The Official Clay Aiken Discussion Thread

This rumor was started a while ago by a gossip columnist. Hard to believe since Clay only drinks Sprite!!

You are cordially invited to attend the Good Morning America Summer
Concert performance of Clay Aiken on July 2nd. Tickets are not
necessary for this show. Simply come to Bryant Park (42nd and 6th ave.)
and join us for a great morning. The show will run from 7 to 9 but be
sure to arrive early for a good spot to see Clay.

Children are allowed

oh why can't i live closer to NYC?!

i thought that clay only drank sprite...i'm sure he can, as gail so eloquently put it, "throw a diva" (snicker snicker) but i doubt that this is true...just a gut feeling...

Hooray! This just made my day - I'll be there! :)

Hmm... NYC, eh?? That's only a mere 6 hour drive on a Thursday night... work? What's that?? ;) I'm going to go in to my temp agency and tell them I need a job for the days I'm NOT seeing Clay. ;)

Made my day too!! I've even talked my DS16(alternative music listener!) into going with me!! FYI getting there from NJ is very easy if you take the ferry(NY Waterway) from Port Liberte(Weehauken) then they have free buses that will take you to 42nd and 7th. Very convenient!!

clay's gotta get me through my MRI in a couple weeks!!! when they called me earlier to tell me when my appointment was, they said i could bring a cd to listen to during the MRI...i think i'm gonna have DH make a cd that has nothing but bridge over troubled water over and over and over and over...

those of you that are close enough to see clay in NYC...have fun!! at least he's FINALLY coming here to indy on a date that i can see him!!! woo hoo!!

When Clay did "Regis & Kelly" a while back, he was given some snacks/beverages back stage. Well, he wanted coke but they only had pepsi. Well, according to the story (again, don't know if it's true), Clay threw a fit and demanded someone get him coke. Well, someone did leave and go to a local store for some coke

This sounds very unlikely. Live with Regis and Kelly is produced in the same building as the local ABC news station. In fact, I believe the two studios are adjacent to each other. The network news division is also located near by. I can't believe that the staff doesn't have access to a commissary or even a vending machine on the premise that they have to go to a store for a bottle of coke.

Bumping from Page 11!!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

rumor is out that Clay is performing at Albert Hall in London !!!

So when is Clay to perform in London? My friend has given me all the AI2 tapes and have been watching them. It has been fun watching Clay transform during the season. Clay and Kimberly grew the most during that season. Ruben did not change his style (both singing and stage prescence) other than getting rid of the 205 jerseys. Clay midway through the season commanded the stage.

Silly, since a magazine did an interview, and they did the lame question "Coke or Pepsi" and he answered "Pepsi."

I can't see Clay becoming bossy, and full of himself. Even if he requested something other than what they had to offer, I'm sure people are there only trying to throw it out of proportion.

Below is the information that has been released so far about London

"Clay will be in New York on the 17th to give out one of his Able To Serve Awards and for a Youth Service America function (I posted the press release in another thread). He will indeed be in London on the 18th to give the London Award. On the 19th, Clay will perform along with Annie Lennox at The Royal Albert Hall for a special party - "19 years of 19"."

Forgive me if I missed something but I'm just back from CA. (pics from Staples are forthcoming) and maybe missed a piece of the the thread.

Anyway lsyorke the 17th and 19th of what month??

Regarding the soda rumor I too have heard he only drinks Sprite so I find a Coke outburst unlikely.

Also whoever sugested the waterway for the July 2nd in NYC, the only issue there is how early the ferries run. I know all the ferry/buses weren't running early enough for me to get in a one of the standby lines one time I wanted them too. Sorry can't remember which show. It may have been SNL so I might have been on weekend schedule. Anyway I'm in Central Jersey and plan on driving in if anyone wants to meet me and go with me. (I'd much rather not have to do it alone)

Oops!! Those date are for April!!

If you go to this website they have the schedule for the Ferry from Port Imperial - 38th St. These are commuter ferrys and they run very early to very late. The schedule of times is on the website. We love using the ferry and then the free bus service to Rockefeller Center is easy!!

Thanks for the link to the Port Imperial schedule and I completely agree, this is my favorite way to get into the city too. However, GMA starts at 7am and I've done many other 'open' Clay events, trust me people will show up at daybreak if not try to camp overnight. If I'm reading the schedule correctly the 1st ferry isn't until 6am and then you still have bus time at the other end.

Call me the crazy one but I'm not going to count on getting there 6:15 - 6:30am and think I'll get anywhere close, that's why I plan to drive in and will be one of the ones there at daybreak hopefully.

Also do you have any more information about the time and where's of the Able to Serve Awards? Is it ticketted? Invite only?

Any info please!!!!!

Thanks for the quick reply!

Also anyone who is going to GMA we should try to wear something to identify each other. Should we stick with DIS's lime green or something to incorporate Clay into the mix??
