The Official Gilmore Girls Thread

I totally missed last night's episode!! Can anyone recap it for me when they have a chance? :flower:

Last night's episode wasn't that great. Old man something or another died and asked that they make his house into a museum for a few months because he had all these antiques, relics, etc. So Luke offers to help set everything up but Taylor thinks he's just being sarcastic. But finally Luke tells him that Lorealai wanted to him to help so Taylor accepts that and makes Luke his "right hand man" on the project. Rory is at Yale and she and Paris are both kind of bummed out. Logan isn't returning any of Rory's calls and Doyle and Paris broke up? Or are in a fight or something. I didn't quite catch what's going on in between those two. So Rory decides to go home and stop moping around but when she gets there, Paris is there too. Turns out her dad is wanted by the IRS or owes money to someone and the gov't took possession of all their property in the U.S. so they can't come back from out of country until it's safe. So she is staying there with Rory and Kirk is there too. Because he's Kirk and he's weird and no one else will take him in. Uhh...oh! So the museum thing opens but they had brought in Dean ( :crazy2: ) to be the carpenter. He reacts really rudely to Luke and doesn't speak to him at all. So Luke is just kinda whatever about it. After the grand opening of the "museum" Taylor tells Luke he's thinking of keeping it open permanently but Luke tells him that's not a good idea. Turns out he has loved this man's house all his life and he always thought if he wanted a wife and kids this is where he'd want them to live. He wants to buy the house. So Taylor says he'll think about it. Hmmm...oh Rory, Lane, and Paris get kinda tipsy, Paris goes to find a payphone to call Doyle even though Rory told her not to but no one will give her 50 cents because she has no shoes on and they think she's homeless. Lane thinking Zack is cheating on her so she leaves to confront the older woman that she thinks he's cheating with. Rory calls Logan but gets his voicemail. His voicemail is cheerful saying "If this is Fin, meet us at (insert restaurant) there's going to be like 11 of us, blahblahblah." She gets upset and goes home. Luke confronts Dean about his attitude and Dean goes off on him saying that Loralai and Rory both want more, that Lorelai is going to get bored with him, and that Stars Hollow isn't enough for them so he doesn't have a chance because Luke is the town...something like that. So they cut off with Luke and this contemplative look on his face. Lane confronts the woman (who owns a music store in town) but it turns out Zack isn't cheating, he's meeting up with some guys to play bluegrass music and he was too embarassed to tell her about it because he and Lane are "rock and roll." So alls well that ends well. The final scene is Lorelai comforting Rory on the bathroom floor because she's drunk and crying "why doesn't he like me? did I do something wrong? why?" yadayada. Okay. Wow. I think I covered it all :rotfl:

I think Dean was right!...he looked so bitter about life and then when he took off on Luke I realized that what he was saying was right....Rory is looking outside her inner circle...I mean look at the guy she is after right now...(kindof like her dad!) rich, etc... Lorelei....well I'm not sure what she is headed for...I don't really think she knows either...she finally got her dream of the inn but what is next?...I just can't see her settling down.

and Luke...he kept lying to everyone about the house...and then he makes the comment he wanted the house...why couldn't he tell Lorelei?...a surprise?..scared?...hum....

So what did everyone think of last night's episode? I really liked it. Luke was hilarious and I have to say that I love Logan and Rory together. They really seem to fit. But his family -- what was up with them :confused3 ?

I dunno...I don't think Logan/Rory will last personally. Too much "to do" with the families...his family hates her...her family (well, her grandparents according to previews) love him.

Luke was too funny in the kitchen...

I thought it was much better than last week's. I loved Luke!! His tirade to Lorelai was hysterical.

Boy, you can definitely see the similarities between Logan and his dad, can't you?

And based on the previews, I think Emily and Richard are doing something fishy with the whole fawning over Logan thing...either to get back at Logan's parents, or to sabotage the relationship. Dunno yet.

oh oh oh!!
maybe because they figured out that Lorelie does NOT like Logan and KNOWs he's wrong for Rory.

as she just so happens to be attending a friday night dinner the same night logan is...I think you're right...emily figured it out and is fawning over them to irk Lorelie

My machine only taped the first five minutes. Can someone clue me in. I was also taping it for my daughter who is away at school. she is going to be so mad at me. :sad2:

:) I'll do my best.

Rory went to see Logan and let him know that she can't see him anymore. She wanted to go back to being just friends because she couldn't handle a casual relationship. Logan didn't want to lose her so now they are trying out a commited relationship :) .

Paris returned to the dorms to find a sick Doyle in her bed. His roomates kicked him out so he came to Paris to take care of him but since she was gone for the weekend, he holed up in her room. Paris gets her old Nanny to come take care of him. The two of them end up having a "relationship" talk and are now together also.

Sookie got put on bed rest so Loralei called Luke in a panic as they haven't yet found a replacement for Sookie while she's out with the baby. Luke comes to the rescue and does a wonderful job taking over at the inn's kitchen. Sookie drives him nuts calling in every ten minutes and having people sneek food to her so she can make sure Luke isn't ruining anything. Luke goes into this big tirade about how he wants to just walk out and leave but because of Loralei he can't and it's really cute :) .

Rory goes to dinner at Logan's parents house because his sister comes to his room and begs him to come because she is going to announce she is engaged to her boyfriend and she thinks it won't go over well with the family. Logan's family's house is enormous. When they arrive it's obvious that his mother and grandfather are not happy. The dad hasn't come home from the office yet. During dinner it comes out that the reason everyone is upset is not that the sister is engaged, it's that Logan has brought home Rory who isn't up to Huntzburger standards. Logan gets extremely upset and he and Rory leave, running into Dad on the way out. He seems nice.

On the way back to school, Logan and Rory don't speak and he just drops her off near her building saying he needs to think. She calls her mom crying and Loralei tells her how maybe this isn't a good relationship for her, etc. Then when Rory is on the phone, Logan comes back and apoligizes and asks her to come out and get something to eat with him. Rory seems fine again and you can tell Loralei feels she is really going down the path to be hurt by Logan but she bites her tongue.

The next day at the newpaper office Logan's dad comes in and offers Rory an intern job at his paper. He doesn't let her say no to it even though she does at first. She tells him she realizes he is just offering it to her because of what happened at dinner and he tells he who cares why she is getting the opportunity, she needs to seize it.

That's all from what I can remember :flower: .

I loved last night's episode! And I love Logan! He's so different than Dean and Jess (both of whom I did not like, especially Dean :crazy2: ). I really hope he stays in the picture for a while. They're good for eachother, IMO :)

To add to the above recap....Apparently it is a big deal that Logan is calling Rory his girlfriend, which is why is family freaks out so much. Apparently this is the first time Logan has ever had a true "girlfriend".

Also, I think that the Gilmore's fawning over Logan next week may have something to do with Rory choosing the life that Lorelei didn't want. They are just thrilled to pieces about it. I have a feeling that this relationship is going to cause quite a rift between Rory and Lorelei.

She also played Roman Brady's first wife on Days of Our Lives (according to my mom) but that was ages ago.

I liked last night's episode. I am another one who really likes Logan. There is just something about him. Have you heard the saying daughters date their "fathers" I think Logan is a lot like her dad. He's around for a while and it's great and then he disappears, just like Christopher. I shouldn't like him I suppose, but I really do. I think it could definitely cause a rift in Lorelei and Rory's relationship but not forever.
I thought Suki was so funny last night. That girl cracks me up and I Luke was great in the kitchen.
