I am new to this board as well as this site. We are leaving for Disney in 8 days! It will be myself, DH, DD 4, DD 5, DS 6 months and my mom. We will be staying at WBC off site. We plan to attend the park for two of the five days we're there. Our main interests are Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios because of the ages of our kids. Any suggestions or tips? This is our first Disney trip.

This board is a great place to start!!! I would spend some time browsing the forums first. There are so many tips. I bet asking this question on the theme parks and attractions board will get you a lot of responses and probably a bunch of links to similar questions!

I would say when at MK, make sure to hit Fantasyland first. The kids will love doing rides like dumbo, Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, etc. Your older ones will probably like rides like Pirates and if they are tall enough Big Thunder Mt.

At Hollywood Studios I'm sure they will enjoy Toy Story Mania.

My best advice is to make sure that you don't over plan and make sure you take breaks.

I can't believe y'all are still in school. In all honesty, I'd probably want to shoot myself I was still having to deal with kids at this late date. I hope they go smoothly for you!

I am really ready for it to be over. Today and tomorrow are the only major days that matter and then exams will be over for the kids and we just play for the last day and a half. Most of the kids don't even come the last day because it is truly pointless especially since it's a half day. I just can't wait to be able to get the house in order, pack, and get ready for Disney. That is really all I think about at this point. We will be checking in at the same time as you so at least we know that there will still be two of us around to help wait out the time together.

I'm back!!! and I already have the post disney blues, luckily for me my parents realized they've never gone on vacation with dd so we might be going next year instead of 2013 like planned I had an amazing time and will be starting my trip report soon!

That is really all I think about at this point. We will be checking in at the same time as you so at least we know that there will still be two of us around to help wait out the time together.

Thankfully, our kids get an increased number of exemptions in the spring so long as they do well on our state's tests. That meant that I only tested maybe 33% of my students over the last three days. It made those days much easier. Our check out procedures though are truly a kick to the teeth.

Yay! I am glad that you had a great time. Some of us are still hear waiting to go! But it's getting closer and closer. I'm happy for you that you might get to go again so soon.

Great to read those LIVE reports...so glad people are posting them. A bit afraid but I'm sure we'll be fine.

Less than 48 hours until we will be on our way to Disney!

Thanks to all those who gave comments or advice regarding my daughter. Sorry I'm not responding personally to each of you but the comments were appreciated. So far it looks like the meds MIGHT be working. Yesterday was our first headache free day in weeks...and tonight she had one, but still was able to go to sleep quickly. So hoping the meds work and for now, my new challenge will be to make sure I have her meds on me at ALL times in case we are out and about when it's time for her to take them. Trying to make sure she takes them regularly at night.

Last night I finished up packing the fun packets for the kids on the drive home and packed my bag for the ride down. I completed some tags with the June 2011 Logo and LGMH that I will try to laminate to attach to my bags. I may try to have a magnet on our door as well with the logos.

Tomorrow is our last day to get stuff done. DH has been GREAT about getting laundry done today....so that I can pack the kids up tomorrow. I know the next two days are going to go by too fast and hope I get everything done tomorrow that I planned to do this weekend. We just got busy and socialized with neighbors and so did not get as much done as I'd hoped.

I do have somebody to care for our cats and fish and want to write up something for them as well. I am going to have another neighbor over tomorrow to water our garden for us...and show her our house since she's been wanting to see it and we've spent a lot of time at their house this week...kids have been swimming in their pool. It's been great.

DH and I are both home tomorrow. In the morning we will attend the rewards cermonies at the kids' school. After that I have a doctor's appointment to attend. Then the kids get home and have dental checkups, and in the evening we plan to have dinner with DH's parents. Busy day and hope we still have time to get everything else done. Oh and I want to get haircuts at least for the boys...but don't know when I'll squeeze that in right now! Kids still clueless as to our plans to leave early...but it's been hard because people ask us and we can't tell them around the kids!

Well we are leaving late this afternoon...we will stop off in Georgia near the Florida state line to spend the night. Then off to KSC on the 14th, Sea World 15th-16th and finally going home to Pop on the 17th!!!
Glad to hear the live trip reports as well but they worry me a little! We've never done a full week at Disney in the summer...only one day to MK last year when we did Sea World. I hope we won't be overwhelmed with the crowds/heat since we've always gone in the fall before!
