Kylene, so how many times are you seeing your future groom this summer? ;)

Anyone read "Ask Amy", the lady who took over for Dear Abby (or Ann, I don't remember which was which *LOL*). Well, in todays paper, a young 15yo lad who likes to sing writes in upset because he has no friends & the kids tease him about being a "geek". What does Amy say? She quotes Clay's book all over the place! Gives the lad much encouragement, and in closing, says: Aiken survived his tough childhood and has done very well in life, just as you will!

:flower:

So who saw Clay on Opera? Can you fill us in? TIA!

 Only twice, Kim. Beginning and end. As much as I'd love to follow him everywhere, I realized how freaked out I was last week (we went to Mohegan to get box office tickets...they pulled bracelet 151, and my mom was bracelet 155!! ) hearing so many Claymates talk about seeing him in 7, 8, 11 places. It freaked me out for him. And I never want to be a Claymate. I love the boy, but until there's a promise of dinner and a movie, he's gonna have to come to ME if he wants me around!! :lovestruc

Um, anyways, twice - Mohegan, and (as it stands) Atlantic City. But those AC tickets might be getting traded for Boston, since the drive would be a bit much for the middle of the week, and Boston is on the weekend.

Let me just use a  to describe my Mohegan seats though.... :lovestruc 71 days!!

I did see that, and it made me giddy. :goodvibes

:rotfl: I'm going to assume you meant Oprah, cause otherwise I must've missed one heck of a performance!!!

In the event that it IS Oprah you're referring to, Clay's role in the show was minimal, especially since the family/girls seemed much less enamored with him than with the fact that they were on Oprah. He went to their high school and told them they were getting on the bus to go to Oprah - that part was over before I even realized it was on!

The better part, however, was when he sang I Will Carry You. It was an acoustic-y arrangement, slowed down a little, and he sounded great. I'm sure there are clips of it up at All Things Clay Aiken or one of those sites. His hair is darker, and he just, in general, seems....different. More grown up, I think, not in the least awkward. Coooooler. :smooth:

All in all, his part of the show was short, but I do love that accent of his. If Oprah has any sense of what a TRUE wildest dream is, however, she will send that bus AND that boy to me so I can ride Splash Mountain with him!!

Speaking of which - Christa, I'm sorry for you that he's neglecting the West Coast. Supposedly he's planning another Christmas tour, and my biggest fear is that it doesn't come anywhere near here - so I know how I'd feel is probably how you feel now.

I STILL think we can hold out hope that he makes a Disney appearance though!! :cheer2:

Thanks, Kylene! Yes, I did mean Oprah! Much as I love his singing, I think even him singing *opera* would put me to sleep!

Congrats on your tickets! I'm still holding out for Radio City!! :cool1:

Has anyone visited the Carrie Underwood dry cleaning thread?

I'm trying hard not to get my blood boiled because I don't feel like arguing on a message board, and yet....

Kylene, yup, sure did, not recently though, so don't know if it turned "bad". ;)

I'm rather sick of all the arguing & put-downs on all/any of the idols. What I liked when I started watching with season 2, was people cheering on the "kids" who are trying to reach a dream and singing their hearts out. Now, it seems to have gotten to the point that you'd better be a *professional performer* before you even start.

I can see the whole concept/show self distructing in a couple of years.....imploding on itself.......

Back to Clay - he was in Africa for about a week. I read an article on it. He's also realised his "dream" of opening a camp for disabled kids. :teacher: :cheer2: WTG!

Has he started to record his new CD yet? Any word? I can't find a thing....

Hey Clay Aiken Fans! We are looking to add a little challege between the group threads in the next round of WPASADI!

Do you guys think you have what it takes to have one of your members come out as the ULTIMATE DISer?

Let us know what group thread you post on in your application!

i am so not creative enough for the WPASADI game...anyone else?

I sent in an entry - I wonder if I'm from the Clay Aiken group, the Swan/Dolphin group, the Survivor group, the Amazing Race group, the American Idol group.....??? ;)

Hey, I could make up my own acronym for myself...LOL

I just don't have time for WPASADI game. Busy with painting my house.

I won't be going to any of Clay's concerts this summer. I was so hoping he would return to York Fair this year, but since it is the first week in Sept he isn't touring past Sept 1 that didn't happen.

Anyone going to any of the concerts?

Anxious for the new CD.

Nancy

I signed up for WPASADI so maybe we can get a team going! :) I got my tickets for the July 31st show in Pittsburgh! That Friday night is the Kelly Clarkson concert and that Sunday is the Clay Aiken concert. BEST WEEKEND EVER!!!! :)

Cookie, maybe you could play on all the teams and try to beat yourself :rotfl2:

I'm new to this thread. What is this game you're talking about?

Welcome!

They are talking about the WPASADI game that MeanLauren host's. She was looking for players for the 2nd version.

I just noticed that my avatar was snitched. :p

Here's a heads up, guys:

Clay - COVER of TV GUIDE for next week. Article included, I'll try to find it online somewhere (except not tonight cause I'm going to drown in my own sweat if I have to sit near this dang machine much longer).

CLAY - GOOD MORNING AMERICA on July 29th!! That's NEXT Friday, but I know our history with these things....several of us are bound to forget, so I'll start the reminders now. (And I won't point fingers..... :wave2: )

Cliff notes version of what to expect - tour starts next week, his hair is darker, he looks much older :lovestruc , he'd really like a family, I want to have his babies (you read it here first!), the tour will include 100 Top 40 songs including Beatles and Elvis, Christmas tour on the way, third album pushed back to early next year, carefully choosing material, hopes to someday find love he can write a song about but hasn't felt that way yet (picture me raising my hand REALLY high.... I choose to go!!)....

I think that's it.

Oh, and in other news, I have a pair of tickets for Mohegan Sun, if anyone is interested. They're face value in section 7, row A. My cousin bought me them from the ticket club he's in before he knew my mom and I had gone to the box office when they went on sale. Any DIS takers? The show is Friday, the 29th, and it's going to be amazing.

Anyhoo, that's your Clay update for today. :teeth:

Don't forget to check out Clay's official fan club!!! clayonline.sparkart.com (no www). It's $35 for the year, you get a tshirt, picture, letter, and access to all the cool stuff. Clay keeps a weekly blog that's fun... but the reason I joined it was because it gives you the opportunity to sign up for a meet and greet! You're not guaranteed, but you'll be entered in to be eligable. Only fan club members can do it. :) It's pretty neat.

I'm going to be seeing Clay in almost a week!!! (7/31 in Pgh) so I'll let you all know how it is!! :)
