Clombardi:

Welcome to the X-S Team. Your paycheck will be significantly delayed due to ongoing financial difficulties with our parent company in another galaxy.

Inter-galaxy fund transfers only travel at the speed of light. Expect your first paycheck in early 2031.

In the meantime, the X-S Employee manual has been transmitted and should be available for you to review by 2011.

Welcome to the ever-efficient X-S Team! Seize the future etc.. etc..

Warm Regards,

You know what CG? I don't even know. I've asked before if skippy was even still in the preshow and I never got an answer ( on another thread)
I remember when they had "Save Skippy" shirts and I have a large stuffie and a beanie of him from many many years ago:goodvibes .
You could always check eBay for him.
Maybe some of these Stitch ride fans could answer the question...Is Skippy still around?

I'll take over welcoming the new recruits to X-S Tech Earth Branch from here forward.

Thanks to everyone for your deep interest in X-S Tech. And Seize the Future and all that.

Pleasant Wishes,

I "experienced" this for the first and last time .. Last June 2006. As of then, Skippy was still in the pre-show.. but he no longer experienced an untimely demise.

Which was half the fun in my book. :)

I'd sure like to buy a Skippy at WDW in 10 days!!!!

Good call tho -- there is 15" Skippy for sale on E-Bay for only $5.99!

I'm proud to say I have this!

Stitch is a great character, but that attraction is awful. Not at all entertaining. Everyone I know calls it, "Stitch's Great Mistake".

First, sorry if I burst your bubbles with inside knowledge.

It is funny that you call Stitch that, b/c I know an engineer at MK and they nicknamed Alien Encounter, "The Mistake by the Lake". To be fair, they do not like the Stitch attraction either. The engineers (and many other CMs too) aparently hated AE though. The last that I heard, the alien beast from AE is just sitting backstage weathering to pieces. It aparently is in non-repairable shape and waiting for its day in the dumpster. I don't think it will ever be back to AE.

Dainan..

That's FREAKIN' awesome.. I'm so jealous I could bust. That's really great.

UKCat:

Yeah.. I know.. it ain't coming back. And to be honest, what I so loved about the AE show.. wasn't so much the show itself.. but the pre-pre-show in the waiting queue was AWESOME. Then the second pre-show with Skippy.. The STORY was just so much better... (to me).

If you read over the script for Alien Encounter (google: Alien Encounter script) .. it was darned funny in places and very well written.

Either way tho .. I'm not above trying to keep the high-efficiency and super-duper interplanetary technology from X-S Tech at the forefront of the biodiverse customer's mind.

Most importantly -- like Jay Leno's face ** - IT TERRIFIES THE VERY CHILDREN IT SEEKS TO ENTERTAIN.

Jumping on the bandwagon here... and I totally agree!

I do take issue with more than the fact that it's scary as heck for small children, but it's NOT A RIDE ! ! ! I'm sorry, to me, a ride is more than just sitting in a chair where you're strapped in, getting the feeling of Stitch jumping on your shoulders, getting burped in your face, etc..

My ADHD child, who was 10 at the time of experiencing this "ride," freaked out completely and nearly had an autistic meltdown. He did NOT like this thing. Neither did my 8yo dd nor my 6yo ds. I absolutely HATED it. DH wasn't amused, either.

Bring me the Elvis Stitch, baby.

I'm proud to be joining and representing the Anti Stitch Army!!!

Hello and welcome to the X-S Team.

We have ordered T-Shirts for all new X-S Tech employees. Due to manufacturing delays at our partner K-L Gifford Industries, expect some delays in receiving your shirt.

Once again.. Seize the Future etc etc and so on.

I hate Stitch. There was absolutely no warning that he would burp in your face, and I have an extremely weak stomach. I can get sick from smells like that, and had to spend the rest of the attraction working on not paying attention and not being sick because we were strapped in. I hate surprises like that, they are not pleasant to deal with. Because of that, I do not remember much of the rest of it. But I know that I hate it. Note: I also checked for a warning, as has become habit when trying any new ride like that.

