The Official LOST Season Five *No Spoilers* Thread

Did anyone watch the rerun of the last week's episode that aired before last night's new episode? It had the pop-ups with additional info. It identifies the woman lighting the candles and talking to Ben at ELOISE Hawking. I'm thinking that she is Daniel's mother and IS the young girl holding him hostage last night on the island. Her name was Ellie, right?

I think that makes sense. I really like the pop ups because its impossible to catch everything. It'll be interesting to see what Desmond does when he meets her.

Yep, I heard that in the preview, too. I guess we'll doing some more jumping into the future on the island. So that means somehow the Oceanic 6 DO get back to the island.

I think Juliette just guessed that the 1950's military people were Others. I'm wondering if she knows more about Richard than she's telling, or she's just coming to realize (like we are) that Richard has been with the Others forever??

My DS18 had a thought: know how Hurley's been having conversations with dead people? Wouldn't it be neat if Desmond's Charlie will somehow "channel" the dead Charlie and warn Desmond about things? (Personally, I think it would be cool if Desmond's Charlie would start singing "We Are Everybody"!)

That would be very cool! I miss Charlie so bad.

Another thing - has anyone ever watched the movie Seven? Kevin Spacey's character reminded me so much of Ben. Wonder if he studied that movie to play Ben?

Great... just when I feel like I know what's going on in life, Lost comes on again and I'm a mess trying to figure out whatever it is they throw at us this week!

See this is where I disagree. The reason is that these kind of things are not done within the context of the show. I am a Lost junkie, I freely admit it, and I read all the stuff I can on it. But, if not for other more dedicated junkies we would not even know that her last name was Hawkings because it was never revealed in the show. The reason we even know it is because a junkie read the script and casting call sheets where the characters name was revealed. Then we only get her first name via a recap show. The writers/producers have promised in the past that everything you need to figure things out are contained in the show. All the ancillory things like the Lost Experience, or the Oceanic Air website and all the rest are not needed to figure the show out, but this is an example of that not being true.

I love the show but I wish they would keep it all in the show as opposed to having to do all the detective work.

I thought the pop-ups were just pointing things out that were from the show. I thought it was more of a here's some little connections that you might have missed.

Sort of like when I'm reading a book, and when I re-read it I pick up on little things that I've missed.

I'm hoping that after the series ends, to get it on DVD and go back and watch it all through and be able to see all the little connections myself.
