No prob. I was an English major and had to read both of the works, so I got it right away for once. I usually don't get the importance of the literature dropping they do.
And Hugo was reading a comic book that I did look up, but still don't really get the significance of except that one of the writers wrote it. But I think it was thrown in, cuz Hugo was reading a comic (the one with the polar bear--I saw it in disney world!) before the first flight.
I can't believe I missed the Odyssey reference.

Y: The Last Man is a very popular comic book right now. I don't think its meant to have any literary significance in the show. Walt was reading a non-English comic book in the opening episodes, so that's why Hurley was reading this Spanish comic. It was intended as another example of the same things happening to the Flight 815-ers again.
