**The Official January 2012 WDW Thread**

Haha, everyone's talk of getting new shoes has made me realise that I don't have anything practical for walking the miles I day I've heard I'll be doing, so I think I'll have to pick up a new pair this weekend :)

Fellow weather watchers about to depart... take a look at that forecast today! :yay: All we needed was faith, trust and a little pixie dust!

Haha, everyone's talk of getting new shoes has made me realise that I don't have anything practical for walking the miles I day I've heard I'll be doing, so I think I'll have to pick up a new pair this weekend :)

That's usually me each trip. This time it's dh though, just got him 2 new pairs yesterday.

Am I the only one here hoping for chilly weather? I have all new sweatshirts and some other long sleeve tees to wear. :) It wouldn't be Disney in January if it wasn't at least 60 or under.

I did some last-minute shoe shopping today too. Penneys had the best sale going today - two pairs of Skechers, one of which is the exact same style as my everyday shoes that are starting to look pretty beat, and a pair of boots for here at home all for $33. :goodvibes I love the folks over at the Budget Board... without their heads-up I'd have missed it completely and paid a lot more elsewhere.

Yup I got those sketchers too. This morning I got a backorder notice :( so hopefully they dont cancel. Then I ordered a pair of sneakers from Pennys too...not the best price but with the free shipping and 10% off not too bad...hubby didnt like any from pannys so we got his at show carnival...25% off and free shipping...and he picked out cheap shoes which he never does.

I still have some last minute stuf to get too...DS might need some long sleeve shirts of zip ups...not sure I might just make due with what we have. And I think DH needs at least 1 pair of jeans.

I plan on doing all the laundry Friday night and then doing some packing sat morning so we will see how it goes.

You arrive the day we leave... you can wish for cool weather on your time. :lmao:

We've had an unseasonably warm winter here in the northeast so usually our FL winter escape is to warm up and kick the winter blues. The blues haven't kicked in and since it has been so mild we need FL to be warmer than home. Granted I'm not hoping for 90's (although would make for a great pool day ;)) but I would be thrilled with 70's and wont complain at those 60's one bit!

I'll compromise with ya - could we do mornings that are in the low 50s (sweatshirt weather) and then long afternoons of 75 degrees weather? I have a few sundresses I wouldn't mind wearing in January... :goodvibes

This is where we are at with the weather as well - want to feel the warm sun on my face while we are there - and use the pool without freezing on the way back to the room. :scared1:

Never fails--11 days to go and someone gets sick. :sick: Took DD3 to the doctor this a.m. and she has a chest cold and ear infection. Z pack just started and lets hope this comes and goes fast!

We are just back from our trip. 2 of my boys were on antibiotics the whole time. They both had ear and sinus infections right before we left. DS2 did his fair share of licking handrails and seat backs while we were there:rotfl2:. I'm glad he was on the antibiotics.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

:rotfl::rotfl2:

I want the warmest weather possible ...yeah, I know it's not going to happen but now when it gets cold I'm blaming it on Rachel!!

Too funny! Glad you had the meds.

So how was your trip?? Highlights??

11 Days till Disney :banana::cool1::yay::cloud9:

9 days until we leave. We start our drive in the morning on Friday the 20th. Take our time. Drive until we feel like stopping and then drive as much as we can the next day, get to disney early on Sunday and head to the park until our room is ready :)

I still have a lot to do but most of it is getting done on Monday when my DD is at preschool for a whole day.

Getting the van cleaned, inside and out, packing the clothes, pack what food I can and go to the grocery store and get the last of the stuff we need to bring, give the place a final cleaning before the dog sitter comes to stay.

Monday is gonna be a busy day.

I checked the weather for Friday... that's as far as I can get right now lol. it's like a prize. Each day will reveal a new weather day HAHA. Supposed to be 39 and sunny as of right now... I hope it stays that way. Perfect for driving.

going to call The bippity boppity boutique and see if there have been any morning cancellations at Magic Kingdom lol

I purchased something from jcpenney online for $15 and they ran out of stock so I got a $50 gift certificate :) I used it to get my daughter some tights and a cardigan and such for the trip. that way she can wear her dresses and we can just layer or unlayer as the temp goes up and down :)

I am hoping for mid 70's, comfortable enough to walk around the parks and possibly take a dip in the POFQ pool.

We fly out tonight! :banana::banana::banana: Looks like tomorrow will be nice but then the cold front makes it way down to Florida and it will only be about 60 Friday and Saturday with lows in the 40's. That's okay, we are prepared!

HAHA!! I just told DH last night I am glad she is on antibiotics the week before we leave, she can touch all the stuff we may not see and hopefully won't bring it home with her!!

:rotfl: I apologize in advance. You can blame it on me :laughing:

I'll be honest. I was secretly hoping for 70's across the board. Even the low 60's are cold to me :) But clearly I don't live somewhere with snow or freezing temps ;) But I can live with the 60's; I'm just hoping it doesn't rain a lot on our trip!

We have 1 more day left. :banana::banana::banana::banana: We're leaving for the airport tomorrow at 9:30 am, so today is my last day to get stuff done. And even though I've already packed for myself and DS (DH hasn't even started yet, GRRR!) and cleaned the house, I still feel like I have a lot of last minute stuff to do. Charge all the electronics and finish packing the carry on bag once those are done, last minute load of laundry after everyone showers tonight, run the dishwasher after we all eat, print boarding passes, clean up the pile of hotwheels in my living room, etc. But first I need to finish up my last day of work, and it is really, really dragging. It's hard to concentrate and I just keep thinking of all the stuff I need to finish up, but I have work I need to finish up too. *sigh*

Good luck on BBB!

yeah, the prize of another weather day revealed!! :rotfl2:

I already told DH that we are loading up the truck the night BEFORE we leave, so he needs to be all packed by then. Just one small bag for last minute essentials like phone cords, brush, etc

We'll see ... last time we spent about 45 minutes waiting for him to finish packing before we could leave.:sad2:

3 days!!! :banana::banana::banana::banana:

I'll be honest - I have come very close to just blurting out the surprise to the kids several times!! I can't stand it anymore!

The kids will each open a giant gift bag on Saturday morning - inside they will find their packed suitcases with their mickey ear hats attached. I anticipate that it will take all of about .2 seconds for them to figure it out, and that pandemonium will ensue shortly thereafter. :woohoo:

I am mostly packed - kids are mostly packed - DH hasn't even started yet, of course. :sad2: I think he does this to intentionally drive me insane!

The forecast is looking great! :thumbsup2

The surprise is KILLING me too!!!! I know it will be worth it, but it's getting insanely hard to be this excited and not let on anything to the kids. Packing and such during the day and hiding it all before school lets out and all that is tough work! But it's almost there for us!!

2 more days! :teacher:

16 more days till we leave! I for one can not wait for the florida weather! Right now its between 0-3F and into the negatives with the wind chill! The wind this year has been crazy, and we are to get a colder snap in the next week or so. Who knows winter in Alberta is full of surprises... however we dont have much snow, and I am hoping we dont get anymore untill we get back!

Is there any Dis meets happening from Jan 28 to Feb4? Would be cool to all gather and pretend we are a tour group all hollering and such as we push our way onto a ride!!! Just Kidding...... or am I!

I don't know how you guys can keep the secret! You are much stronger than me!!

We have been talking about going to Disney pretty regularly for the last month. Even my DD2 has been packing her suitcase DAILY for the trip!! Of course her packing is just loading up all her toys into a pillow case :rotfl2::lmao:

But at least she is packing ... unlike most of our DH's!:rotfl:
