The Official LOST Season Five *No Spoilers* Thread

Was the original Frank Lapidus and last nights Frank Lapidus the same actor. I new the name but I thought they looked very different.

I think that Aaron was sent to Sun's mother in Korea. Didn't she tell her daughter on the phone she was going to meet a new freind Aaron last week. Also he would be far away and safe.

Claire may have come to Kate like I think Charlie went to Hurley to convince them to go back to the island.

Ooohhh! I'll bet you are right! Good catch!

Interesting...the visions Kate had (in dreams) from Claire were her telling her to NOT bring Aaron back...do you think she convinced Kate to go though?

I rewatched the show tonight and have a couple of observations that might mean something or as is the case quite often with Lost mean nothing.

I commented a while back on the possibility that someone mentioned that Charlotte might be Annie, Bens childhood friend. I said I didn't think so because of age and other factors, but my main arguement was that Charlotte had those piercing blue eyes. Well in rewatching the show tonight guess who else has the blue eyes? Eloise Hawkins! You only see them when she is talking with Jack alone about putting something of his Father's with Locke. The rest of the time the look almost brown. With all the unknown relationships could Charlotte actually be Daniels half brother? I mean could Hawkon be both Faraday's mother and Charlotte's mother?

The other thing I noticed was that all along everyone has said they all needed to go back to the island but at the end of last weeks show and again at the start of this show Hawking says I told you to get all of them and Ben says its the best I could do on short notice. Hawkin says well it will have to do, lets get started. From that and her explaination of how the Lamp Post station predicts where and when the island is going to be I get the impression that having all six was never required but rather preferred because it increased the odds of randomly flying through the right area and getting at least one person back to the island. I think that person is Locke. Based on previews we know hes back up and walking around next week because they show him talking to the lady who was escorting Sayid. I think he is the key and the rest had to be there to make sure he got back. He turned the wheel last week to stop the skipping but his only way back was through the O6.

Based on the times Claire told not to take him back and the way she said it, specifically always saying him, instead of Aaron, I think that the him they are talking about is not Aaron but rather Locke.

I'm in! I was spoiler free last year and enjoyed the episodes so much more than when I knew what was going to happen.

Thanks for refreshing my memory about Ben and Penny. Looks like Des got the best of Ben ... although as we know looks can be deceiving :scared1: hope Des is alright!

Maybe Penny's the one that beat up Ben. I bet she can kick some butt! :thumbsup2

Yes, that was definitely the same actor--just all polished up with no facial hair. It's amazing how some men can look sooo different without the facial hair.

I mentioned Aaron going to Sun's mom to DH and he said no way--we'll see, but I don't see why they through in the phone call from Sun to her kid. I feel like they want us to forget she had a kid so we're not so mad at her...I hope she dies now....lol okay, maybe not that much...:thumbsup2

The big difference between Claire and Charlie is that Claire isn't dead. She just seemed to be nuts and hanging out with her dad. So I don't think she can appear like Charlie can--but she does seem to visit dreams--probably the connection to Christian. I know there are theories out there that she is actually dead, but as far as we know she's still alive.

Claire is one of the unanswered questions. Did she die and that's why she's hanging out with her dad now? No one knows for sure. :confused3

Hey, one more thing.

Ben was reading Ulysses which was based on The Odyssey with Odysseus, a sailor who is kept from his true love, Penelope---see where I'm going with that??! Especially as Ben was the one reading it!

Yeah, people speculate that she had to be dead to leave Aaron. All we know is that she survived the bomb to her house and then disappeared to later show up with dear old dead dad. So who knows? I guess we will if she does appear to Kate like Charlie can appear to Hugo. That would be nice to clear up.

I knew the title of that book would mean something, just did not have the time to research it. thanks:)

No prob. I was an English major and had to read both of the works, so I got it right away for once. I usually don't get the importance of the literature dropping they do.

And Hugo was reading a comic book that I did look up, but still don't really get the significance of except that one of the writers wrote it. But I think it was thrown in, cuz Hugo was reading a comic (the one with the polar bear--I saw it in disney world!) before the first flight.

Someone please help me with this. Wasn't The Odyssey the book that had a self-fulfilling profesy? Something about him being told that he would kill his mother. So he left home so that he wouldn't kill his mother. Then after a period of time he kills her not knowing that it was his mother (because he had been gone so long he forgot what she looked like).

The self-fulfilling part is that if he hadn't heard the prophesy he wouldn't have left. And if he hadn't left he would have known his mother and not killed her. So in fact him hearing the prophesy caused it to come true.

I forgot where I was going with this? Sorry

Nope, I think you're thinking of Oedipus. There's a prophecy that he will kill his father and marry his mother, so he leaves and then does end up doing what the prophecy said.

Odysseus' mom dies of grief because he is gone so long (lost sailing)...

Thanks Sarah. I knew it was a book and it started with "O"
