Mommies,

I have a coupon for $20 off a $100 Janie and Jack purchase plus free shipping if you want it. Just PM me.

How did you get that? I'm trying to decide if I want it or not.......their stuff is to DIE FOR.

Robin,

I got it in the mail the other day. I'm not sure why I got it. We don't have a store anywhere near here. I have visited their website.

I PM'd you.

:wizard:  Happy Birthday Matthew!!!!!! :goodvibes

Well, DH got on the road about 6 pm. He'll get to his mom's house around 9:45 or so and then him and his brother will drive the remaining 3 hours to Pittsburgh tomorrow morning. At around 4 pm I was coming in from the grocery store and DH had this look of panic - he couldn't find the tickets. I had thought he made a folder in his filing cabinet but they weren't in there. He had torn up the house and I found them in a pile of old mail in our computer room - Glad to see he took good care of these tickets! ;) (and waited until the last minute to look).

I am excited about Mary Poppins tomorrow. I have to say i'm really lucky that I live only an hour's train ride from NYC because it's nice to go in to the city for events and shows. This will probably be my last show/concert/event for awhile because we're kind of saving our cash for Christmas and WDW in April. I bought these tickets back in June.

Lissawynn - Glad to hear they're making progress on your house.

Diskim - good luck getting those tickets - it seems they are "THE" item at the moment. I hope everything works out with Aidan and the doctor - I agree with BNB - try not to worry too much until you have the tests done and all - it could be just as she said that he's "growing into his brain". Oh, and I also say whoopsie - and i'm sure I say it at work but no one has called me out on it yet....

Alice - How was Sam's soccer game? Here it was cold for soccer, but Kevin had fun. We only have 2 more weeks left.

Ginamarie - Have fun doing your laundry!! :teeth:

Joats - Hope "Disco Jace" wears his costume to the family party tomorrow!

Gotta run ladies, have a great night!

I bought Tyler some cough medicine today. His cough was just getting horrible. He did pretty well at the mall today for being sick though. I'm crossing my fingers that he sleeps in for me.

I didn't find any crocs today. The hallmark that I went to doesn't carry them. I did get some free wrapping paper though.

lissawynn - Why on earth wouldn't you want a big gaping hole in your ceiling? ;) Isn't it nice to let the fresh air in? I'm glad they finally covered it up for you. I bet Jimmy had a great time with his Pop Pop. Sorry your hubby had to go into work.

hillary - Be sure to let us know how the show is. LOL at your husband. I get blamed because I sort the mail and stuff gets moved.

ff - I hope someone can use your coupon. They do have adorable stuff!

diskim - Kudos to you for getting him evaluated. I'm sure it will be nothing, but you are 1 step ahead of the game if it is something!

Time to go unload some bags and veg on the couch!

Hillbeans- OMG, that is so something DH or I would do with the tickets! I panicked the other day because I couldn't find a gift cert I JUST BOUGHT THE SAME DAY! I did find it though. For WDW I bought a folder and have a big envelope in it for all the gift cards, Disney Dollars, etc that we earn between now and then and I make sure it's in the SAME PLACE every time I go to look at it. Don't need to be losing hundreds of dollars of gift cards!

Sam's game was good. He finally got to be goalie so he was excited for that. He blocked two and let one get by. Oh well! They don't even keep score at these games- it's all in fun. Their games are at an indoor arena, so the weather isn't a factor. :thumbsup2

The rest of the day we have been vegging. Oh, well I stopped by Fred Meyer again today, to grab a big lidded bin for the 50# bag of rice I bought at Costco the other day. Sidenote: I always buy the 5# bag of Japanese sticky rice at the store for $5. I saw at Costco the same rice was $14.79 for a 50# bag! Talk about savings! Geez! So I just had to come up with a storage solution (we definitely eat more rice than any other starch in our family- we likee rice!). ANYWAY, I bought a bag of Kettle Chips to munch on with lunch, and oh man, my stomach was KILLING me for several hours this afternoon. Why I bought them, I do not know as I KNOW I cannot handle certain greasy foods since I had my gall bladder out 4 years ago. I felt like an idiot. And those kind of chips are what set off that gall bladder attack in the first place! Dumb, dumb, dumb. I did manage to exercise and got 4 pages done in my scrapbook. I left my stuff out so I can power scrap after Molly goes to bed.

