAW VENT!!

Ugh. DH just came home early because BOTH his parents were giving him crap. First, his dad. Now, maybe I'm extra sensitive because I'm PMSing, but I don't appreciate people criticizing my parenting. Lucas eats dinner there so I packed Gerber Pasta Pickups. All Lucas will eat, dinner-wise, is deli ham and cheese cubes so I consider anything I find that he'll eat that isn't actual baby food a big plus. Well, FIL doesn't like it because it's from a "can". Now, they don't make their own food from scratch and certainly don't stock food for Lucas (I even have to pack crackers when he goes over there) so what I send will have to be good enough. My problem? Keep your opinions to yourself.

DH's mother is currently laying a guilt trip on him because we declined an invitation to his cousin's babies' (twins) baptism. Not only is it Labor Day weekend, but we have a cookout to go to. I couldn't go to her shower so I sent a gift off her registry. I never got a thank you note for that so I considered the gift giving to be done. I later found out her thank you notes were pasted onto the shower favors and since I didn't go, I didn't get one. I personally find this very tacky and I'm sorry if any of you did that - I really don't mean to be rude about it. But she didn't even acknowledge that she received the gift I sent. So MIL is mad because we're not even sending a gift. I'm sorry, but we're not close at all and if you're not going to follow simple etiquette rules, I'm not going to go out of my way and spend my money on you.

DH is talking to her now so I can't wait to find out how this is resolved.

Alice28 - I love the pictures of the rooms! That Mickey curtain is great!

I hope everyone is having a good evening!

Hi Moms! :goodvibes

I’m so behind on this thread so I will try to catch up as best I can. Please forgive me if I forget anyone! I hope that Gretchen and DisKim are having a blast at WDW! :cloud9:

Lissawynn – Congrats to your mother on her job offer. :thumbsup2 That is wonderful news! It is also great that your contractor is a good one. I hope that you all can get moving on the new addition to the house soon.

SL – Your shirt design is great! You should do that professionally! That is great that the manufacturer can send you a replacement part for Lucas’ slide. I just saw your post about the IL’s. Ugh! I think you don’t need to send another gift for the Baptism since you already sent one for the shower. Sorry to hear that your IL’s are being a pain.

Justhat – How is Henry doing? How are you, Madison and Joey doing?

Floridafam – I will keep you and your parents in my prayers. Have you heard how everything went today?

Robin – How are you feeling? I hope that the migraine is gone. It sounds like you’ve gotten so much done in your house today! Your pictures of the new carpet are beautiful. I love the colors on the walls too!

Zalansky – Good luck with selling on E-bay!

Tasha – Good luck in school! How was your first day?

J&D – Oh, I am so bummed that we will miss each other at WDW!

Val – Good luck planning the baby shower! It sounds like you got some great ideas for baby shower games already! I’m glad to hear that Katrina is sleeping better for you too!

Hi to Cabmom! It is great to hear from you! I’m glad to hear that Dean is doing well.

DisneyPhD – Happy Belated Anniversary! My dh and I have been married for 13 years too!

BNBmom – Too funny about Jocelyn and the brownie spatter. The girls have been trying to learn how to cook this summer and I am finding that my kitchen has been redecorated in many areas with food splatters.

Joats – It is great to hear from you! I love the pictures of Jace. His eyes look great!

Ryan840 – I love the pictures of the kids! Was that an air show you all were at? I have fond memories of going to air shows all the time when I was little.

Ginamarie – Happy Anniversary to your grandparents! How was the outlet shopping today?

Gems – It is great to hear from you! It sounds like you have been very busy too! How have you been feeling? I’m glad to hear that Shelby is sleeping better for you.

Bellacam – Great pictures from Aidan’s birthday. That baseball cake is a great idea!

Hillbeans – Do you guys have reservations for the CBR next Easter? My neighbors stayed there a few years back and really enjoyed it. They are going to WDW at the end of next week and they are going to try Coronado Springs out this time. I’ll let you know how they like it! How has Liam been sleeping lately?

Nucpharm – It is great to hear from you too! Any more news on the cable hook up?

GLT – How are you doing? Don’t feel bad about your kids. Your kids sound like they are super kids and you are definitely a wonderful mom. I think as moms, we all have those moments where our kids do things that make us scratch our heads and say ‘hey, didn’t I teach you manners?” John is too little yet to embarrass me (give him time and he will!), but the girls have done things in the past that left me with my jaw on the floor. Hang in there!

Hi to everyone! Has anyone heard from Tamie? :wave2:

The girls and I got haircuts today. Meagan has long hair and she is dying to get it cut really short. The mean mom that I am, I wouldn’t let her. She did lose about 3 inches and had layers put in it. It looks pretty cute! :teeth:

I should go to bed soon too. I haven’t slept very well the past two nights which makes for a long day for me. Dave is in NYC tonight and won’t be back until tomorrow night. It is strange to not have him around. :guilty:

Tomorrow, will be a big packing day since I still have a lot of stuff to take care of before we leave on Thursday. The girls and I have these little tiny suitcases and John has two medium ones. For such a little guy, he sure needs a lot of stuff. Robin, I promise to ride the Storybook Land ride for you! That ride is so cute! :cloud9:

Everyone have a great evening!

SL- I would be mad too- being a parent is hard enough sometimes, without lumping criticism on top of it. Esp from a set of grandparents! Lots of kids go thru phases where they only like certain foods. Right now M. is driving me nuts because she loves MEAT, but I have a really hard time getting her to eat veggies and some fruits. My boys at this age would eat tons of produce and it's bugging me that she doesn't go ga-ga over it. And if my parents or my MIL pointed that out, I think I would scream.

And about the baby shower- I think that's pretty darn tacky about the thank you notes- how is that personal? 'Thank you for coming to my shower- I wrote this a week ahead of time so I have no idea what you gave me and how thoughtful it was, but thanks.' That's lame. I wouldn't send another gift either- I mean, enough is enough. The only people who I give more than one baby gift to are my good, good friends or relatives....not just acquaintances or distant relatives. :confused3

I know I didn't get to a lot of the posts this afternoon- I was in such a haze. I was ready to either throw up or cry by the time it was time to get the boys from swim camp. So I came home- they ran to play with friends and I bit my lip and gave myself a shot. Then, I don't usually do this, I fell fast asleep for about 45 minutes. Molly just played and the boys are now at a different neighbors...I had a bit of a panic when I didn't realize where they were. But that's the thing about this neighborhood- there are 4-5 different houses they can play at, right on our dead end, where I know they are safe. And they never go anywhere else than just our dead end. That's what is making it so hard to even think about moving....I can't buy this location again, you know? DH is looking at a house on the other side of the neighborhood that I noticed yesterday. But that is $350; we paid $125 for this! Granted, our mortgage would probably be for about $265K, but what a jump that would be in what we pay monthly. I just don't know. :sad2: In the news today it said that although nationwide the housing market has slowed, the NW jumped 17% of what home prices are compared to last July. And are still selling fast. It's def. a seller's market and we could probably sell our house for $240K in two days.

:confused3

Robin,
The new carpet looks great :sunny: . I love the boy's room with the walls, the Mickey curtain, everything :thumbsup2 ! Personally, I would stay where you are and spend the extra cash on vacations but that's just me ;) . I hope the headache is feeling better.

Jill,
Good luck with the packing tomorrow :wizard: . It's amazing how much baby's need, isn't it?

SL,
I agree your in-laws should keep their opinions to themselves. I think sometimes in-laws have trouble seeing their grown children as adults with their own families instead of just kids. And I agree tacky about thank-yous pre-written.

Lissawynn,
Congrats to your mom :cheer2: ! She must be very excited about her new job :goodvibes . I hope everything works out with the contractor so they can start work on your house asap before you are too far along. I know it will be a pain but think of how amazing it will be when it's done :thumbsup2 .

