*** The Official 2014 - DLR -July Thread ***(We All Have Been There & Back Home)

Thank you. I had visited recently. I don't really ever plan on doing so in July, because it is too hot and crowded with park guests. :faint: And I am just too white for my own good! I cannot deal well with the summer sunshine and heat magnitude. :rotfl2:

You are most welcome.... even though you may not visit DLR in July, you are welcome to be a part of our group.. :thumbsup2 We learn from everyone on the Dis Board, going or not going.

Someone may answer or ask a question that sparks a conversation taking us to a different topic other than Disney.

Once again you are welcome to join our group...:goodvibes

Hello Everyone.....

Hope everyone has a super weekend...:goodvibes

Question of the day will be posted tomorrow...:yay:

Would you share with our group, a time when a Character appeared out of the clear blue, you and your family were lost in the moment and actually felt you were so close or in a Fairy Tale, Movie or Story Book?

Our experience – DD and I were walking down Main Street heading to Space Mountain when out of nowhere Alice in Wonderland popped out right in front of us.
Alice did not stop to talk to anyone or wave to anyone behind her, just quietly and quickly walking down Main Street with no escort. Even the CM’s did not draw attention to Alice as you can see in the first picture below.

DD and I looked at each other with a smile from cheek to cheek; eye’s open as big as the moon and felt as if we were the only ones with Alice. We started walking faster to keep up with her in hopes to catch up with Alice.
Once she reached the open area in front of the Castle, Alice started skipping and blowing bubbles. She was getting further and further away and that is when reality hit, we stopped at the same time with no queue, looked at each other and started to laugh.

We sat down on a bench to catch our breath. We both agreed during the 30 seconds of chasing Alice, we thought we were in a Fairy Tale and all we had to do was to catch up with Alice and something Magical was going to happen.
Thanks

Fun question and what a great memory for your family! Was this at rope drop or another time?

We don't have any similar stories, but after the opening show on Main Street at WDW, we often encounter the characters heading (quickly) down Main Street to get to their meeting stations in the park. I have a couple of closeup pictures of Mary Poppins and Bert and Alice as we walked beside them, but boy ARE THEY FAST!!! Couldn't believe how quickly they made it down the street, especially checking out some of the shoes they were wearing.

Thanks :) We are having a non tacky Disney themed wedding ;) mickey ears included!

Its a 6 hour flight opposed to 2 and half plus losing 3 hours. But you do beat me by some mileage. I enjoyed your useless fact of the day

Hello, Massachusetts neighbor! We are on the north shore.

Hope everyone doesn't mind me jacking this thread and making a comment about Disney themed weddings- have you seen the trip report by missyrose and pixeldust (Wait, Where's Your Wedding Ring?)- They were married in October and part of their honeymoon was at WDW- they shared some of the Disney details of their wedding in the trip report.

Check it out if you are so inclined

Not a problem... we love shared stories...:goodvibes

We had a similar situation to you Bob in DL Paris last year, we were stopped deciding what to do next and all of a sudden Ariel and Belle popped out of a building beside us, walked passed us and into another building. I know we have seen them in the parade and at character meals but this was just surreal, like ok I'm walking down the street and 'oh look there's Ariel and Belle' :lmao:

And wow can they walk super fast is right, I don't know how I even managed to get the camera out. Ariel was super friendly, waving and saying hi but Belle just smiled and walked on. :wave2:

We still talk about that time and how it was just like a little magical moment :goodvibes

You and Midori are lucky to have had so many years of Disney, we only had our first visit 3 years ago when my girls were 8 & 11. Even as we were travelling to Paris we were talking about how this would only be a once off to say we've done Disney and how we prefer our sun holidays and city breaks etc.

Ha ha! talk about a bug :rotfl2:
I love the total immersion of the Disney parks :goodvibes

Ha ha! My sister is just back from Disneyland Paris and she borrowed one of my big suitcases and I was already thinking sure no point in putting it back away I'll be needing it soon :lmao:

Here's hoping the next 3 months will fly by pixiedust:

I am already getting things tucked into suitcases! :goodvibes: My kiddos use duffel bags (Disney of course!) and I am having them get them out so I can start getting it all together. My suit case already has things like extra sunglasses, sunscreen (stick) the laundry sheets, my Minnie ears, etc.

Mmmmmmm....starting to plan my meals!
July 29: my birthday :). Minnie and Friends for BKFST & Fantasmic Dessert Package
July 30: Storytellers's Cafe for BRKFST
July 31: Blue Bayou for LNCH

So very hungry right now:)

2007, Disney Magic.

The cruise ships are small spaces compared to the parks, but still have plenty of characters roaming around the common decks. One day my wife and I were enjoying calm seas while lounging on the promenade. We were talking about how nice it was to be "away" from everything. Then, out of nowhere, Goofy walks by. He doesn't stop, doesn't wave. It felt so candid and so magical at the same time.