DH is over on the coast for his Nat'l Guard drill. Hopefully they aren't outside- it's just been raining all darn day.

GM- laundry has been humming here all day too- why does it NEVER end! As soon as I'm caught up, there is a pile again, or someone needs their sheets washed or something! Ugh!

Tamie- bummer your Hallmark didn't have the Crocs. I'm sorry Tyler is feeling so crummy. Hopefully with a nice dose of medicine, he will sleep well tonight. And I know I need to crack the whip on those light fixtures....esp with the time change, it is DARK outside at night- we just have one lonely streetlight on our plateau of the street, so it's very dark out there...

lissawynn- so what got accomplished on your house today? All your remodeling totally has me excited for our stuff we want to do in a few months.

I combed through all the meals we have planned out, trying to figure what we will spend on food. (at WDW) I think our last 10 day trip we spent about $1000-1100 on food!!!!! Yipes. And that was not eating breakfast outside the room. But man, feeding a family of 4 (now 5) gets spendy at Disney. It seems all our counter service meals at DL were always about $33. And a sitdown is easily $60-70 with tax and tip. Makes me miss Costco's food court prices! :lmao: Oh well, eating is one of the most fun parts about vacation for me and DH- no cooking, getting to try new things, everyone getting to pick what they want for lunch or dinner- what could be better?

Diz- too funny about all the kids clearing the floor to Thriller. Yikes, I think I was in 5th or 6th grade when that song came out. Feeling old here! I still think it's a fun song to dance to! Was it Drew and Cheryl on Dancing with the Stars who rocked the house with that song last year? I think it was and I was just in awe with the chills at their dancing to that song!

OK, well, I need to put away the dishes and pick up the living room. Have a nice night, all!

Hi Ladies!

Robin - I only have one pair of crocs, I think they are the beach ones, they are bright pink! DH thinks I am mad wearing them but I think they are fun, and anyway they accomodate pregnant feet so well! :teeth:

Lissawynn - Glad that your remodel is going well. Please post some pics when you get a chance. IT's nice of your dad to take Jimmy while they are working on the house.

Kim - 30K!! Wow thats a lot of money - I can't believe they thought that you would go for that!

Tamie - I am sorry that Tyler is sick. There is another cold going around everyone here at the moment so we are hoping that we don't get it in our house.

Well we are having a lazy day today, the brakes on DH's car have gone on the rear so he has taken my car to work today so we can't really go out anywhere unless we walk, and it's a bit chilly for that! Anyway Shelby's being a pill at the moment, she wants to cuddle then as soon as I pick her up she wants to go back down again! Kids huh!

Happy Birthday Matthew - have a great day! :cheer2:

We did a Wedding Consultation for balloons yesterday and I got an order for £550 which I guess is about $900!! I was so pleased! I must admit that it was quite easy tooas the bride and groom kind of knew what they wanted - which was a lot!! Always good though! Just out of interest how much do balloons cost in the US - retail ?

hi to all the other mommies that I missed - I just don't seem to be getting the time lately to post! :wave2:

I had such a great night last night! We dropped off Aidan at my mom's and took Emmy and Alex out to dinner and a movie. Santa Clause 3 was just adorable! It totally put us in the mood for Christmas. Then, we went to Lowe's to pick up a few things and we just couldn't help but run up and down the Christmas aisles. We ended up picking up a new angel for the top of our tree. She is fiber optic so it should look so pretty. I tried not to buy much else since we are strapped until DH gets paid for all his extra work.

Robin - The meals are my favorite part of Disney too!