I havent done stitch yet but did do Alien and Alien completely scared the **** out of me. So if Stitch is like Alien, well yeah it will prob scare me as well. I do think that Stitch should be done so it is geared to younger audiences along with older audiences as well. If it is completely dark like Alien was then maybe not have the stitch ride in the dark. Leave the lights on. Or at least dim the lights. One thing they could do, is 2 things. Build another stitch ride, exact replica, like they did with mission space and have it geared to younger audiences. So that way the stitch ride for younger audiences will be that cute and cuddly stitch that everyone loves to see, and the other one can be geared to anyone who doesnt mind getting scared. Or, to save money and room, they could do 2 lines. One for the scary stitch and one for the cuddly stitch. And have 2 shows in 1 room. Have 1 show for cuddly stitch, then when that one is over, let the people in to see the scary stitch, then when that one is over, go back to cuddly stitch and switch back and forth like that. Or just compeltely redo the show and do cuddly stitch altogether. Have the lights dim so where its dark but you can still see all around you. Not where you stick your hand right in front of your face and cant even see your hand. Still have it to where he escapes but do away with the special effects like glass breaking and whatever else they have. Do away with the shoulder harnesses as well. Just have simple seat belts. Between the darkness, special effects and shoulder harnesses thats what scared most people, young and old. Not to mention the shoulder harnesses arent comfy at all. Last time I rode Alien, it actually hurt my shoulders. Have him still walk around the room, but do some fun and joking kind of stuff. Like blowing bubbles or something. Another opition is to have it where hes already on Earth, met up with Lilo and they are out on adventure to find a cousin. Have him do his elvis thing or something funny he does in the movie or cartoons. So many possibilites, and disney does need to make it a lil more child friendly. It is in the MK afterall. Where the characters come to life in a way where childern and adults wanna remember them forever. And Im sorry but remembering stitch as a scary alien and not a cute and cuddly alien just doesnt cut it for the MK. If they wanna have a scary stitch, throw it in MGM, since 3/4 of the rides there are geared to adult audiences. What do you all think?

I hear you on that. 2 trips ago, I finally got a skippy stuff animal. Took m2 2 trips to get one, but I was so determined. LOL. :rotfl2: He is so cute! I dont think they would have anything left for AE. It probably got all token away when they brought in stitch. You could always check on ebay.

Skippy is still in the attraction (Part of Stitch's Great Escape) but I'm sure you can't buy him anymore.. I did see one on E-Bay

Save STITCH!!!! You are all entitled to your opinion, however i think your wrong.. I like it!!! There I said it.. I can understand where you are comin from on the scary for kids. I have been on the attraction five times now and have yet to see all these children crying or all upset.. I actually have seen some saying they thought it was funny.. Now that being said I think they could have done much MUCH more with this attraction.. There is more to stitch then trapped in a glass container and running around burping and what not.. But it is what it is and I enjoy it.. I love seeing people's comments on this so good luck on your quest.. I just hope it never goes away... Maybe a little change to it here and there but DONT TAKE STITCH!!! :stitch2: :stitch: :stitch2: :stitch: :stitch2: :stitch::banana:

Here's my solution: Let's get rid of the chili dog burps and replace them with some relaxing aromatherapy, soothing music...and turn those shoulder-breaker seats into massage chairs. Now that's an attraction I could really enjoy after a long day in the park! As for Stitch -- he can run out and grab me a cold drink. :drinking1

Calypso:

Everytime you post I like you more and more -- Excellent ideas.. all of them!

Farcus:

The BEST thing I think they could do to this attraction is NOT to scrap it entirely.. but to change the ending.

Imagine : Rather than teleporting away.. at the end.. an animatronic Stitch appears at the center tube (no longer IN a tube) dressed as Elvis. He let's all the kids know he was just messing around. And then performs a little tune of some kind (you know - like in the movie) The 'beams' that were chasing him earlier.. actually become spotlights for his performance.

The song ends.. Stitch does his take on 'Thank you.. thank you verry-much' and the lights go dark for a second.. and he's gone.. the show's over.

THAT would be good ending.. What do you think?