BnB,
Too cute about Jocelyn and the brownies. I'm sure she had a blast making them :) . I made homemade mac and cheese with my ds for dinner and he loved making it :) . Dance camp sounds really neat.

J&D,
Thanks for all the info on rewards sites. I'm tempted to do the Blockbuster for a month even though we have netflix and really like their service. It's a very nice payout to try it.

FF,
Prayers said for your parents :grouphug: . I hope this whole thing is over quickly for them.

Thanks everyone for all the great ideas for the baby shower :thumbsup2 ! I appreciate them. I think I'm going to go with guess the baby food flavor, the mystery items from the diaper bag, the tv kids name one (I'll probably just make up my own because that is one thing I know a lot about ;) ), the egg timer, and maybe have a special marking on one of the candle favors and that person gets a prize. That should be enough games without making people sick of them. It's a real close knit group and there are only 8 of us so I know they'll be good sports.

BB was interesting tonight. I won't give too much away but I will say that I wish I had had warning about Scott "PD" making an appearance :lmao: ! I had forgotten all about him.

Hope everyone has a great night  !

I am so tired right now and about ready to crash for the night but I thought I'd tell you all how today went. Besides, it looks like this program is going to keep me pretty busy from what was explained today. So who knows how often I will be able to get on here after this.

Today was basically just a standard, orientation-type 1st day. It was nothing major but it seemed sooo long since we didn't do much except go over the outlines, requirements, etc.! I was there from 7:40-2:15 and then they let us leave an hour early. BUT I didn't actually get to leave as I had to get books and waited in line for an hour to buy those. Over $600 later and I am all set! You would not believe the amount of books required for just 3 classes in this major. I have 4 huge books, a packet of notes, and 2 workbooks JUST FOR 1 CLASS! I have quite a few more for the other 2 as well. Anyway, that is not counting the 2 online, non-required 'fluff' classes that I start on Monday, just the 3 I have to go to campus for on Tues. and Thurs.! But thankfully I have already bought the books for those so I should be set on books for everything now.

Anyway, the best part about today is that they fed us what seemed like an almost gourmetish type breakfast so that was nice. AND we were told that the HOSA (Health Occupations Students Association...I think I got that right!) competition this year is going to be held at WDW! I am able to go if I join HOSA and want to compete but I don't know all the details about that yet. It sounds intriguing though, doesn't it?! I may have to compete! ;)

But other than being at school all day for orientation, nothing else happened. I am just really tired though. We actually start classes seriously on Thurs. when we meet again so today and tomorrow are probably my last days without having any assignments to do. This course looks like it will be a lot of work but well worth it! So wish me luck!

As far as Kylie, she did so great! She cried when I dropped her off this morning but I expected her to. I watched through the window and saw her teacher calm her down within seconds with a toy so that made me feel a lot better.

When I picked her up they were changing her diaper. Then after she was changed I held her and talked to the director a few minutes. She told me that Kylie did so great and she was impressed. She slept on a kindermat at naptime with no problems and ate at a little kiddie-sized table (NOT a highchair!) with the other toddlers and did fine with that. She said she ate pretty good and seemed excited to be eating at the table like a big girl.

When we were leaving Kylie looked back at Ms. Nicole (the owner/director) and smiled and waved and said bye-bye to her. She also did that to 2 other teachers and a couple of the other kids. She seemed to really enjoy it there! And the cutest part is that the director has a little boy about 7 weeks older than Kylie and she said that he and Kylie hit it off immediately and played together all day long. I keep teasing dh about Kylie's new boyfriend but he isn't too amused! ;)

There is another little girl in Kylie's class with the same name but they spell it Kyleigh so she said that it was a little confusing today because they had to call them Kylie J. and Kyleigh B. to try to differentiate between the 2 but of course the toddlers didn't understand that and both Kylies/Kyleighs kept looking at them every time they'd call one of them! *Sidenote: Her name wasn't even popular when I was preg. and now there are Kylies everywhere! And they all seem to be the same age as my Kylie so she will probably go to school with several of them and have to be called Kylie J. all the time. Figures, huh?*

When we got home from daycare Kylie was so happy and in a great mood and played hard for about an hour. Then I fed her and bathed her and she was so sleepy after that. She told daddy night-night and headed for her room so I took the hint and put her to bed. She was asleep by 7 p.m. I usually put her to bed around 9 but I expected her to go to bed early tonight since she got up 2 hours earlier than she's used to.