Tamie - I hope Tyler feels better soon!

Hillbeans - Is Mary Poppins on Broadway? I hadn't heard that. Let me know how it is. I take the kids in for a show each year but I've been dragging my feet about getting tickets to anything this year because they are so expensive. I was thinking of just taking a day off work to go see the tree and take the kids skating. I probably won't bring Aidan. We haven't done the city in 2 years because of a bad pregnancy and then, of course, Aidan being young. I was thinking about Radio City since Alex has never seen it. I might just go to the box office half an hour before it starts and get cheap tickets. Anyway, have fun! I love the city!!

We are just vegging out today. Emmy's throat is hurting. I let her skip skating lessons yesterday. She wants to quit after this session which is fine with me since she also has basketball and 50 other things. I think she has found her niche with horseback riding. Of course, my kid has to pick the most expensive thing.

I'm thinking about filling out an application to do online tutoring to make some extra cash for home improvements. I know I'm nuts with everything else I have going on but I could use the extra money. I want hardwood floors!

One more thing - DH is thinking of starting a side business. The start up would be about 15K without advertising factored in so it's not too bad.

Gems - I have no idea how much balloons run for here. That is awesome that you got such a big order.

Morning. I'm going to shower and get started on the remaining wash before the contractors get here. I'm sure our neighbors will love the hammering and banging so early on a Sunday morning. They're just gonna have to suck it up!

We have 3 outside walls up and the fourth will go up this morning. Then it's roof time!

My sister and I are going to BJ's and the mall. I have a mile-long list of stuff I needed at Sam's, but she has a BJ's card and I need help carrying the stuff. Also, BJ's is closer to the mall than Sam's. I also have to go to Target and take back the cable I bought for my iPod. I found the original one.

Happy Birthday Matthew! party: :bday:

We went to the mall yesterday and I got Lucas' Thanksgiving outfit all set. I want to buy him new shoes b/c all he has that fit now are sneakers. I think he could use a pair of loafers or something. We also stopped by my aunt's house (she's also my godmother) and had a nice visit there. When I went there on Halloween I didn't have my WDW pictures and she really wanted to see them so I brought over my half-finished scrapbook album.

Nothing on for today. My FIL is supposed to come over to help DH dismantle our patio swing and move it into the basement for the winter. We'll also probably do our grocery shopping tonight.

This is Lukey's new haircut. I don't think the flash went off and I hope you can see it.

Hillbeans - have a good time at Mary Poppins. DH wants to see it so I said I'd go if it played at one of our local theatres.

DisKim - :grouphug: Better safe than sorry getting Aidan checked out.

Alice28 - Good deal on the Crocs.

Gem - Congrats on the balloon order!

lissawynn - Sounds like they're moving right along on your house.

:wave2: to everyone else! Have a great Sunday!

Once again, another drive by post from me.....Thanks for all the birthday wishes for Matthew. His party was a huge success. I'll definitely be posting some pics later on today. He is the only one of the kids that just dove into his cake--he actually had to have a bath before opening presents because he was so messy! Well, we have to run DMIL to the airport this am and then off to church. Will check in later!

Nucpharm: How wonderful Matthew loved the cake and that the party was a success. I can't wait to see the pictures!

SL: Lucas looks adorable with his new haircut. I need to get Jace one soon, He's starting to look like a hillbilly in the back. :rotfl:

Lissawyn: Happy Shopping! I hope there is a lot of progress on the house when you return.

DisKim: What kind of side business is DH thinking about starting? Glad to hear you had a great night last night.

Gems: :woohoo: Congrats on the balloon order. I'm not sure how much for the latex cost but mylar can be costly - $3-5 each I think. I've never bought a huge bunch before. I'm sure there are websites online you can search for pricing.

Robin: Good for you exercising off those Kettle Chips and getting some scrapping done.

Tamie: Poor Tyler. I hope he is feeling better soon.

