OMG!

I agree with Izzy making it and George not. They have really been pushing the whole George "helping" others thing lately that I can see him "helping" Izzy realize that she needs to go back...for Alex, for Mer, for the rest of them. When George sat and talked to her about she had already decided what she wanted to do before he left the hospital and saying she wanted to fight makes me think she will make it back while he will be the one.

Any thoughts on how this will effect Mer? Callie?

I was thinking that the guy was deaf and was trying to 'sign' something. I was in complete shock!

I thought it was interesting that they left it as a cliff hanger for both of them - either one could potential be brought back to life starting next season...

It was an amazing episode!

I feel the same way! I was bawling by the end when I realized it was George! I don't know if I could watch anymore if they kill off both characters - that would just be too much!

I agree with the other posters that it seems like Izzy might come back since she was hesitating on the elevator - it made it seem like George was already dead and Izzy was almost dead. I completely forgot that TR had talked about leaving the show until I realized he was John Doe since everyone was so wrapped up in talks about Izzy leaving lately.

I figured it out about half way through...I said to my DH "I bet that's George" and he said "Yeah, I think you're right"....sooooo sad! I was telling my sister about it this afternoon (she used to watch but has since stopped) and I started crying AGAIN!! I'm such a sap!!
If they had to kill off one, I wish it was Merideth instead of George!! I know he really wanted to leave the show but I'm still bummed!!

I am on board with 2 thoeries (I cannot make up my mind as to which one):

1. George was not in the elevator so he has crossed over already.

or

2. George is so disfigured that they can replace TK with another actor, and we will not "know" it.

I knew something was up with George, but did not expect this!! I cannot believe they would end it like that!!

I got that feeling too, when he was first trying to write a note to Meredith.

Then I re-watched the episode this morning, and you can tell it's George in there under all the injuries (makeup). The hair and the eyes are good clues.

He was a favorite character of mine as well, and I'm sorry to see it, but I think he's gone. Izzie may be around, but sick, for a while more.

I figured early on it was George. At 1st I thought he was trying to make a 'G' for George. I thought the episode was well done. I felt really sorry for Bailey. But I gotta say Tuck has a point. When does she see her son?? I know its TV but they work around a zillion hours and now she would have some normalcy. If she wants to see what being a Superstar Doctor instead of a Mom looks like just look at how screwed up Mer is.

I hope Izzy lives because , I'm a love triumphing over all , kinda gal and Alex Carev has done some amazing growing with Izzy. I also think that there is no moral dilemna or drama anymore with ignoring the DNR if she dies. So Izzy needs to go on a ventilator for a few episodes and then get better.

I do think though that this episode does have a very important message TELL THE PEOPLE YOU LOVE THAT YOU LOVE THEM!!! Life is fragile. There are no guarentees. Think of someone who is or was important to you ~ Grandparent, Aunt , Uncle , Parent ( I hope you already tell your significant other or child that you love them all the time) or who ever and call them and tell them that you love them and a favorite memory. Why do we wait for a funeral to think of the good things people have done for us. Why not tell them now while they can hear us. My Dad was a NYC Detective during very turbulent times when cops were the enemies and killing cops was all too frequent. My siblings and I always made sure we told Dad before he left and when he came home we loved him. It was a habit we got into and continue to this day. So make someone's day and tell them they are loved and special.

George was given the nickname "007" in the first season when he made some mistakes. As in "license to kill"

I hadn't heard him called that in awhile, but earlier in Thurs. show, Alex did joke about 007 joining the army, to remind viewers.

George, he looked so handsome in his uniform. I had no idea it was him either. Until Chief said he had left already when Bailey and Caley was looking for him.

I wonder if TK won't be replaced that why he was so badly injuried so if they did replace him it would be easy to explain why he didn't look like himself??

Agreed - George is a hottie in uniform with his haircut!

I seriously hope they don't try to replace TR Knight with another actor; that would kill the show for me!

I have been thinking about the way George was hit by the bus... it has just been stuck in my mind for days... it was so awful

DH and I were screaming at our TV when he got the 007 out. Our poor neighbors probably hate us. I thought it was Thatcher at first or maybe one of the interns, but George never crossed my mind.

I just read in People that TR and Katherine were the only 2 people who didn't show up for the wrap party for the cast and crew. I would really hate to see them go.

DH just turns to be and randomly asks 'Why are they mourning X, are they leaving the show'? He didn't watch it with me last year, and had no idea of the plotline and that I was trying to not have it spoiled. Bah.

Nope, I really try to avoid magazines, websites, tv shows etc that talk about or speculate about most shows. Plus we moved this summer and I started graduate school so I just didn't pay attention. I like being surprised.

I think she is probably just in denial...why would another person do the 007 thing? I loved the 5 min preview it made me so anxious for the new season, but also really sad for George

I think she's in denial too...can't wait till Thursday!! Even though I know I'm going to cry during the show!!