Anyway, this is getting long. Sorry! I am just so happy with how well Kylie has seemed to adjust to going to daycare so far and was excited to share! My mom always tells me it isn't fair because she thinks I have the perfect child. (She hasn't seen her temper tantrums lately though, lol!) And MIL and FIL say the same thing so they didn't act surprised when I told them that she gave up the bottle easily or when she gave up the binky without a fight. They also weren't surprised that she did so well at daycare. I think she's a pretty good kid too (most of the time) but I won't lie. She isn't perfect...and I was worried! ;)

Okay, must sleep! Night!

Val- thank you for saying that about the house; it's what I needed to hear. Only like 15% of me wants a bigger house....the rest of me just wants to stay here and spend $60,000 to make this house a dream. And thank you for the compliments of the rooms- the carpet just feels so great. Our old carpet was just hideous. Just cheap grade carpet with about, oh, 16,000 stains on it. The kids are upstairs playing in Molly's new room- it's so spacious with just the baby furniture in there- lots of room to play.

OK- BB is on now!

I cannot fall asleep tonight for the life of me. I did manage to eat three cookies and a swig of milk. I'm sure that will help. ;)

Alice - I think your rooms look great. Part of me would like to move to a "newer" house and not have to deal with renovations. The rest of me loves the fact that our house payments are so manageable and we can pick up and do whatever we want without having to worry about money. If we decide to go out for dinner, we're not regretting it for the rest of the month.

SL - I think that at this age, whatever Lucas eats that isn't coated in sugar is great. DH is the one who gets on my case about what I feed him, specifically the amount of Goldfish he eats. The kid loves hot dogs and chicken nuggets. I buy the best, most nutritious ones I can find or make my own chicken. He also loves fruit, so I give him as much of that as I can. I don't feed him GF instead of food but kind of like a reward when he does eat all of the other stuff.
As far as the thank-you note, I agree that's totally tacky. It took a while, but I did all of my notes for my bridal shower, wedding, and baby shower by hand. After Jimmy was born and all of our visitors brought gifts, I wrote those notes in between midnight feedings and everything else.

Tasha - I'm so happy that you had a good day at school and that Kylie had a great day at daycare. You must feel so much better knowing she's getting great care and is having a good time.

Val - I'm glad you got lots of good ideas for the shower. I used the tv section of imdb.com to get some obscure tv shows with kids. I also did some older shows for the older ladies at the shower.

Jill - I hope you get a good night's sleep. Have a great trip to DL!

T16Gem- Olivia is 4 months now. The drooling is a huge thing now because she keeps sucking on her fingers. I know I have some more bibs around here somewhere, but things are getting harder and harder to find as I pack.

SL- I love the tee shirt design! Why must in laws be so difficult? I’m sorry yours were giving you trouble today!

Lissawynn- How funny.. one of the other options for Olivia’s name was Annabelle. Seems like you have both of them covered :) That chili sounds delicious. I’m such a sucker for spicy foods.

Alice- Gosh that carpet sounds luxurious! The rooms look great.

Tasha- Sounds like Kylie’s doing great in her new environment. That’s really good news!

Not too much to report today. DSis got her braces adjusted this morning and then we headed to the outlet mall. We had all the kids along, so it took a LOT longer than usual. (most of the time I just stop at the mall on my way back from the courthouse out there and I’m alone so it’s a lot easier). We had a good time though. Mom got a bunch of things she was looking for (some clothes at Chicos, shoes, new dance bags for the girls). I was able to restrain myself from spending $$ which was good.

