The Official Clay Aiken Discussion Thread

I must admit Kylene, you do make a nice looking couple!

Thanks, Tess!!

From your lips to God's ears!! (Or Clay's ears, cause that would probably work out better for me!! ;) )

And yes, Kim - the man takes a pretty nice picture. Just from concert experiences, I always thought he was better looking in person, but NATURAL Clay? :faint:

I'm baaaaaack....

Ok, so two things:

First, I wrote a detailed review. But it's VERY detailed. And ridiculously long. So if you're happy with what you know (which is the fairy tale version that I'll tell my grandkids someday about how I stepped on their granddaddy's toe the first time we met....ok, is it weird that I actually just typed that?), that's great. If you want the novel, just say so.

SECONDLY:

Clay announced that he will be doing the NBC Katrina telethon tomorrow.

So tune in, watch, and do as Clay says to help these people out. :goodvibes

wwhhooooo hhhoooooooo!!!!!! Congratulations!!! Can't wait 'till the *wedding*! :cool1:

:rotfl:

The wedding will be in Disney World (unless he makes me choose between him and my fairytale wedding...in which case, I've gotta go with the prince over the Castle), so I'll let you know so that you can book your trip. ;)

I should probably let him know too.... :confused3

If you could get the wedding planned during my visit to WDW, 9/21-9/26, I could stand up with you. Needless to say, I probably wouldn't be much help to the bride, since I'd be staring at the groom the whole time.

:rotfl2: Don't worry, all would be forgiven, as long as you didn't try any funny business or make a move during the "if anyone here has reason" part of the ceremony!! I'll even let you have a dance!! :love1:

I'm thinking we'll probably go with a slightly longer engagement though. You know, on account of he still hasn't called and may not be fully aware of the plan. ;)

I'll let you know when things are finalized. :lovestruc

(Oh, and the long version will make it's way here sometime today, I just don't have it handy at work.)

Willing look forward to reading the long version.

Glad to hear that Clay is going to be on the telethon to help the victims of Katrina. What time is it to be on NBC tonight?

Nancy

I believe it's 8 pm Eastern. I'm not sure if it'll be live or recorded for other time zones, but it's 8:00 around here.

Yeeps....

Ok, apparently Clay lied last night when he said he was doing the NBC telethon. Word is that he may be making his appearance on the Larry King Live Telethon on September 3rd, between 9:00-9:30.

Obviously, that could change as well, but that's the word right now.

Sorry!!

Just wanted to let you guys know that he WAS on, and it'll be repeated again right now (11:00 EST). He'll be appearing between 12:20 and 12:30, just speaking about his work with UNICEF, no performance.

But nice to see him anyway.

EEK.....

Ok, so apparently this has become my own personal thread, so this is the last consecutive post I'm adding. Unless some big news is announced before someone replies.

I was emailing some friends about the experience last week, so instead of giving you guys the LOOOOOOOONG version (which is VERY long), I'm giving you the condensed Cliff's notes, which is basically the three things I'll remember most about the meeting. Also known as the three stupid things I did.

So here goes...cut and pasted from the email....

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I'm coming to report to you on how things went with Clay. Unfortunately, after almost two weeks of people saying, "just be yourself" I actually followed that advice.

And did being myself mean behaving with the grace, wit, and charm that I so begged for in the days leading up to the event?

Um, have you ever MET me?

Yeah, not so much in the way of grace. Wit and charm don't seem to be my allies either.

Three bulletpoints stand out in my mind about the eight seconds I had with him:

1 - I had brought a small collection of souveniers for Clay, his tour manager Mary, and his dog, Raleigh. It wasn't much, but it was very me. And I handed it to Mary, telling her, "it's for him, but there's something for you too. Something I want you to read."

And Clay looked at me with a very funny expression that said, "excuse me? I think you're here for ME."

So I said, "Don't worry, there's something for you too."

He responded, "Oh sure, now we're bringing gifts for Mary, huh?"

So STRIKE ONE. I'm bringing gifts for others. Yikes.

2 - Clay signed his normal signature, with my name, "Use your voice", Clay Aiken. Then, due to some conversation we were having that I do not now recall (I blanked out), he wrote another message underneath it, with my name a second time.

Mind you, my name was spelled CORRECTLY not six inches from it. But he almost - ALMOST - spelled it wrong. He wrote K-Y-L-E-e, then caught himself. He scribbled the second E into an N and finished it off. But I was looking over it, so he said,

"Is it right?"

Me: "Well, we can just spell it that way from now on."

Clay: "What do you mean? That's right - it's right!"

Me: "Yeah, but you had to FIX it."

Strike TWO. I called him out on spelling my name wrong. Ahhhh....I love him.

3 - (And this is possibly the most illustrative of ME.)

His security guard kinda nudged me by the elbow to go to the other side of the table to take the picture. Of course, this is right after I yelled at him, so I wasn't paying attention to where I was going, just watching his face.

Shoulda looked, cause then I felt something squish. I looked down, and so did Clay, and what do I see?

His toe. His very clean ENORMOUS feet in GINORMOUS sandals. And I had stepped on his toe. My reaction: "OHMYGOODNESSIJUSTSTEPPEDONYOURTOEI'MSOSORRY!!"

He says, "and NOW you're steppin' on my toes!"

Strike THREE. I STEPPED ON HIM.

Yeah, this is a story to share with the grandkids. *shakes head in shame*

So, anyhoo, I'm pretty sure there were no hard feelings because he said, "Nice to meet you, Kylene" after we took the picture. He was more handsome and cooler in person than I've ever seen him on tv or stage. By the way, I look goofy in the picture. I've got that excited look going on, with the huge toothy grin and the chub cheeks.

I want a do-over.

Kylene--I hope you don't mind--I just forwarded your story to a bunch of my "Clay" friends. You're story is so funny I know they'll enjoy it!

Still envious,

Kimber

Congrats on meeting him face to face Kylene!! You two look adorable!!!

I missed anything he appeared on over the weekend as we were at WDW!

Great Story.

I will miss his Christmas concert this year as he is appearing in Baltimore 12/14 the day I am returning from WDW.

Kylene--that is sooo funny. At least I'm sure he'll remember you!!!!

 Perhaps, although I'm not sure being "that girl that stepped on me" is the best title to have!!

Hope your friends enjoyed the story!

Some Clay news to report!!

Firstly, for those who missed it (and those who enjoyed it so much the first time they want to see it again!), Clay's episode of Scrubs will be reairing on NBC soon.

Reports are that it's tonight (Thursday the 8th) at 9:00, but NBC's site doesn't say that. I checked rockontv, and they said it's airing the 8th AND the 15th....so I think they don't know. I'd check it out tonight just to be safe (which really cramps my style, since I wanted to watch Reunion, but whatever...Clay comes first, even as a repeat!) :goodvibes

SECONDLY: TOUR NEWS

The official website and fan club posted a message yesterday saying that news on dates and onsales would be listed sometime in mid to late September. So as soon as that happens, someone (me or otherwise) will report it here. There are a few dates already confirmed (Atlanta, Florida, Oregon, and Vancouver, I believe), but the final list (and any tri-state area dates...darn it!) haven't been announced.

Anyway, that's the update.

PS - It makes me giddy to post just because I get to see my siggy.
