Some of you may remember me talking about my Dad and his recent diagnosis of prostate cancer.
Well, to bring you up to speed on the latest, he's met with a surgeon regarding robotic removal and is scheduled to have it done the beginning of next month.
Your continued thoughts and prayers are much appreciated!![]()
Need some prayers. So much for economic recovery as 7% budget cuts are projected. While it won't be effective until July 1, we will know in May. It looks like people will lose their jobs this time around.
Hey guys
Need some thoughts and prayers for my cousin. She fell last night, and received a compound (or complex) fracture of her ankle. They took her to the ER, and they sedated her for one reason or another. The issue now, is that they cant get her to wake up. The gave her the meds late last night, and as of 1030 this morning there was no change. They have postponed the surgery, and moved her to Surgical ICU. I will let you guys know more as I do.

Ok guys here's an update on Chrissy. They flew here to Charleston WV, and has been a little responsive. I haven't heard anything else but I appreciate all the prayers!
**Update**
Just spoke with my Dad, she has come too, and was quite combative when she woke up. Her family wasn't allowed to go back in until about 20 minutes ago (9PM eastern). She did have one surgery on her ankle last night, but is in need of at least one more. Once again, thanks guys!

I know this is kind of low on the tragedy scale, but any prayers, well wishes, and/or good vibes would be appreciated none the less.
The 2nd of our 2 vehicles decided it was done functioning this morning (the first died and went to minivan heaven [or more likely the other place] over New Years). Started with no issues, but didn't want to move. Leaking red transmission fluid. Gave it a little more and was able to coax it to an unsafe 20 mph. Not good enough for the multiple highway trip it needs to take every day. Normally, I 'd just use our tax return money to buy a beater to get us around, but that's being saved for bills while DW is on unpaid maternity leave and bills that we got overwhelmed with during the last two months.
I'm hoping we can figure something out soon. I don't want DW stressing out too much while she's pregnant. I don't even know how I'm getting home from work tonight.

I realize this is small potatoes compared to what a lot of people are facing, but if you guys and gals could keep my son in your prayers, it would be greatly appreciated.
Long story short, he suffered his fourth seizure in the last year and a half Saturday night, and it was the first one that I actually witnessed. I'm still pretty shaken up by it, especially because I went check on him and he was just going into the seizure. His seizures typically happen while he's sleeping, and it scares the life out of me to think he could have one and we'd not be there to help him through it.
My wife has had to deal with all four so far, and is a very strong woman. She was very good Saturday night in getting his diastat administered and keeping me from freaking out. I've never felt more helpless in my life.
He'll see his neurologist again later this month and until then we'll up his meds to hopefully control/limit the seizures. If I never have to deal with another seizure again, I'll be eternally grateful.
