Really? If it wouldn't have meant half-a-picture, I'd have quit halfway through mine it hurt so much. I just sat there sobbing through the whole thing. But I did get it on the outside of my ankle - and I have very bony ankles.

Ouch!!! I had heard the ankles, wrist and upper arm are THEE most painful spots for tats. I steered clear of those areas!

Maybe well get you drunk enough and get you tatted with lime green Mickey icon on your ankle!!!

That is exactly what I tell people. It just hurts a little at the beginning, but once your adrenaline starts, it's ok. For me it feels like someone is scratching my skin with a key. My first tat took about 1.5 hours, and my 2nd tat took almost 3 hours. It's a full watercolor fairy scene on my lower back. Talk about ouch!

I have to get them both colored in. But I'm scared. I heard it's more painfull to have to color redone. Any opinions???

well my fiance is getting his tattoo that they are working on right now done in three sittings.. they did the line work first, then the grey work and tonight he is getting the color... mine have always been done at one time.. so its all just numb by color time.. I heard to get it REdone hurts.. like after it has bee done once because thats just tattooing over scar tissue.. but to have color done after your line work has been done is just easy peasy!! the color hurts less than the outline.. different needle..

tattoos are not as bad as people think they are! I them!! after the first few minutes your adrenaline kicks in and it doenst hurt anymore but while you can feel it it just feels like you are rubbing on a sunburn.. not to harsh! I have 3 and I am setting up an appointment to get my 4th soon!

I agree...not that bad. Feels like you're being stung with a rubber band. Mine are on my ankle and calf on opposite legs! I am addicted...meeska and I may be getting a commemorative one!

Nope...I've been waxed...ONCE...I don't think you're wierd at all! And...um...I was waxing to "get ready for summer" as Meeska calls it...

No, no wax! I had an epilady at one time and that was bad too!!!

My first tat is all black except for the cat's eye, which is blue. The second (the one that hurt so much) is a lot of reds and blacks. The outline didn't hurt, it was all the shading after the color!

I had thought about my ankle but that is too close to bone for me and DH has a wristband, again too close to bone for me. I had not heard that upper arms hurt, I wonder why that is? There is a lot of muscle/flesh there so I would think it wouldn't. I hope it doesn't, that's for sure!!! I won't stop once it is started, but I don't want to go through the pain I went through on the last one a year ago, either. Mind you, I have no idea what childbirth feels like (my DD is adopted) but I know the pain that one put me through and while I love the tats I do not like the pain!

Disneyland_Mama, how far from the park are you? I think you said at one point but I forget. If you are fairly close maybe we can meet for lunch or something while we are out there in August?

I'm about 15 mins on a good day. If you're here before 8/21 (I'll be in WDW 8/21-30), then most definintly, we should meet up. :thumbup2

My brother got an arm band, and he said it was the most painful tat he's ever gotten. He's got at least a dozen!

I member when those things came out and the lady at the cosmetics counter tried to show me on my arm. Wholly carp! I screamed at her and asked if was flippin' crazy!! It was the worse pain evah!!!!

Nope - I don't have one either. It's not worth the pain in my opinion. DH has one and I make fun of him because it is a rose. When he was 17 or 18 (Sr in High School), his mom told him he could not get a tatoo. So he drove to Charlotte one day and came home with one. She was mad. He said he got a rose because it was the only one he could afford. He says he is going to get something else put over it.

I don't have one either. Now piercings I can handle. I have 4 in my left ear, 5 in my right ear and my belly button pierced. The "extra" on in my right ear is in my tragus. Thats that little flap of cartilige in front of the hole. I want to get my eye brow done next and also a "Marilyn" (above my lip like a beauty mark), and my other tragus.
