Um, Brandie? You won't survive the night.
This is Kylene's spirit talking. She didn't make it past the grinding in WDC last night, but she asked me to check in with y'all.
You seriously...won't...survive.
I've gotta leave shortly, so I don't have time to do a play by play, but I love every stupid little thing about that kid/man/guy/Clay. He looks really good in green. And orange. And a suit with a skinny tie. And even polyester.
His sarcasm and self-deprecating humor? I think we've found a winner. He'd hold his own at any family dinner in my house.
And you know what sticks with me the most?
He's got the best laugh.

Absolute. Are any of you familiar with the
Disneyland version of Fantasmic? And the segment with Peter Pan, right at the end, when he says to the croc, "do you like codfish? You DOOOOO" and then laughs??
Clay has that laugh. It's infectious.
You know, I know he's a dork, and I love him for it, but watching him tonight, I really don't know how he could've been THAT shunned in high school. I suppose a lot has to do with the physical changes he's gone through (the boy's thighs aren't as skinny as they used to be, ladies!!

), and even more to do with his confidence, but I don't get how anyone could NOT like him.
Not love him? Sure....I guess. Kids can be cruel, but he's exactly the type of person who would've had a lot of friends in my high school. But maybe I'm biased and that's just coming from a cool dork.
The only weird thing about last night??
There was NO encore. He didn't perform This is the Night, and I made my family SIT there, with the lights on and everyone leaving for it, thinking, "har har....jokes on them, he's coming BACK!"
He didn't. I figured that out when they started striking the set and there was no more piano.
He was amazing, all you lucky girls....well, love him for me. Tell him I'll gladly retire to a modest home in North Carolina and spend my life writing and raising our hypothetical children. I'm not expensive. I can be frugal. We don't need to live the high life.
I just wanna hear him laugh.
Oh, I took pictures (some darn good ones too...yikes!!) but I don't have them hosted anywhere, so that'll be a project for when I get home from the game.
Let me tell you though...these darn Yankees are definitely going to be a let down after last night.
