My best guess is that Charlie told Hurley that he has to go back no matter what. That would also explain why he has the guitar, Charlie could have told him where it was.

I am a practical kinda gal..... I think I would have dressed for the occassion. Jack is in a suit and tie. I think I would have worn hiking boots and rugged clothes. No one thought of that? Hurley did bring a guitar for entertainment purposes I am asuming.

Didnt you love it when Jack asked "what about the other travelers in the back of the plane" and Ben said who cares.....

I still can't fiqure things out. My husband thinks I am crazy for watching this show. I bet anyone who doesnt watch thinks "we" are all crazy!

Yep, another dumb move on their parts, esp. since they knew exactly what they were going back to. It's one thing if your plane crashes unexpectedly and you're stuck with whatever you're wearing, but they knew. Same deal with Survivor - don't these people know how to dress?

Hurley bringing the guitar case could also mean that Charlie is the one who told him about the flight.

This makes sense, because Hurley was so against going back to the island. Charlie was really the only one Hurley totally trusted, so if Charlie appeared to Hurley and told him he had to go back, I think Hurley would do it.

Again, he's wearing the suit because he's re-creating his role in the 815 crash. It has nothing to do with being stupid or practical.

I posted something on the spoilers thread that is not really a spoiler but more of an observation. Because of the way they woke up on the island and there is no debris antwhere we can see I think that everyone in first class, Sayid, Ben, Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sun, the sympathy guy, and Sayids police escort all wind up back on the island in the Dharma era cira 1971 based on Jin showing up in the Dharma jumpsuit while the rest of the plane crashes on the Island circa 2008 (2005 when the Oceanic six left plus three years).

Pesonally, I don't think it was Kate, but her mom that was on the island. She would be about the same age as Ben.

I think Kate is younger than Ben and her mom is older. I don't think Annie is either one of them, or Charlotte.

Maybe Sayid was being deported back to Iraq and that's why he was on the plane? I'll have to look at a map as I have no idea if Guam is en route to Iraq.

As for Hurley, remember 2 weeks ago when Ben's lawyer (Norton??) said that the autopsy showed that the guy outside the mental institution was killed before Hurley got out so they had no evidence against Hurley. That would free him from jail, but I'm wondering WHO convinced Hurley to go back?

I'm thinking Sun is the one who convinced Kate to go back; she seems to be the only person that Kate would listen to (other than Sayid).

As for Aaron, initially I thought maybe Kate gave him to Claire's mom, but that would make it too easy for somebody to find Aaron. How about this: Kate gave Aaron to Sawyer's girlfriend, the one who's raising Sawyer's daughter. That would keep Aaron hidden.

I stated on the other thread - these people are stupid! None of them asked any questions about going back. Like: will we be able to leave again? will the plane just land on the island or will we have to go through another crash or parachute down or something? And Jack's a DOCTOR - you'd think he of all people would have asked Ben why his face was all bloodied! So frustrating!

As for Ben's face, I think Ben was injured by Desmond when he tried to kill Penny. Hopefully Ben didn't succeed, but I'll bet they don't tell us until the end of the season!

More thoughts later, but I have to get to work.

I agree that there would be no way to get me to leave my child behind and go to the island. Hope they have a very good explanation for that.

Who do you think could convince Sayid to go back?? I like the idea of Charlie talking Hurley into it, but Sayid seemed like he was done with it all.

I was so glad that Kate listened to Claire and left Aaron behind...now who does she trust enough to take care of him...?

He's in 1971 because that's where the island ended up when Locke "fixed" the donkey wheel. I don't know why he's wearing the Dharma jumpsuit, but I imagine the entire group will end up having to work with Dharma since it's Dharma's island right now.

Ben said he would kill Penny, because Widmore's men killed his "daughter" Alex.

I don't think Sayid was convinced to go back. I think he was forced to go back. That's why he's in handcuffs with an escort. Maybe Ben's doing?

Yes! I told DH then that the bottle was important. I'm convinced that the Losties are effecting themselves through the jumps--maybe that they were in the canoe that was shooting at Sawyer's group a few episodes ago?

The reason I think the plane did crash, and I think it crashed in the future is that in one of the flashes as those on the island are time traveling took them to their camp at the beach and it looked like someone had been living there and used most of the supplies. They found a Aijira airlines water bottle in the canoe. I think first class with Jack et al. goes to one time, while the coach passengers that survive go to the current island. Certainly someone from the front of the plane could have had a water bottle, but if you accept that they went to 1971 how could the bottle have stuck around till after 2005. You know its after 2005 because the camp on the beach is there and was not prior to Oceanic 815 crashing.

As far as it being 1971, I wont say why but I strongly believe this. As far as Ben possibly killing Penny he was going to do that because Keamy who was sent on the freighter by Widmore to get Ben killed Alex, Ben's daughter so Ben swore he would kill Widmores daughter so he knew how it felt.

Remember when the news shows were showing video of the plane at the bottom of the ocean? Lapidus called the crash hotline to say that he knew for a fact that the body they showed on tv was NOT the pilot, that he was good friends with the pilot and that he (Lapidus) was supposed to be flying Flight 815. I have been thinking about this too, and if this is the case then all I have to say is man Stephen King made the biggest impression of all on those writers.

We've seen so many Stephen King similarities throughout the series, but that "looping" (316 now the new "survivors" and 815 the new "others") would just be the ultimate homage.

I just told DH the other day that he is crazy for not watching Lost. I wish he would watch it because it is such a good show. But he says it is too confusing. Of course, he is right, it is confusing. But, I love the whole mystery surrounding the island. And putting the pieces together to solve the riddle of whatever the heck is going on.
