The Official DIS Oscars LIVE Watch Party Thread!!! TONITE!

Wasn't it Bob Hope that hosted several times? I just checked - 19 times!

That was another era. I wonder if he and Johnny Carson, who I loved, just showed up and only hosted? Maybe, previous Oscars producers had to do all the other work that recent hosts are now expected to do? I remember actress Phoebe Cates' uncle. Gil Cates directed and produced the Academy Awards 14 times. Google says between 1990 and 2008. Maybe during or after that the behind the scenes stuff changed hands? :scratchin

I still haven’t seen Wicked :-(

Me neither. Now I have to see the movie and the Broadway show. They have lotteries to win discount tickets to the Broadway show every night. I know various people who've won tickets.

Sean Baker also wrote The Florida Project, which is a crazy movie shot outside WDW. He definitely has a unique style.

I first saw it with a lottery ticket in Kansas City in 2008. $25. And they were amazing seats.

We have Peacock so I can finally watch it then.

I'm excited because they are going to also have bonus footage as well as a sing-a-long version. DD18 is supposed to be home around that time. There will be singing in our future! We saw it the week it came out but I could definitely watch it another 30+ times.

My oldest loves Wicked and loves to sing. This is her facebook post a few weeks ago:

Things my husband tells strangers:

“That’s my wife and one of her hobbies is listening to Wicked and crying”

I haven't either. My husband refused to go and I didn't want to go alone and then I didn't want to pay for it to watch at home.

I keep figuring I'll get around to trying for lottery tickets and then never make it to the theatre for the lotteries. :headache:

For the movie, I suspect it's one of those movies that should be seen on the big screen. That it loses something on a smaller screen. But, then I got so busy when it was showing here, I never got around to seeing it. :headache::badpc:

Make-up was a tough category tonight! Wow!
