Ooooo!! Great idea!!! Thanks for the suggestion - I never would have thought of that. We'll be near the airport in a couple weeks... we can stop in & get registered. Small airport, easy parking, should be a piece of cake!

Last year, they told us the same thing about needing your cc on file. However, many Disers said it wasn't necessary. I followed the DISers and walked straight out to the garage, handed them my info and drove off without ever going to the counter for Budget. I intend to do the same thing this year. Of course, the worst thing that will happen is I'll have to walk back outside through beautiful Florida weather and head back to the counter.

Can you keep us informed if the alternate airport takes your CC? We considered doing this last year and the alternate agency would NOT do it for us.

The Budget code didn't do well for me... when I put it in, it doesn't even return minivans. I think maybe the ones by me just don't have them.

I got a minivan through Alamo for 10 days in late April with an Entertainment book discount and a $25 off promo for about $350. If you do get an Entertainment book, buy it through ebates.com, and you'll get almost 20% cash back I think.

You're very welcome! The only thing as good as saving money for myself is helping other people save money! You might want to try that Budget code people are talking about in this thread, too. It didn't work for me, but it might for you.

The Budget code was $530, which I could live with, but when the Alamo rental came out to $375, I was elated!

I modified my Wendie's deal by switching the SUV to Grand Marquis (need the extra luggage room for snorkel gear and icebox) at no price difference $347 and swapping MUWZ023 coupon code for $25 off to Entertainment Book coupon code MUGZ122 for $35 since I have it anyway.

Any idea why it"s so different from your price?
It's almost the same dates too 14-22 I figured it out- It's 2 extra days.

Not sure what you are renting but on expedia.ca you can get a full size for $250.57CAN inc taxes with Dollar or $259.38 with Budget.

There is a $10 cancellation fee if you pay online (prepay) at the time of the reservation. If you select the "pay at counter" option and provide a CC, I think it was a $75 fee if you cancel less than 48 hours in advance of the pickup time.

If you do not provide cc info (I didn't), they just request that you cancel as soon as you know, but obviously, they can't charge you any cancellation fees.
