The *OFFICIAL* Grey's Anatomy Fan Thread!

did not see the merger either and I see McDreamy and the blonde hooking up eventually.

and yes, the hung thing was SO very Sloan, disgusted or not, have you watched before? That is ALL DAY LONG something he would ask, and yes, on his deathbed.

Hmm...well I really liked last night's premiere. I enjoyed how they showed everyone dealing with George's passing and how the relationships are progressing. You know, my mom asked me this morning if I thought Derek and Arizona were being foreshadowed and I really didn't see it that way, but she did. I too was surprised by the merger news and I am really over the cheif's attitude. I thought it was a good way to start off the season.

Loved the premier, but sad to see George go. I loved the scene where George's mom comes to talk to Owen about George's decision to join the army. Very well done. :thumbsup2

Which blonde? Arizona?

I was really dissappointed with the show. I do not like how they handled George's death at all. It's like they were laughing at him not reflecting about his life and such.

The poor woman that he saved has alot to live with, I do understand Izzie at the end to her but I still think she was wayyy to mean.

What Sloan said was just so wrong I don't care if he is always like that, just wrong.

I also didn't like how abruptly the show went to commercials, did anyone else notice that? I think the Merger thing is quite realistic in today's world and that I did like.

I also agree with a PP that Mcsteamy and Arizona will TOTALLY hook up at some point.

I hope McDreamy doesn't hook up with Arizona!!

I am so done with them having problems. I like them happy. I'd rather watch them have arguments over building their dream house on that land Derek bought than watch another love triangle.

I hated the season opener. I thought it was a real snooze-fest. If the rest of the episodes keep up in this light, I won't have to worry about which shows to watch/tape on Thursday nights.

I really wasn't impressed with the episode. I'll admit I didn't cry.

Woo! I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that was really disappointed with the premiere. I found it boring and hated the way they handled George's death. The fact that I didn't even cry (which I had fully expected to do) says it all on that for me. I will miss George. I am not sure I am going to enjoy this season at this point.

.

That's actually what I loved about it. When my mom died, one of her friends at the wake told a joke about an episode in their life when my mom was young and it was great. It really turned the wake from some thing sad and depressing to a celebration of her great life. Before we knew it other people were chiming in with stories of things they shared with "Helen".
It truly gave my dad, my siblings and me a great insight into this terrific person, sure we were still terrible sad but it was nice to laugh and realize how many people she touched.

I hated how the chief started acting like a collosial jerk.

Spoiler!

Please don't tell me they're killing off the chief, too!

I don't see a spoiler?

*********

Add me to the list of people disappointed in the season premiere. I was prepared to cry, but it just didn't come. I do think that Sloan's comment were totally him, and was surprised about the merger too. I didn't like the way Derek & Arizona were almost flirting - it just didn't feel right and I don't want to see Derek & Meredith break up again!

You know that Meredith is pregnant IRL, right? She's temporarily leaving the show because they don't want to show her pregnant. I don't know where they are going to have her go, but Derek will be scott-free during her absence.

(I didn't white this out because it's been broadcast all over the entertainment news, so like George's contract not being renewed, I don't see this as being a spoiler. Sorry to anyone who thinks it is.)

I believe she had the baby last week, just a few days before the premiere? A baby girl named Stella Luna, someone correct me if I am wrong please.

I hadn't heard that.

Every time I hear the name, Stella, I think of my dearly departed Aunt Stella. She was truly a hoot!

I didn't care for the episode. To me, it seemed more like the end of the series than the beginning of a new season. Nothing happened that makes me want to watch it again. The chief has been acting like a real jerk for a long time; it's time for him to go.

No worries on the "spoiler" - they don't bother me anyway.

But no! How did I not know she was pregnant in IRL? I guess I haven't been paying enough attention to entertainment news.

I didn't like last night's episode. We had an announcement at work about layoffs yesterday too, so it was just a little too close to reality for me. :sad2: And I agree with the poster that said the chief has been acting like a jerk - it's just not fun to watch right now.

I thought this week's episode was better than last week's but still boring.

Derek would not have been able to be as amiable to those furloughed if he was the chief making the layoff decision. There would be animosity toward him and not the sense that he was one of them at risk for being let go.

The sad thing is those residents who were let go often times have to restart a residency at a new hospital as an intern. It happened to one of my friends years ago when his hospital lost its accredidation as a surgical teaching hospital. He was at the end of his 2nd year and had to start over.
