Another drive by post from me!

WEll, I think I have almost everything I need for the party tomorrow, except for balloons and we'll pick those up tomorrow morning. House is clean, food and drinks purchased--now if I can just muster up the strength to make 2 pots of chili after a 5 mile run tomorrow morning--luckily I'm doing both kinds in crockpots (have to make a w/bean and w/o bean). Boy, I sound like a big whiner here--I'm the one who planned this party in the 1st place, guess I don't have any right to complain! Well, I'm sure we'll be taking lots of pics tomorrow, so you guys will get to see my little man diving into some cake! If I don't get on tomorrow (fat chance, right?) have a great weekend! :sunny:

Everyone, do the WOO HOO dance with me! :woohoo: :woohoo: I got 3 pairs of Crocs, 3 rolls of wrapping paper, gift bags, tissue, cards, holiday trinkets and more for $58.00!!!!!!!!!! Three pairs of Crocs! One for DH for Christmas, one to set aside for WDW and a new pair to have on hand. I am so tempted to go back and get some for the boys, as they had kid's Crocs too. My mom is going on Sunday and I might ask her to pick them up some. I'm so excited! I was going to order the same exact Crocs (flip flops) on ShoeMall for $60 for only two pairs.

Then I went to Crate and Barrel and couldn't browse as Molly was being a poop, but got 10 new dinner plates with my FREE gift card I got with AMEX bonus points. I love shopping days like this! Then we got some Baja. Whew! What fun!

Kim- I will keep my ears out about the HS Musical tour- I think there is a whole thread about it on the Comm Board or the Budget board. Josh was a BEAR on the monorail when he was 20 months- I mean FREAKING out when we got to sit with the pilot. It was a longgggg trip back from Epcot with that little fart child that time. I think I will send DH with all 3 kids for that adventure- I love how he always sticks the baby with Momma.

Nucpharm- Happy Birthday to Matthew!!!!!!! I hope his party is great fun tomorrow. And WTG on the running! I laid off the exercising this week with all the cramping and such with that test. Time to get back on the wagon.

Diz- Have fun chaperoning Rec night! That should be interesting! You'll have to fill us in when it's done.

Tamie- sorry you didn't get as much time away as you wanted last night. You're lucky to see all the Christmas decorations~ Bob went 3 years ago at Christmas time when he was at a 2 week conference in Orlando and he took a few pictures- wow, did it look so neat! Even with all the times I have been to DL, I have not gone at Christmas-time. Maybe our next trip we can plan around that time....that would be so fun!

OK, well I need to go hide the Crocs I bought for DH, before the boys come home. They love any excuse to go into the basement cause they know some Christmas gifts are down there....it would be fine if they just wanted to peek (they are wrapped already) but Joshua always throws a FIT and wants to open one NOW... :sad2:

HI Everyone

TGIF!

Thanks to everyone for sharing all of their Halloween pics - we've got a great looking group of DIS babies and mommies/daddies/siblings!

This weekend my husband is going to a Steelers game in Pittsburgh on Sunday, and i'm going to see "Mary Poppins" in NYC. It just so happened to have both things fall on the same day, so my dad and his fiancee are going to babysit. I asked them to babysit this day back in August - once we found out he got tickets for this game and X-mas eve. This will be the first time my father has babysat for me in over a year, and he's already saying how he's going to have to leave on Sunday to go out to the store "for a break" from the kids. At least my Dad's fiancee is good with the kids. *Sigh*

Tamie - Sorry to hear Tyler is sick - poor little guy. I can't believe you're going to be in WDW in just a few days - you're so lucky! I can't wait to hear all about the Beach Club since we'll be staying in BCV next spring! Glad you had a little "me" time yesterday.

Dizagain - have fun at the Rec night - LOL at the raging 8th grade hormones!

Diskim - Congrats on your honor from your NHS student!!! :thumbsup2

Bellacam - So sorry to hear about Aiden. :grouphug: Sounds like Loretta had some great advice and i'll keep Aiden in my thoughts! :sunny:

Molly slept in until 9 am today.....!!!!!!?????!!!! HOLY MOLY! My alarm went off today at 5:45 and I kid you not, Liam woke up a second later in his room and stayed up. I left for work at 6:45 and he had already been up an hour. At least my oldest was still asleep, and DH was home today. Oh, and I don't let the cat in any of our rooms at night - she stays in the downstairs "mud room" with food, litter box and lots of blankets to sleep on. She's overly friendly and would be sleeping on my neck all night with her butt in my face - no thanks!

Jill - Glad JP's appointment went well. I remember having to go to the neurologist when Kevin was 8 months old because his head was really large also. Everything was fine, but it's nice to know that they are there and well trained to help out us nervous mom's! 5 MORE WEEKS!!!!!!

SL - Can't wait to see a pic of Lucas' haircut.

Ginamarie - Good luck finding a nice artificial christmas tree. I think you should be able to find a decent one for under $125. We have a nice one here in our office that was a Martha Stewart one and I think we got it at Kmart a few years ago for about that price. It was pre-lit. Hope you have a relaxing day today after your hectic day yesterday!

Val - Congratulations on your raise! Time to plan another WDW trip I guess!!!!!! ;) princess: :wizard:

GLT - UGh - you poor thing up all night! I hope Leif is feeling better today. Can't wait to see the pic of the kids when you get it up on the net.

Lissawynn - How are your home improvements coming along???

Joats - LOL at "Disco Jace"!!! What an adorable costume, and the fact that he didn't take off the hair is incredible!

Loretta - Does your MIL know that you're looking to sell your house? Did you see her or FIL on Halloween?

BNB - Sorry to hear about the canker sore - OUCH!!!! Hope it's better soon. Those meals you made sounds YUMMY!

Hi to all the mom's - Gems, Fabumouse, Justine (in WDW), DisneyPhD, Cabmom, Floridafam, Ryan840, Gretchen, and everyone!!!!

Alice- I don’t know what your DH is thinking. When we stayed at the Poly we walked to the TTC. It’s about a 5 minute walk because you’d never know it while you’re inside the resort, but the Poly is practically IN the TTC parking area.
What a deal on the crocs!! I wanted to get DH a pair for WDW/Christmas, but I never see them on sale in our area.

DisKim- HS Musical is coming by us on December 29th. I heard that some of the tickets go on sale TOMORROW (11-4), but it looks like on Long Island they’re not going on sale until 11-11. Although there’s a “presale” for people on the Nassau Coliseum mailing list, which I’m on, for 11-10. It’s really weird though because they’re not even listed on ticketmaster yet. I’m going to double check tomorrow morning and I might stop by the coliseum box office on Friday if nothing shows up on ticketmaster.
I can’t believe your DH’s job offer was so low. I know how discouraged you feel. My DH interviews for new positions all the time, and they haven’t panned out at all in the last couple of years. He interviewed again on Monday (with Good Morning America), but was told they have another dozen people to interview for the position before a decision can be made.

Dizagain- Have fun at the rec night.

Hillbeans- we had a day once where the ladies went to Broadway and the guys went to see a Jets game. It was great fun and then we all met up for dinner at an Italian restaurant. I hope you have a great time!

I wound up ordering the Christmas stockings from Joann Fabrics online. I can’t wait until they get here! I had a mellow day with Olivia. I’m spoiling her (and me) with snuggles and kisses. I also have a couple of steaks marinading for dinner. Aaaaahhhh, I needed a day like this!

Fun pics Holly! Thanks for sharing! Sounds like you had a good day with hubby; my light fixtures are still in the box in the basement.

Kim- I meant to say earlier, what a freaking joke about them offering your DH 30K less than his current salary. Yeah, right. That had to be frustrating. :furious:

Hillary- yes, I am lucky that most days Josh and Molly sleep in until at least 8. And they go to bed at 9 or so, so not super late. Have fun at Mary Poppins! Sorry your dad already assumes he will 'need a break' while babysitting.

GM- I'm not sure where to get a good, reasonably priced fake tree. we still do real trees in our house. (we are in OR afterall) I know Costco has very nice quality ones, but I don't think they are inexpensive.

