In juvie.

Overall, not thrilled with this episode. I didn't recognize any of the music, so it was just "eh" for me.

Wekl I'm old as dirt and i knew ALL the songs;)

Thats what is so great about this show-it really appeals to a VERY large audience:)

I really enjoyed tonight's episode. I thought the duet with Santana and Mercedes was the best one. Although, Kurt has an amazing voice.

Santana and Mercedes were awesome! I had to go to itunes right after the show to buy that song.

I'm not sure how much I'll enjoy the Rocky Horror Glee Show, since I don't know anything about the Rocky Horror Picture Show. :confused3:rolleyes1

Ok-so all you youngin's -find somebody who is in their late 50's and ask them what they remember about The Rocky Horror Picture Show;)

When those old folks were young and cool and single-it was the thing to do every single Saturday night in every town, city in America to go to a theater-not a mega plex-a single screen theater and watch this movie at midnight

It had a HUGE cult following. People attended dressed as the characters-people said the lines during the show

It made Susan sarandon a star!!:)

I thought so many of last nights duets were very well done & I was very impressed.

Last night did seem to take some interesting turns w/ characters' actions & behaviors & I'm intrigued to see how they go forward. I thought Kurt & his dad's conversation was very real. I totally understood Kurt's reaction when his dad supported Finn, but then when dad explained I knew he was just trying to protect Kurt. I absolutely love their father/son relationship & wish all kids had that kind of support at home.

Us old folks in our forties as well! I cannot wait for the Rocky Horror Glee Show! Many the the Saturday night did I spend in fishnets and glitter eye shadow, throwing toast at a movie screen!

Dammit Janet, You're a %*!$!

Awwww - good times!

I've never seen Rocky Horror, so really don't have an interest in watching that Glee show.

Good thing, since I'll be at WDW for that week. ;)

FergieT, I'm 36. :)

Add me to the old as dirt group because I loved the songs too! DH and I use to sing the Elton John KiKi Dee song all the time when we were dating and we sang it last night for the kids, I think they thought we had lost our minds!!!

I remember the Rocky Horror show, but I lived in a small town so we never had midnight showing of it, but I have seen the movie many times. Not only did Susan Sarandon get her start, also Barry Bostwick! I can't believe how young he looked compared to now. She hasn't changed that much.

I once got hit in the head with an unwrapped roll of toilet paper! Good times!! I cannot wait for this episode!

There are still some movie theaters in New York City that have midnight showings.

Let's do the Time Warp again ...

I loved Don't Go Breakin My Heart, so did my 14 year old. She knows the song from Ella Enchanted LOL. She loves all the Glee music though, the show tunes, the oldies, all of it. Except Push It and Bootylicious. She didn't care for those two.

The oldies?????? I was in high school when some of those songs were in the Top 40.

I wonder if that makes me an oldie? Don't answer that!!!

Sorry, I am in the same category as you LOL, but to some of the Glee fans they are oldies. To us they are classics!

I liked the episode, I just cant watch Lea Michele sing.. those faces she makes!

I know! How many times does she have to squeeze her eyes shut in one song??

In juvie.

I think Ryan Murphy and the other writers do a great job with mixing old "classics" as well as newer stuff. I'm always impressed with the range of songs they use.

I knew all of the songs; I'm probably old enough to be your mother.

The song Mike and Jasmine sang was from "A Chorus Line". The duet Rachel and Kurt did at the end was originally done by Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand. The song Kurt did by himself was from "Victor, Victoria".

Yup. And "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" was a duet by Elton John and Kiki Dee.

Here is the original Streisand/Garland duet. It was recorded October 6, 1963 - 47 years ago! And Streisand was only 21 - younger than Lea Michele! Two amazing women . . .

I do too.
I think Mike O'Malley, the actor who plays Kurt's father, does such a good job.

It was my super conservative, academic in-laws who first introduced us to the Rocky Horror Picture Show!! I couldn't believe it, but they LOVED it! My FIL, a professor and chairman, said they he always wanted to go to a midnight showing and throw toast at the screen!!! :scared1: :scared1:

DH STILL sings "Time Warp" around the house every now and then! :scared:

And don't forget Tim Curry!!!!

That's where I first saw him, and I absolutely fell in LOVE with him!!!

And Meat Loaf as Eddie was great too!!!

Nah I'm 35 and we were all about the Rocky Horror Picture Show. I have a 4 CD set! lol

Midnight showing were a total HS and college thing!

I saw it last year on a cruise ship. lol.

I loved Glee last night, and I thought the Happy Days/Get Happy medley was incredible and a great homage to Judy and Barbra. I don't think that Lea does too many Barbra songs, I just think they are memorable because she does them so well. Her facial expressions annoy me, but as long as that amazing voice keeps coming out of her, she can do whatever she wants with her face.

Can't wait for Rocky Horror week. There are some great songs from it that could be incredible.

Can someone explain the significance of the Finn/Rachel song that everyone hated? I totally didn't get it. I haven't seen all the episodes, maybe I missed something.

Looking forward to the Rocky Horror show!
