DIS Dads The Official DisDads Prayer and Praise Thread

Gentlemen: I've been off the boards for some time now. Long story. I was thrilled to see all the DISDads threads, especially this one. I'll be adding my prayers to yours as I read through this thread. For now I'll ask for wisdom as I pastor a 300 member church, going into my 6th year.
Also, traveling safety as my DW and I go to WDW for a last minute trip next weekend with her sister and family.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it. My MIL is quite worried, and I cant say as I blame her. He literally just got into the SUV and drove off and no one has heard anything from him since. Its quite scary to think that someone can just disappear that fast.

He was last seen in Glen Daniels, in Raleigh County. I don't know how familiar you are with that area, but it was Ricks Supermarket.

OK...so last week my dad had some surgery on his mouth...had a hole from near one of his molars into his sinus cavity.

Well my mom just called and said they found some cancer cells.

And that's all I know right now.

Thanks for the prayers guys. Still no word out of WV, though the State Police are now involved with the search as well. He was last seen Thursday of last week.

So...he had a consult with another surgical Doctor yesterday.

They will be removing part of my dad upper jaw and replacing it with a prosthetic device...also they will put in a feeding tube as he will not be able to eat or talk for a while. As far as cancer treatments... they do not know what they will do as far as chemo or radiation until they have more info.

Other test schedule next week...

Looking into canceling my trip at the end of the month with DS17...depends on the timing...glad I checked that box for Vacation Insurance. DS17 will be very disappointed...but life happens.

Sounds like progress and will continue to pray. Life happens but as Dad's we do what needs to be done and your son will understand if you need to cancel. A life lesson to be learned there.