I did want to find some more soft terrycloth pajamas for Olivia (I bought a couple at Carters ages ago, and she loves sleeping in them- I think because they’re so warm and soft). I can’t find them though! Carters only makes them up to size 9 months, and I need the bigger ones for when she outgrows the current pairs. I had no idea it would be so tough to find them. Mom said she may have seen some at BJs, so I’ll have to check there.

I was able to find a really nice terry cloth shower curtain for the new house at Pottery Barn. It’s a multicolored striped one. Mom bought me a set of matching towels for my birthday, so now I have both bathrooms decorated (one in stripes and the other with Nemo).

Grandpa turned 86 today, so we hung out with him some more after the shopping spree. It’s a happy week for us with the birthdays and his anniversary. Tomorrow is all about work work and more work! Right now I need to get to bed. I’m way behind on sleep this week.

Good morning all! I just had to tell you all that Jocelyn's brownies came out really, really chewy. Good thing we have strong teeth! They taste okay, though--I think she overmixed them, as well as cooking them a little too long. But, live and learn, and anything chocolate has a short shelf life in this house.

Celeste managed to walk 3 miles last night! We're so proud of her. She didn't even whine at all (although she did need a bathroom stop). We had promised her ice cream sundaes if she completed 3 miles. So, I think htis kid is ready for Disney!

SL--It seems like a lot of grandparents have "food issues". Between the "they didn't have that when you were growing up" and the "how come he's not in the clean plate club", we get a lot of crap here from MIL. But I think these days, moms are less likely to pick that battle and just go with what kids will eat.

Val--Yeah, BB should warn us before showing PD streaking again! All I could think of was PD! PD!

Robin--I'm fond of saying that the best mortgage to have is the one that will let you sleep through the night. It's so easy to drool over nicer, bigger homes--we have several going up right around us these days, and a couple are HUGE! I like older houses, and ours has really good bones, but needs updating desperately. That'll be my main project once Luke gets older. And there are down sides to bigger houses--the heating and upkeep costs, not to mention that you have more to clean. Plus, you aren't as compelled to throw things out, so you accumulate more crap.

Tasha--That's so nice that Kylie really adjusted well to the daycare. One less thing for you to stress about! And the center sounds very nice and well-run.

Hey everyone I kind of managed to keep up ! Woohoo!

Tasha - I am glad that you enjoyed your first day of school and that Kylie enjoyed it in the day care it's cute that she liked her teachers and a boyfriend already! Sheesh! ;)

Robin - Your house is looking great, I love the Mickey curtain, I hope your head is better today, I hate headaches and I seem to be getting them a lot more this pg than I did last time.

SL- Glad you got the part for the slide for Lucas, that would have been a PITA if they wouldn't send you a replacement. I just noticed in your new sig pic that Lucas has got a "Hand Digger" we got some of these for out nephew when we went to Jersey - to be honest he didn't quite get them but he loved the spade and bucket that we gave him too so I guess it wasn't that bad!

Ginamarie- Yay for shopping! I know how your DSis feels I had braces for about 5 years, I think it's worth it in the end though.

Jill - How did you sleep last night - better I hope?

hi to all the other moms that I am missing

Warning VENT ahead! :)
I don't know if I have told you guys before that I work for a construction company and we are currently building an Isle of Capri Casino and that is the job that I am based on, I work in the office as a Buyer but I do have to go out on site sometimes which I enjoy, so heres the deal I have been sent to work on site ( I usually work from our head office ) and today I have come back to the head office to do some printing of contracts and stuff and nobody is speaking to me, I mean like co-workers that I have worked with for like 5 years are ignorning me like I have grown another head or have the plague or something! WTH I am just getting on with my work but it's hard when you feel disliked by people that I honestly thought were friends - I mean they came to my wedding for goodness sake?? :confused3 I don't know if it's b/c I am pg and they just found out and obviously don't like it that I will be off again and maybe they will haveto cover my work or whether it's that they wanted to get on the Casino job (there is a lot of rivalry over the more prestigious jobs) it's just annoying the heck out of me this morning!!

