What a great meet! We had lots of fun hanging out with DISers till 10:30ish, then struck out on our own till midnight. We bought the single EPs, which I didn't even know existed (and which many of the people in guest services don't know exist either...I won't even go into that confusion). They were $5 each, and you can buy as many as you want and use 'em on any house. Better than EP where it's each house only once, so of course we focused on faves like Dead Exposure. I don't know how often they offer those EPs, but they were great. They also sold the after-10 EPs for 20, which made the EP lines really ridiculous at the end.
We did houses with the group till 10:30, which was lots of fun. We got quite a bit done early on, but the crowds were massive so we had to switch to using EPs. We didn't do any of the shows since DH and I wanted to concentrate on our favorite houses with the single EPs. The smoking in line was utterly ridiculous, and it burned me to watch Security people walk right by without saying anything. I wouldn't care except that I have respiratory problems (I'm horking up lovely snot balls as I type this as an after effect of last night). And when I asked people right next to us to stop just as they were about to light up, they stopped with a huge attitude and I had to listen to them discuss what a witch with a b I was for the next 20 minutes. NOT acceptable that I have to play cigarette cop and be put into an uncomfortable situation just to keep myself from getting sick.
Other than that, it was a primo night. We ran out of time at the very end and had one pair of passes let, so we gave them to another couple at Dead Exposure who were heading to the standby line. They had no idea what express was but were very grateful when they saw winding standby line as we all just made a straight beeline into the house.
Not much action in the scarezones (although to be fair, we didn't do many of them) but the zombies outside of Dead Exposure were great as always. That and the ones outside of Scary Tales and Body Collectors are my definite favorites.
We were on the run from arrival (waited in the Finnegans pen with the other DISers) to midnight, with only a brief stop for gelato. We got socked with rain right after we left the last house, but thankfully we had ponchos and we stopped in Nascar for a really, really late dinner to wait it out. By the time we were done eating, valet had cleared out so there wasn't much of a wait for our car.
We're heading over again on Thurs. It's gonna be hard waiting!