Oops- gotta go.........

Evening all :)

robin - Are those the Mickey outdoor lights you ordered eons ago? Crack the whip girl ;) What a deal you got! I'm so jealous! If I had the time to spare I would be begging you to pick up a kids pair for Tyler. I'm making it my mission to hit a couple of Hallmarks this weekend, just because of your good deal. I did get an email for free wrapping paper, so that's worth a trip.

ff - Great pictures! Kona is getting so big!

kim - $30k less? That's insane!!! What a waste of time! Did they really think he would jump at that?

hillary - Enjoy Mary Poppins, that sounds like fun! LOL about your Dad's break, way to have a positive attitude ;)

nucpharm - I hope the party goes well! Happy Birthday to Matthew :cake: I can't wait to see pictures. The cake ones are the greatest.

gina - Be sure to show us your stockings when you're done.

diz - Have fun with the rec night!

Tyler and I visited some friends tonight. Their poor dog had some stitches and has the lovely cone thing on her head. She kept knocking Tyler over with that darn thing. By the end of the night he was flinching if the dog got within 4 feet of him!

Time for bed - anyone ever find themselves lapsing into their children's books when they say things? I wanted to say "time for bed little mouse little mouse, darkness is falling all over the house" Yes, I've lost it!

/
Good morning all. I came home to a house with a 3'x12' gaping hole in our roof. They are putting the "floor" for the addition up and b/c of the placement of a beam, they "couldn't" cover the hole. Wouldn't is more like it. DH had to work until about 11 last night, so I was going to be here alone. I called DH crying and yelling, and then I called the contractor to find out why in the world they'd walk away from my house like that. They are coming this morning, so I hope the "floor" will be done before they leave today.
I'd love to ask the contractor if he'd leave his pregnant daughter's house that way for a night. Wait, I already know the answer to that one.

Jimmy had his first sleep-over at his Pop-Pop's house last night. There is no way I was going to keep him here with the house like it was.

Alice - What a great deal you got at the Hallmark store! Our nearest store doesn't carry Crocs, but since I love mine so much, I paid full price for them any way. I hope you are successful hiding them.
Btw, I have also been told that I have Fred Flintstone feet. They're wide and my toes are so ugly and look like they've been smashed.

DisKim - I think that job offer is a total insult to your DH. I hope something better comes along for him.

nucpharm - Good luck with the party!

Jill - I hope those 5 weeks go quickly for you!

floridafam - Great pics!

Ginamarie - Glad you and Olivia got to have such a nice day together!

Hillbeans - Have a great weekend in NYC! My DH would love to see a Steelers game in Pitt.

DH took pics of the house yesterday, but I can't find the cable for the camera. I have an extra at school, so I may get it so I can post the pics of our house in progress.

Morning! Yawn... I had to wake the girls at 7 as one of Hayley's friends has to leave at 7:30. Carson was pretty good last night, but I missed having the downstairs to use at the middle-of-the-night feeding. Then when he woke up to be held and sleep at 4, I had to put him in bed with me and HANNAH (who somehow ended up there instead of DH - he was in HER bed :confused3 ). Anyway, I have cinnamon rolls (don't get fancy ideas- they're from a can, of course) in the oven and they smell yummy!

The Rec Night was interesting - aaahh, memories. Lissawynn and Diskim - how do you do it every day??? I was put in the gym with the dj and the "mob" Hayley warned me about. She said the kids in the middle were KISSING - how gross, she says! They danced alot but it was so funny - the dj played "Thriller" and the entire gym cleared out. Guess they don't like Michael Jackson!

lissawynn - OH NO! I can't believe they left your house like that! I'm glad you could take Jimmy over to his Pop-Pop's house - I'll bet he had fun.

tykes - I am CONSTANTLY speaking out of books!!! My kids laugh at me all the time! So if you've lost it, I'm right there with you!

floridafam - cute pictures!!! Glad you had fun with DH!

ginamarie - Glad you had a nice day with Olivia! I just love those baby snuggles!!!

hillbeans - I'm so jealous - I just absolutely love going to shows. Hope "Mary Poppins" is wonderful - let me know as we'd like to catch it on tour later.

robin - I am way jealous of you too because of those prices on Crocs. My Hallmark NEVER has them on sale but I'm always hearing other people find them. I need some new ones and the girls want a second pair.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MATTHEW!!! :simba: :stitch:  :yay:

Nucpharm - hope the party is a big success. I want to see pictures of the fun with the cake of course!