Hillbeans: Hope you have fun at Mary Poppins today...Let us know how it goes. It's a nice day for NYC (but a bit chilly).

Hello to all the other mom's I'm missing this morning.

My lunch yesterday with my friend was great. It was the first time in SO LONG I had lunch out kidfree. It was fun! We went to Bennigan's at the Mall and did some shopping. I started my shopping for my exchange buddy!!!! :)
I bought Jace a few things, but mostly needed gifts for people. I've had so many friends who have had babies recently. Last night I baked 2 cakes for my Kitty Litter cake for my family Halloween party and this morning DH and I put it together. It looks so gross!!! DH and I had a fun time putting it together. Isn't it disgusting???

Well, I gotta go hit the shower to get ready for the big Halloween Shindig at my folks. Have a great Sunday....
:)

I only have a second, but joats--I HAVE to have the recipe for that!!! I come from a huge family of cat lovers--my sister has 19 (NOT A TYPO!). I would also love to sign up for bringing dessert for Thanksgiving and show up with that--watch my MIL pass out! Tee-hee-hee!

nucpharm - I'm glad Matthew had a great birthday party!

joats - That cake looks so gross! It's great for a Halloween party! DH is looking into starting a video production business. It would probably lead him into doing wedding videos, but he wanted to try to avoid that due to the fact that it would take him out of the house on the weekends.

Hello All! I am fairly new to the DIS and just found this thread...yay!!! I am a new Mom as of March 24, 2006. I gave birth to a wonderful baby girl named Eliza! I'm happy to see there is a new Mom's thread and hope I can join in!
Thanks,
Betsy

Here is a pic of my little Piglet for Halloween :) ps..please excuse the red eye in the pic! I didn't have time to edit the photo.

joats - that cake looks disgusting!! OMG! I actually thought "why is she posting a picture of her cat's litter box?" What is the litter part?

diskim - The side job sounds like fun for your DH. Have you made him promise no more late night side jobs helping people with their computers? He sounds so busy!

betsy - Welcome  Eliza is adorable!!

sl - Cute haircut!! He's looking so grown up.

nucpharm - Glad the party went well. I can't wait to see the cake pics.

gem - I think latex balloons run .75 - $1.25 inflated, at least around here. Congrats on the order!!

alice - good thinking on the bin for the rice!

I'm going to get a haircut today and Tyler's going to hang out with Grandma for awhile. I think I'll sneak in a trip to Old Navy and Archiver's before my haircut. I still don't know what I'm wearing for pictures tomorrow!!

Happy Sunday!

Tamie

Joats- :rotfl: :rotfl: on the cake! I think my friend emailed me the recipe for that once...Tamie, as I recall the poop is slightly warmed up tootsie rolls, kind of pulled to look like kitty poop. :crazy2: Between Jace's costume, and that cake, you are going to be the hit of the party Joats! Very creative.

SL- Lucas looks SO big boy! Wow! I think he looks terrific.

Welcome Betsy! Eliza is darling!

Kim- I think that side job for your DH would be great- then he will say no to all the other extras at work, right? I'm sorry Emmy has a sore throat- that's no fun. :guilty: What fun that you guys had a night out last night with the older kids- your angel sounds pretty.

Hillbeans- hope you have fun in NYC today. You ARE lucky that you live to close to just about everything and anything you could ever want!

lissawynn- wow, they have 3 walls up already? That's great!

Gems- I can't remember how much we paid for our balloons at my wedding, but I know it wasn't $900! I want to say a latex balloon filled with helium is about .50 each. Mylar ones are spendy- $2.50-8.00 depending on the size of the balloon.

