The Official Free Dining Watch 2007 Thread

That's how our obsession started. After the first trip we were hooked ;) . Our once in a lifetime trip has turned into an annual vacation. Planning our first trip helped keep me distracted well my DS had Kawasaki's disease. After our first trip we decided that it was the perfect vacation. A place that can accomodate all of us and we can all have fun.

Now if only free dining would come out we could make two trips this year:woohoo: .

That's how it started with us as well. When my DD was 4 we went on our first trip in June 2004 ASM. We loved it so much that we went back in Dec. 2004 POR, next in Nov. 2005 CB then May 2006 Coronado. This time it's Oct. 2007 either AK or WL. I'm leaning toward WL since I've never spend anytime at that resort. I'm such a junkie now. My husband makes fun of me because I spend everyday looking at this forum and looking at the disney website. I would love free DDP since this time we are staying in a deluxe.....sure would help with the expenses :teacher:

Wow all the husbands start it and now we can't get enough and they think we have gone off the deep end!!! Funny thing eh!!! Reese do you have 6 kids or did I miss read your little jumpy guys...lol? I also see you live in Canada. Where abouts?

Yep six jumpers here. I'm not too far from you, I'm in Brantford:). I have to say though it's okay that DH got me hooked....as long as he continues to finance it I'm good with it :lmao: .

Could you possible send me the email address that it came from so that I can add that address to my address book so it will come to my reg mailbox.

When I called the last time, Disney said I had an expired code that I never saw. The junk mail thing might explain it.

TIA.

Gretchen

Could you forward me the email as well. Thanks!!!:thumbsup2

LOL!!! I hear ya...financing is good!!! I have 6 also but only 2 are really jumpers now!! lol. Not far at all. My son goes Mac in Hamilton. We come down your way for hockey!!!! Are you originally from Brantford? If so do people ask you if you know Wayne Gretzky? LOL!!! Ok sorry have read lots of posts so.....are you going to Disney this year? If so when and where? We are going July 22-Aug 3 with the 2 youngest 7&10. We are staying at POP and I just booked with CAA and got the dining package for the 12 nights for $3818US. I am very pleased. I was not going to do dining cuz we would never eat that much food but both my kids like salads and veg and good food hubby loves it and will be much pleased that I did it!!!

Coulod someone also forward the address to me as well, I never seem to get anything except the insider. Not in the mail either.

What is your DS taking Mac? I don't know Wayne but his Dad Walter is a great guy.
We were at Pop in Jan and will hopefully be there in Sept as long as it is free dining, if not we'll be waiting until Jan. I can't believe that only two of your guys want to go. My 14 can't wait to go again and again and again. He already warned us we better count on him coming even when he's in university :rotfl: .

Sure, that makes sense. What I'm saying (not too well) is I don't understand why Disney gives "room only" codes. Don't they want people to book packages? They stand to make more $$ keeping you on their property 24/7 rather than potentially having you go to McD's for dinner.
I think you should call back and speak to someone else or maybe a supervisor. Ever since they rolled out the MYW plan in 2005. All room only discount codes were grouped with dining.

A few times the room only code were 3 letter codes (ABC) while the dining was 4 letters. (DEFG).

The last code (40%) was set up this way. One code for just room only and one code for the 40% discount plus dining.

As a matter of fact, back in 2005 a CM told me the letters they have to enter in order to add dining to a discounted room. I'll check to see if I still have that info.

Dining can't be added to AP rates, CM rates, group rates, and I believe TA rates.

:flower3: Hello everyone.....still waiting......free dining......I hear it's coming.....but when........my TA said she believes it's next week on the 12th......we'll see.....I keep checking my Disney Visa, these boards as well as others......I do feel lucky....anyway....

question....We are heading to the "World" on September 21st staying thru the 29th and plan on using the Dining Plan for the first time popcorn:: This will be our 4 trip with each time renting a car. The last time we were there was in Sept. 04 and since the crowds were so low we figured this time we would not rent a car and use the bus system. The only thing I am worried about is getting around to the restaurants. I plan on trying to eat wherever or whichever/near what park we are in. Is it easy to get around on the bus system in September when crowds are low? When we were there the last time, I have a picture of my DH, DS and DD at the monorail station at the Magic Kingdom in the first line (so we could get to ride in front) looking towards the last line in the monorail station, by themselves. Just the three of them and you can't see anyone else in the picture. Its one of my favorites besides the one of my DH and DD riding in the front by themselves on Thunder Mountain Railroad. Anyway, I figure why waste money on a rental when I am thinking the bus system will work with out the heavy crowds. What do you think? :wizard:

I belive in free dinning, I belive in free dinning, I belive in free dinning!:tinker:

We also will not have a car, this is some of my ADR's and how i'm handling the bus issue.

wed sept 19th is MK day we have adr's at 8:25 at Ohana
take the monorail to Poly then take taxi to POP

thrus sept 20th is MGM day we have adr's at Yactmans 6:05
take boat to yact club then back to mgm, then bus to POP

If you end up at a restaurant and the parks are closed you can either take a taxi back to your resort or take a bus to DTD and then catch a bus to your resort.........

Brooke:)

If you're eating at a park and the park closes before you have a chance to catch a bus, there's no need to take a taxi. WDW will not leave you stranded. Last year we waited for the Kiss Goodnight which was an hour and half past closing at MK and we still had a bus to take us back. They paired us up with another resort stop, but we still got back.

We personally love the buses. Saves us money and during low crowds, you always can find a seat.

Come on Disney, you're killing us!!! DH doesn't want to pull the kids out of school unless they have free dining and I really want to go when it's not busy. I thought it would be so cool to hide a note in an Easter egg saying "you're going to Disney in 5 months!" but at this rate I won't be able to do that. :headache:

Sure. Here it is for anybody who is interested:

Disney Destinations <disney@email.visit.disneyparks.com>

I could be mistaken, but aren't emails from Disney Destinations for travel agents only?

What is the kiss goodnight? Mentioned in post 893?

Well, I'm not a TA and I got one. The e-mail specifically mentioned the vacation planning DVD I ordered a couple of months ago. I assume that is how I got on this e-mail list. I have received similar e-mails in the past, but have always deleted them quickly after determining the dates wouldn't work for me, never really knowing what they were. Silly me.