Well, I need to move the little girl along - it's 7:30 and she's still eating in her jammies. I think her mom is taking her to the doctor so she probably needs to be dressed!

Happy Saturday!

GM - Thanks for the info. I'm having trouble getting info about when they go on sale for Continetal Airlines Arena. I think it is supposed to be today but it is not showing up yet on ticketmaster. I'm hoping that something happens at 11am. If I miss out on these tickets I will be devastated. I'm already upset with myself that I didn't know the Cheetah Girls were going to be in Atlantic City and now they are sold out.

Holly - What adorable kids you have!

Diz - I'm dreading the day Emmy starts going to dances because I know too much.

lissawynn - Why is it that contractors always seem to do stuff like that. That is just horrible. I hope this is the only glitch in the construction and that everything else goes smoothly and gets done quickly!

nucpharm - Happy birthday to Matthew!! I hope he has a great party!!

Tamie - I tend to quote Good Night Moon. BTW, I also said "oopsie" the other day when one of my high school students dropped her pen  .

I need to seriously stay away from the budget board here because it has the opposite effect on me. I ended up buying a mixer from overstock since I've always wanted one. I just can't pass up these great deals that people post.

Well, I've got to get Alex ready for soccer. Aidan still has croup so I'm keeping him home.

:bday:Happy Birthday Matthew!! :cake: Have fun at your party!! party:

I'm waiting for DH to get home from the vet so I can take off to go do lunch with a friend. Jace is napping :)

Thanks for the comments about Disco Jace. Truth be told, when I tried the costume on him last week..he did fine with the outfit but feared the wig. He even said his first sentence "Mommy, no!" when I tried to put it on him. Halloween night he started saying No as soon as he saw it. All I did was say do you want to go outside? When he said yes, I said "well then you have to wear your hat (the wig)" and he let me put it right on him and never even made note of it again. Kept it on all night. We'll see how he does tomorrow for the family Halloween party.

DisKim: I've never been to the budget board, but I imagine if I did, I'd spend more too. I'm glad you enjoyed the recognition event the other night. Poor Aidan still has the nasty croup? Hope feels better soon.

Dizagain: :rotfl: about the lack of love for MJ's Thriller...I on the other hand would have had to boogie on the dancefloor. Enjoy the cinnamon rolls - MmmMmm sounds so good!

Lissawyn: How awful!!! I hope they resolve the issues today and that Jimmy had a fun first sleep over.

Tamie: Poor Tyler...I can totally picture him flintching away from the dog. Any kids song or book is fair game. I do the exact same thing.

FF: Love the photos especially "the spicy Meatball one" :rotfl:

Hello to everyone else...I know I'm missing a lot of you but DH just got back, gotta get my shoes on and hit the road.
Have a great day!
:)

Happy Birthday Matthew!

The contractors have been working since 7:30. There was just a huge truck in our backyard that lifted all the roofing stuff onto the roof. It was actually pretty neat.
The gaping hole in the back of the house has been kind of covered up. The support beam has to be put back there, so after that's done, I guess it'll be airtight and covered.

I am forcing DH to take me to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. Then we have to go to Target and Sam's for some stuff. I don't know if he's gonna like it, but we're going.

I'm getting frustrated witht these concert tickets. I read that they are not releasing them today now. They will probably do it during the week when I'm at work.

I forgot to mention this but when I took Aidan to the doctor last night, I voiced some concerns. Aidan does not follow directions like my other kids did and he is hardly talking at all. Even the words he did know, he's not using anymore. The doctor agreed that it wouldn't hurt to take him to a neurologist and hearing specialist. He gave me numbers for both. I know I'm being paranoid but I'd rather find out if something is wrong early so I can do something about it. His behavior is just so off the wall that he is either just really challenging or something is wrong. He just flies off the handle so badly that it doesn't seem right to me.

