A brief recap for funhouse:
Episode started with Lorelai getting up to meet Sookie at a flower market to select flowers for the wedding. Luke asks her where she's going and she doesn't want to tell him. She finally does, and then says she hadn't had time to call Sookie to tell her the wedding was off so she has to go. Luke gets up and tries to hug her and she avoids it.
She meets Sookie at the market and tells her the wedding's postponed. Sookie immediately asks her what she did and starts babbling the way Sookie does. I was actually annoyed with her during this. Lorelai finally gets a word in and tells her what's going on. They decide to not cancel anything yet, as maybe Luke will get adjusted quicker than he thinks.
Sookie takes Paul Anka home with her to test to see if she's a dog person before getting one. Luke's left a message on Lor's machine saying April was coming to the dinner until 8pm and he'd see Lor after 8. You can tell she's upset by this.
She goes to Taylor's candy shop and watches April and Luke through the window. Pretty much the whole town joins her gossiping. She gets upset and leaves. After she leaves Luke notices everyone watching and gets annoyed. He vents about this to Lor later. He thanks her for understanding he needs "alone" time with April. Lorelai at this point is pretty visable crushed by the whole thing, and Luke is an idiot for not noticing (okay, so that last comment was not exactly part of the summary but just a personal opinion).
So, on to Rory: She finally agrees to dinner with Logan on Thursday night. But on Thursday when she goes to the paper to finalize her article, the whole staff has quit and Paris is trying to put the whole paper out on her own. She's clearly past rational thought. Rory takes charge and starts calling people and giving orders to get the paper out. Logan arrives to pick her up and she apologizes for not being able to go to dinner. He says he'll help and off they go. They get the paper out on time. Paris is nuts.
Lorelai talks Rory into a Friday night dinner with the grandparents. It's a lot of little scenes of yelling between different people and some scenes of normal conversation. At the end of it, you see the two of them leaving, looking disheveled, and Lor says, "well, I think we just reinstituted Friday night dinners".
Preview for next week shows Rory telling her mom something over the phone that her mom doesn't like.
My fingers are numb from typing now! Unlike Logan, I can't type 90 wpm...only about 45-50.