DH just called- they were out in that crummy weather til 4 this morning. I think I am going to quickly vacuum and put the dishwasher dishes away, and then we are going to head down to the outlets. My underpant situation is dismal, so first stop is Jockey. Then Gymbo- but I only plan on buying Sam some pants if they are marked down. Let's see if I can stick to my plan. This stupid pink eye traveled to the other eye- I am ready to scream. I am doing everything I am supposed to- washing my hands every time I touch my eye, or even walk by a sink; washing my pillowcases daily (or switching them anyway), doing the drops, sanitizing my dropper. If I get it AGAIN after this round, I am going to the doctor to get the ointment vs. the drops, or oral antibiotics. Ugh. At least my kids haven't gotten it again- I am definitely not touching their face or hands as much as I can help it, so they don't get it.

OK, well have a pleasant Sunday everyone!

Joats--OMG that cake is hilarious!!!! :rotfl2:

Gems--congrats on getting the balloon order! :thumbsup2

betsy--Welcome!!! My DD had that same costume for Halloween last year--I loved it!

alice--Ick on the pink eye--hopefully it will clear up soon! Good luck with the shopping excursion!

Okay, so I'm going to bore ya'll with my pics! There were so many good ones, IMHO, so just bear with me!

OH, this might be good!!!

PB050027_edited.jpg

Yep, mom, like the cake!!

Nucpharm~ love the pictures! You and your DH look so great! My favorite is the one of Emma kind of looking funny at her brother with his cake- like she is judging whether or not he's doing a good job. :rotfl: So cute!

I did well at the outlets. I spent 0.00 in Gymboree. It was a pretty nice store though, certainly better than the one I went to in CA. I was all set to buy Sam some pants, but lo and behold they only go up to size 7 at the outlets. Their loss! They had nice long sleeved shirts for boys for 2 for $20 and I was having de ja vu at a lot of the clothes. They basically just repeated all of last year's lines....most of it is EXACTLY the same, but the colors are off or a little different. I did a little, "Oooh" out loud when I saw one of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE outfits EVER I had bought for Molly for last fall hanging on a rack. I wanted to but it again, but it only went up to 18-24 and she could barely squeeze in that right now.

Anyway, then we went to Gap and I got two pairs of pants for Sam for $9 a pop and a sweet kind of fancy sundress for Molly for $12. I love it and envision her at some sort of nicer meal at WDW in it. I don't know what as so far the fanciest restaurants we are bringing the kids to is Whispering Canyon and Hoop Dee Doo! :rotfl2: I want to book a princess meal in Norway or the castle just for her to be 'princessy.' :goodvibes I must say again, it's so much fun having a girl! I'm sure you moms of 2 girls then a boy (Jill, Diz) can say that about having a boy now. When I wrapped all her Christmas gifts the other day I had a small giggle- 1 Disney princess dress up box, 2 Disney princess Polly Pocket things, 1 baby doll stroller, 1 Ariel purse and some hair doodads for her stocking. SO DIFFERENT than cars, Legos, STAR WARS, Buzz Lightyear that I have done ad nauseum the last 6-7 years.

And Tamie agreed to look for another one of those plush baby-looking Princess bean bag dolls at WDW for me, to put in Molly's stocking. I'm so grateful we have each other to do Disney favors for us, as one of us always seems to be going! I looked on ebay and laughing place store, and they are marked up 50-100%! I'm pretty sure they were $12 in the parks and laughingplace.com wants $24 for one! Yeah, right. ANYWAY, THANK YOU TAMIE for offering to look and hopefully grab one for me. :thumbsup2

Josh was a total pill in Gap so he had to apologize and be perfect in Jockey in order to receive a treat before we headed home. And he did- I was proud of him for listening. And I got some good deals on underpants- always nice.

Hello everyone! I only have a minute but I wanted to say Happy Birthday Matthew! party: Those pictures are great! Also :welcome: Betsy and Eliza.

Aidan has come down with a stomach bug and I can not count the number of diapers we have gone thru. Thank God DH is home tomorrow. It's actually our 7th wedding anniversary. Even though I feel like doing nothing, he took the day off to spend together. What a sweetie. I told him all I wanted for our anniversary was a long nap and I am pretty sure I'll get one. Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!