Ahh that's better vent over

On a lighter note I am trying to scan my us picture into the computer so that I can post it but it appears to have gone missing at the moment??! DOH so I will try again later and hopefully you can all see little bubba!

Sleeping was a total wash. I think I managed something under 6 hours, which for me lately, is terrible. My sciatic nerve has my entire left leg throbbing and numb in some spots. Also, it doesn't help when DH and the recycling truck are making tons of noise in the morning while I'm trying to sleep.

Jimmy is going to dad's today while I go to my appointment, Target, and the VB store. I broke down and got myself the new lunch bag and mini i.d./wallet thingie. It will make it easier than carrying a huge purse to work everyday. I also get some kind of free key fob with a coupon from the catalogue. It will be kind of nice to get out alone for a change.

Gems - I'm sorry your co-workers were rude to you. I hope they lighten up.

Ginamarie - Sounds like a great day shopping. I'm just realizing that I'll have a new bathroom to set up, plus a much bigger bedroom, and an additional baby's room. Another reason I'm pulling for another boy; I already have all the boy crib stuff!

BnB - I'm glad the brownies turned out ok. Sometimes they get chewy depending on how long you bake them.

Did I tell you all last fall our dog started to lose his toenails? It was right around this time last year, and Duke was constantly gnawing at his paws. Then he began to lose his nails and bleed all over the house. I took him to the vet, spend almost $300 for a biopsy of his nail, only to find out he had some kind of wacky disorder where his body attacked his toenails. Well, he lost most of the nails, but then they grew back.
Well, he started gnawing again yesterday and the nails are starting to come off again. I tried to trim off the parts that were coming free. I think he must have some kind of allergy that's triggered at this time of year.

Good Morning!

Tasha- glad you had a good first day of school! Ouch on the book costs! They're a killer, aren't they! And I hate to say it, but versions of Kylie/Kyla/Kayla/Kya were EXTREMELY popular when I did daycare a few years ago. "K" names in particular just seems to be hot, same with "J" names. :confused3 So, I think Kylie might often have classmates with the same or similar names.

BNB- thank you for the house encouragement. Our house has some really good qualities too. Good bones, as you said. And for the first time since we bought this home, do we have a significant amount of extra money every month. Do I really want to go and dump it into an expensive mortgage? Not really. I am proud that our mortgage is under $1,000! Are you getting more ready for your trip? I hope the brownies were tasty. I think I have a box somewhere- maybe I will make some later.

Gems- your coworkers sound like bratty children. I hope they lighten up and start behaving civilized again.

GM- that shower curtain sounds really nice! I hate it that those cozy terrycloth jammies only go to 9 months. They are so cuddly.

Jill- I can't believe you are leaving tomorrow! Have a wonderful, fantastic time. I can't wait to hear all about it, and see pictures too. The parade at DL is WONDERFUL- the one at DCA, not so much. I wouldn't waste your time to make a point of seeing it, but def see the one at DL! :) I hope your flight goes smoothly and that the kids are happy during it.

lissawynn- sorry sleeping was a wash for you. Me too. My headache came back in the night and I had DH give me another shot before he left....but 3 of the 4 syringes he tried squirted out before he could give them to me- defective. He's taking them to his work today, since the pharmacy is right there. Hopefully I can get a replacement, as the meds are expensive right now under his temporary coverage.

I'm sorry your doggy is having toe nail problems. That's so strange!

That chili you made sounded so good- I saw some people getting those nachos at WCC last fall and they looked so great! I miss WDW food!

my work day is getting worse by the second! I have just gone to open my filing cabiinet to file some stuff (duh obviously! ) and someone has taken over my space and filled it with their stuff!!??? Oh no I am going to :furious: soon and I am in danger of just chucking their stuff on the floor! Mores to the point where have the things of mine that were already in there gone?? :sad2:

Robin - Sorry your shots went wrong what a pain I hope that your DH can get them replaced at the pharmacy.

Lissawynn - I agree with Robin your dogs toe nail problem is weird! :rotfl:

I probably won't get on here now until Saturday or Sunday so Jill have a great trip and I can't wait to hear all of the details and see pics etc!