Well, I guess I better get off this computer and clean a little. I think we are going to take Emmy and Alex to see The Santa Clause 3. We just love those movies. The first one is one of my favorite movies. Then, we'll probably stop by Kohl's since I have Kohl's cash buring a hole in my pocket.

If I could find a way to organize it, I would totally go Croc shopping for everyone. But I would be afraid they wouldn't have the right colors in the right sizes for everyone. But they did have a TON...I have huge feet, so there wasn't as much selection for me, but I think they had just about every bright color for the women (in the beach style), every dark color for men (mostly in the closed, no hole style)(and some in women's sizes) and several colors of the flip flops for both genders. And then several BRIGHTS in the beach style for kids. Seriously, if you want to take a chance and tell me your shoe size and color you want, I could probably get back down there today or tomorrow. If I am successful you can paypal or mail me money for the crocs and shipping- it would still be a $10 savings I would guess (I can't imagine shipping would be more than $5 for these light things).

Anyway, I hope some other Hallmarks near you have them on sale- this store is unique in that yes, it's a Hallmark (about 1/3 of it), but it's also a drug store, and yet it also carries LOTS AND LOTS of home and holiday trinkets, doo-dads, linens, Vera Bradley, Crabtree and Evelyn, Dept 56, etc. I am not sure I have ever been in a store quite like it. It's amazing and my mom and I always go a little nuts a few times a year because they have really good deals on all sorts of stuff!

Kim- I hope that nothing is truly wrong with Aidan and that perhaps he's just a willful child. :grouphug: I hope you are able to get those tickets!

lissawynn- that is AWFUL about your house! How did you sleep- wasn't it cold?

OK, I gotta cut this short as I need to get Molly dressed and we all have to go to Sam's soccer game in 20 minutes.

Just a quick one because I have an armload o' Luke...

Kim-- :grouphug: to you on Aidan! I may have mentioned that Robert, as a toddler, had many developmental and medical issues. We were told he was retarded, autistic, epileptic, and deaf. The good news is, he's fine now, but I cried more tears for that little boy! It was a real dark time for us. Definitely get him evaluated--if there's an underlying condition, the earlier you start treatment, the better. I can't say enough good things about Early Intervention. As for Robert, he just has to "grow into his brain"--he'll never be "average" on anything. Feel free to pm me if you need to talk--I have been there.

bnbmom - Thanks. I will definitely pm you when I need to talk. I'm hoping I'm just paranoid. I'd rather be safe than sorry. I'm just hoping he is willful like Robin said. I know he's not autistic. He is very affectionate and he does not have any of the behaviors associated with it.

The contractors are still working, which is a good thing. My dad dropped Jimmy off around 11:30 and he's been sleeping for about 2 hours. DH got pizza for the workers, and then he got called into work. So much for our night out. I have no idea when he's coming home, but we need the extra $$$ right now, so why not work.

DisKim - Better to be safe than sorry with Aidan. I truly hope he's fine. I hope you can manage to get those tickets. I'm sure Emmy would love to see the show.

Robin - I would love another pair of Crocs, but with the way my house is turned upside down, I probably wouldn't be able to find them in the summer. I love the flip-flops that I bought and will be getting another pair for next summer. I love that they don't absorb odors and you can just hose them off when they're icky.

I've managed to get a few loads of laundry done, but I'm having a hard time going down to the basement to get the stuff out of the dryer and put on hangers.

Happy Birthday Matthew!!!

Alice- my porch lights are still in their boxes too! FIL is supposed to come over next Saturday with some tools, but if it doesn’t go up then, I’m storing them away until the spring.

Lissawynn- Sorry about your holy roof!

Diskim- I don’t see any info about when they’re supposed to go on sale for the CAA. Very strange! Sorry that Aidan’s behavior is worrying you. I’d want to get him checked out too.

No time to post anymore- laundry is calling me!

Mommies,

I have a coupon for $20 off a $100 Janie and Jack purchase plus free shipping if you want it. Just PM me.
