The Official LOST Season Five *No Spoilers* Thread

Based on what they are wearing then, the two dead men on the beach were Brennan and Lacombe. You can tell because Lacombe has a collar. Hmmm, and I was really getting into that theory, too!

I agree. I don't think they were copies of Robert but rather ruso's other possies.

I need to ask though... What are the rules about posting on "NO SPOILER" thread? I understand not to talk about anything that is going to happen in an upcoming episode but are DVD commentaries and/or writer interview allowed?

I have something I just discovered that I had forgotten about until I just read it on lostpedia. Can I bring this up?

Awww - Brennan was such a cutie! May he rest in peace.

And since I'm on the subject of cuties, just have to interject here: Jack and Desmond were looking good in that last scene in the church!

I would think so. It's not like it's inside info. that gives away details of future stories, right?

OK. Here is something I came across at lostpedia. Do you remember Horace Goodspeed? He was the man that Locke found building the cabin that contained Jacob.
Well here are other facts that we know about him from watching the show
he was present in Oregon on the day that Benjamin Linus was born
helped Ben's father to get a job on the Island
and was killed during the Purge
His DHARMA jumpsuit identified his role as "Mathematician".

BUt here is where it gets weird (the following is copied straight from lostpedia.
Approximately 12 years later, Horace appears to Locke in a dream. Locke observes Horace in a repetitive cycle, chopping down a tree over and over, and occasionally wiping blood from a nosebleed which appears and disappears. Horace is building a cabin for himself and "the missus" (presumably Olivia). In different aspects of the repeating cycle, Horace tells Locke that he (Horace) has been dead for 12 years, that Jacob has been waiting a long time for Locke, and that in order to find him, Locke must first find Horace himself. Locke goes to the mass grave for the Dharma Initiative, and in the front shirt pocket on Horace's corpse, he finds the blueprints for Jacob's cabin, also containing a map of its location. ("Cabin Fever")

Why was he having nosebleeds? Was he time travelling too?
And what is the conection between him and Jacob?

That is what I had thought the entire time, then i started to second guess myself after reading everything here. But I definitely dont think they were copies of Robert - I think they would have made that very clear if that was the case.

I do remember Horace and every thing else you mentioned. There were theories that Horace was indeed Jacob. Again, I think there are alot of possibilities for Jacob. I just have to wonder if a character that has just had a small role so far will turn out to be someone as important as Jacob apparently is.

Wow, nice work everyone.

Glad you all caught that or I would have been wondering about it for absolutely no reason!!

I like it my way better. :p ;)

How annoying was it for them to cast 3 guys that look WAAAAY too much alike!

I saw that too and Horace looks an awful lot like the long haired person we saw in the cabin...

Thanks for that link. I was looking for a picture like that. From left to right it is Montand, Robert(kneeling), Nadine, Brennan, Danielle(kneeling) and Lacombe.

Ok - I'm convinced now.;) 3 different guys. Good detective work!

Hi everyone! I'm a bit late in joining the thread....

I just read through all the comments from Wednesday's show (which I just watched tonight-Thursday) and I was so frustrated when it ended! Arg!!

But, reading all the comments helps calm me down, I love all the theories! Very interesting about who Ben's friend Annie is - after this show I'm really wondering if it's Charlotte...she grew up on the island and after they left she moved to England...interesting stuff!

I don't recall seeing Daniel build the temple...what episode was that in? :confused3

I didn't think it was the temple. I thought it was the Orchid station that he was helping to build. Anyway, that happened in episode one this season.

And I have to ask...
Who else was doing this :cheer2: :cheer2: when Jin hugged Sawyer ?

  yes! best moment of the episode. Eventually Jin and Sun will be together and it'll be great to see how its handled. The actor that plays Jin is so good at showing emotion with his expressions.

There seems to be a lot of speculation as to who Annie might be. So, I decided to post a picture of young Annie.
435px-3x20_annie02.jpg

I think she looks more like Kate than either Charlotte or Juliette. And don't forget that back in season one, Kate used the name Annie as an alias. Plus, her middle name is Anne. Something to think about. Maybe Kate's Mom is Annie. I know that is a stretch. But there is definitely a resemblance between young Annie and Kate. Oh, and Kate's Mom is named Diane.
Wow, that is the best Annie theory I've read so far! What really makes me believe this is the freckles. Annie has lots of freckles. Kate, obviously, has lots of freckes. :)

So annoying. I get so many people on this show confused.

And, I'm not sure time moves the same way on the island as it does back where the O6 are. 3 years in O6 time could be a couple days on island time. Who knows? I throw out absolutely all logic when thinking about this show.

Hope everyone had a great valentine's day. I got me errr... i meant my husband... the Lost Season 1 DVD set. We are gonna start rewatching tonight.

Thank you! I still don't remember it, but that's a good excuse to re-watch. :goodvibes

That's a great gift your "husband" got you. :rotfl: Let us know if you find any "tidbits" that might relate to what's going on now!
