The Official Clay Aiken Discussion Thread

Glad everyone is enjoying Clay's concerts! Alas, it's just not in the cards for me..... With a young child, mid-week shows an hour + are just not viable.... One day......

I can't believe Christmas is less than 2 weeks away! Our company party is tomorrow and I expect our Christmas bonuses will be in our checks. They are very small compared to my last company, but I'm not complaining! Every little bit is appreaciated! My shopping is about done, except for a few odds & ends. My boxes were sent by UPS yesterday, so they will arrive in plenty of time. Cards are done. I started my cookie baking last night (lemon sugar cookies). All the women on my "list" are getting Dooney & Bourke bags. :teeth: (My Mom, MIL, 2 sisters, SIL, and my DD.)

Happy Holidays, everyone! :sunny:

Kimberle, can I please be part of your family? I'd love a D+B bag!

Sorry, I'm not a fan so I haven't read this whole thread :teeth: but for those of you that have the Bravo network, Clay's Christmas show is on tonight at 9 p.m. EST.

Cheers! :thumbsup2

I was able to catch his show on Bravo last night. (Many, those pop up ad's are ANNOYING!!!) I can't believe how much he's "matured" in 2 years. :)

*sniffle* Yes, our little Idol is all grown up!!

FYI: don't forget Clay's special appearance on Regis and Kelly this morning!!

Wow, wow, wow, last night's show was amazing!! Thanks to our own Kylene (who I never did get to meet last night), I had 7th row seats, right orchestra. They were off-center, but they were still GREAT seats!

Anyhow, poor Clay has not been feeling up to par, and it did show towards the end of the show last night. Clay was his usual rowdy self up until the last 2 songs, and then it became very evident that he was not feeling well. He did not come back out for an encore.

Aside from the ending, the show was one of the best I've seen from Clay. I definately do prefer his Christmas shows over his summer tours.

Gail, I'm so sorry that I didn't recognize you right away! I couldn't quite hear what you were saying (I'm just getting over a cold myself), so as soon as I finally realized that you said you were from the DIS, I immediately recognized you.

Hope to see everyone at next year's Christmas tour!

OMG.

Ok, so I typed up this long reply about the NJ concert and meeting Gail and not meeting Debi, and it even included pictures from the show, and THEN...

It didn't show up on the thread. So I got really mad, and me and the Dis have been in a fight all week because of it, so I've refused to post.

I can't reconstruct the post right now, but I hope to be able to this weekend. In the meantime, I just wanted to remind everyone:

Clay's on Megan Mullaly today (Friday the 22nd) and his Days of Our Lives appearance will air on TUESDAY, the 26th!!

Hope everyone has a happy holiday!!

Kylene, you have me soooo bummed! I had my VCR set to record Megan Mullaly today, and it was pre-empted for some local political something-or-other. So, I didn't get to see Clay today. :(

Aaah, well, I'm still on a high from last Saturday's show, so I shouldn't complain too loudly.

I leave for WDW on Tuesday (return on New Year's Day), so I'll 'see' you all then!

I LOVE Clay Aiken!!!! I just saw him last week and he was amazing in concert!!!! Then we waited by the stagedoor and I got to touch his hand! :faint: LOL!!!

I was really excited...though it's really my DBF who gives me butterflies!

How cool, TheDisneyGirl02! Which city did you see Clay in?

Merry Christmas to all Clay fans out there!!

I'm headed to WDW in the morning, and will be back on New Year's Day. Kylene, I want to read your full concert report when I get back! :)

I got home today, and had a GREAT time! Although I didn't see Clay, I did have a celebrity sighting in WDW. Friday night while in Jellyrolls, one of the pianomen asked Joey to come up on stage to sing a song. Turns out, it was Joey Fattone (sp.?) from 'N Sync. Very cool! He's defiantely no match for Clay, though.

Happy New Year, everyone!

Glad to see Clay fans are still around. He's getting bad press lately, kinda makes you wonder who he didn't kiss up to. I know he built a house here in Raleigh and move from CA. This will always be his home. I remembered when he would perform here at the local community college and everyone laughed that he wouldn't make it. He showed them. His cousin cuts my daughter's hair and I can tell you his grandmother isn't happy with that dark hair look. I don't own anything with Clay's name on it but I'm glad that he made the big time.

I hope everybody had a wonderful Christmas & New Years!! Brittany was so happy with all of her gifts. My Mom, MIL, SIL, 2 sisters, & Brittany all loved their Dooney & Bourke bags. I was so happy I was able to "do" that for everyone this year. Especially my SIL (my bro's wife). She works so hard at her job, keeping up with my "crazy" bro, and taking care of her 4 boys.

Back to school, back to work. Now I can start planning Brittany's 8th birthday party (early March). It's going to be a bowling party.

Oh, yes, I saw Clay of Tyra's show yesterday. He sang Mary did you Know. Since it was a holiday, I'd have to assume it was a repeat. I was watching the show and didn't expect him, so it was a nice suprise.

Happy New Year everyone!!!

I have been so out of touch with Clay news and sightings...I did see him on Days of Our Lives though!

Holidays were kind of weird for us this year. With our focus on our adoption, I just wasn't "feeling" the holiday spirit. We did have a good Christmas and New Year's...it was just different. My 16 year old step-son came to visit us for the first time out here between Christmas and New Year's though. It was quite fun! Can't wait to have him here for Summer break!!

Hope all is well with everyone!

Happy New Year, everyone! So glad I found both of you (Debi & Kylene) at the show last month.

A great big THANKS again to Kylene - if it weren't for you, my friends and I wouldn't have had the great seats we had (my other friend was sitting in the row behind Debi - we were in the 6th row on the opposite side.)

I took some pictures, but they're "meh". I can send them if anyone's interested, though. I do have about a 20-second video clip of Clay singing...um...something. LOL I think it was "Hark the Herald Angels Sing"?

Since then, I've seen Barry in Vegas, and Huey Lewis as Billy Flynn on Broadway in Chicago. As my friend pointed out, I've completed my "Fan Trifecta" in a month's time! :teeth:

Hope all is well with everyone. :wave2:

Gail...I totally thought of you the other day on my way in to work. The local station was interviewing the Naptown Roller Girls (an Indianapolis roller derby team) and one of the girls on the team is Barry Manilow's stage manager! Or something like that...they talked to her for a bit about that job and she said it was pretty cool...

I've heard that she does roller derby stuff in her "spare time". I guess that means we probably wouldn't stand much of a chance if we were to tackle her for her job, huh? ;) :teeth:

LOL...I'm guessing probably not...I think this one is her!
