The Official Free Dining Watch 2007 Thread

I am fully booked WITH the DDP and I am praying that we suddenly get blessed with free dining, since my trip went from $2600 (10 day PHP passes staying @ POR) to $3841 :scared1: when I added the plan (2 adults 1 junior 1 child)...so that $1200 in my pocket would be REALLLLLY nice.

Here's some hoping and praying! :dance3: :cool1:

That's the same rumor that's been out for a few days now.

Anything TA's have been told by CM is simply based on guesses as WDTC will not tell their CM the exact details until that morning (whenever it is) when the open for business and the new package (whatever it may be) is available for sale.

In the past week I've had CM with the following type responses to Free DDP:
1)vehemently deny that it was going to happen
2)say it might happen, but they have no clue
3)say it might happen, but they doubt it
4)agree that it looks good, but nobody knows for sure yet

I'm not going again this year reglardless, but i'd say all signs are pointing to booking available on 4/12 for the dates previously mentioned.

:rotfl2: There are 7 of us in our party. All considered adults on the dining plan and it is costing us $2729.30  just for the dining plan (10 days). Come on Free Dining.....

So if the rumours of the free dining are true it will not suit us because of the dates we are travelling. We currently have an AAA rate with 15% off off the BCVs but I am wondering what is the chance of another discount? We were not lucky enough to qualify for the 40% code.

I know that last year once the free dining promo was no longer able to be booked, Disney wound up offering another discount. I can't remember the details of it, though, since we used the free dining promo. However, that doesn't necessarily mean it will be the same for this year since they already have the bouncebackers and the 40% off people. But you just never know!

I'll live in hope :)

Made most of my ADR's today. Now if Disney would just hurry up and let me know if I can afford to go I'll be all set:lmao: .

On a side note though I actually had to re-arrange times for our ADR's even the one at 180 days out at 7:30 am this morning. So I'm hoping this doesn't have an impact on if they offer free dining.

It does seem like a lot when you put it together. But it really is ony $39 a day per person. If you think about it you would spend more than that on a table service meal alone! Add on the fact that you get a counter service and a snack and it would be well over $39 a day.
We do the same thing when we are there. We are DVC members so our stay really doesn't come out of our pockets and with annual passes it feels like we are going for free. So when we have to pay for the dining plan at check in..."What you want $800 for us to eat your food for a week!"... It seems to hit home a little more. But after countless trips with the dining plan (4 times last year alone) I will not travel without it anymore. popcorn:: Well worth it!

So if the DDP is offered for 8/26-9/22/07. My family and I are arriving on 9/21/07 - 9/27/07 is the offer good for our entire stay??? I am so confused. :confused3 We couldnt change our dates for a week earlier because we are also going on a disney cruise. If any one could help me out with the answer, I sure would appreciate it.

It will be good for your enitre stay. as long as you check in by the final day, you get it for your entire reservation.

Just for fun, I printed out the menus of the places we have made our ADRs for and my Mom and I chose what we would pick if we were going now. When I added up 4 nights of dining for the 2 of us (including the gratuity, but not taxes since I didn't know the tax rate) it came to over $400. I also figured that our trip with the dining compared to the trip without it was a cost of around $303... a savings of about $100 and that doesn't even include the counter services and the snacks. Well worth it if you ask me.

However, I must state that if we didn't have the dining plan, we would most likely be eating pb&js in our room every day and not be purchasing food at all.