Hi all!

I just wanted to say HI! I don't know why things are so busy around here lately, but I just haven't had time to sit down and catch up with all these posts.

Tyler is at daycare today and I'm working at home so hopfully I can check in this afternoon.

I hope all is well!!

Tamie

ps - Is anyone doing the mypoints backpack thing? I just spent 20 minutes looking for that stupid backpack and can't find it! :confused3

Hi mommies!

Vald – Good luck with the baby shower. I am planning my sisters right now. She’s due on 11/3 and so far all we have is a theme – Rubber Duckies. I found a really cute rubber ducky cake pan I am going to make an attempt at.

J&D – Great shower ideas! I’ll be using some of those as well!

BNB – Hope you enjoyed the zoo!

Lissawynn – Glad the job worked out for your mom. Good luck with the contractors. We have been trying to get someone to redo our front porch and no one wants to bother with such a small job. I noticed your chili post, are you feeling better these days? I hope things are going ok for you. How far along are you now?

Robin – The carpets look great. I love the bedroom color too!

SL – My in-laws drive me crazy a lot too. They are much older than my parents and have a hard time respecting our wishes when it comes to what is and is not ok for Aidan. I love the shirt design too!

Jill – Good luck packing!

Tasha – Glad you are enjoying school. I am really looking forward to going back next fall, too!

Whoops, my little guy is up. I’ll finish catching up later!

Hi everybody! I mentioned a while back that DH and I really wanted to move home to Phoenix. I had an interview and got a wonderful job at an insurance agency in Scottsdale. I'm finished with my last day of work in Austin and today am home trying to finish up packing. I can't believe the truck will be here in 48 hours to haul it all away! I'm just taking a quick break - if you are reading this DH - I promise it will be quick!!

Robin - The house is lovely, I really like the colors and you have some beautiful details in trim. I have struggled with the house thing too, wanting some things to be a little different but the market in Austin is just now starting to pick up, and a bit too late for it to be of great benefit to us.

We sold quickly at the lower end of what we could have sold for, but it was done in 4 days and we are closing tomorrow. I feel like in the long run it will be better for us so that the whole family is together. The idea of DH staying here while the rest of us move was not a happy thought.

Grandparents are funny - and frustrating too!! DH's parents often feel they should share what we are doing "wrong" with us. Ironically his SM didn't join the family until DH was 14 and has never had kids. Wonder how she got so smart about toddlers???

It is great to drop by and see all the pictures of everyone and the kids. I can't believe how fast they are growing. We have WDW trip photos up on the family site at http://public.fotki.com/ahutton1/ The girls did the Jedi photo and it is a favorite. We can almost see what Caitlyn will look like when she's all grown up!

Robin~ Yeah, the k names have always been hot. Heck, I have always been pretty partial to names that begin with k myself. But Kylie was not one of the popular names in our area until just recently. The popular version was Kaylee. Still close to Kylie but not the same exact name at least. Kylie was really pretty much unheard of in this area until recently. It seems that all the ones I am hearing about in our area were all born in 2005! Except 1 who was born in 2003 but she's the only 'older' one I know about. I am sure there are more though. It just hasn't been quite as common as Kaylee, and Haylee in our area...until now. But I expected that to happen. I guess all the other moms to Kylies thought they were naming their kid a name that wasn't too popular as well. I was going to name Kylie something like Skylar or Teagan originally. I bet there wouldn't have been so many of those around here, lol! But then who knows!? ;) Ironically, Kayla was REALLY popular until a few years ago and it seems to be dwindling down now. I guess it's being replaced by Kylie, lol!

Hi, ahutton! I'm glad the interview worked out! Good luck on your move!

Bridget~ When do you start school? What will you be majoring in?

Well, geez, Kylie just woke up from the world's shortest nap ever. I hope she will take another one later. Hi to everyone else! I have to go tend to Her Highness now. I probably won't be back today or tomorrow. So I will no doubt be really far behind again by the time I check back in. :( ;)
