DIS Dads The Official DisDads Prayer and Praise Thread

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.

Long story short, he suffered his fourth seizure in the last year and a half Saturday night, and it was the first one that I actually witnessed...

Never small potatoes when the children are involved! Will be praying for him.

I realize this is small potatoes compared to what a lot of people are facing, but if you guys and gals could keep my son in your prayers, it would be greatly appreciated.

Long story short, he suffered his fourth seizure in the last year and a half Saturday night, and it was the first one that I actually witnessed. I'm still pretty shaken up by it, especially because I went check on him and he was just going into the seizure. His seizures typically happen while he's sleeping, and it scares the life out of me to think he could have one and we'd not be there to help him through it.

My wife has had to deal with all four so far, and is a very strong woman. She was very good Saturday night in getting his diastat administered and keeping me from freaking out. I've never felt more helpless in my life.

He'll see his neurologist again later this month and until then we'll up his meds to hopefully control/limit the seizures. If I never have to deal with another seizure again, I'll be eternally grateful.

This is no small potatoes! I would be just like you.. freaking out! Will keep him in my prayers!

Just to let y’all know I always read along here and we offer thoughts and prayers as needed. But since there are an unusually high number of you that are working through tough times all at once I thought I’d let you know that the support is there. Like most everyone else around here, I certainly wish I could do more to help each of you out, but for now just know that we are keeping you on mind.

::yes:: You won't see me reply to each individual post either, but anyone that does post something here will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. We're still without a vehicle, but have been getting by through the generosity and vehicle availablity of our friends and relatives, and a lot of walking. I'm hoping to get the van in for repair today or tomorrow, a tranny rebuild, but at least we'll be able to get around on our own again.

I just realized that you are not my brother (Katoot), you both have the same avatar, I just saw that and assumed you were him not paying attention to the name or the sig, wondering why he hadn't mentioned this before or elsewhere, hence my odd reply. Still sending well wishes your family's way. :goodvibes

I don't post here very often, but I thought I'd share this story. The 13-year-old boy in this article is my nephew's wife's brother. We've met him several times over the years at various family events and he's an amazing kid. He would spend hours playing with Madison & Evan - swimming, board games, hide and seek - anything they wanted to play. For him to make this kind of recovery has to borderline on a miracle.

Wow! God is good! :cool1: Will pray that his recovery continues to go well... especially pray for the absence of seizures.

Prayers for the boy and his family. A brain injury takes a long recovery, for patient and family.

My Father is also in need of some prayers...he went to see his cardiologist today and was admitted directly to the hospital because he had been having pain in his back and chest for "a while" and didnt want to "bother" anyone....:headache: They have him schedule for a heart cath on Friday so that they can give him time for the coumadin to get out of his system first...he had bypas surgery 13 years ago and has had stents since then also.

Praying for the DIS Dads' dads.

Gentlemen: I've been off the boards for some time now. Long story. I was thrilled to see all the DISDads threads, especially this one. I'll be adding my prayers to yours as I read through this thread. For now I'll ask for wisdom as I pastor a 300 member church, going into my 6th year.
Also, traveling safety as my DW and I go to WDW for a last minute trip next weekend with her sister and family.
