Being a vet at WDW this was a huge change for us . First off let me just say that the 3 hour time difference between NYC and LA killed us . After a long flight and an even longer battle with the rent a car place ( LONG STORY ) we were in our room at about 3 and pool side by 3:30 -4 PM .. Now I loved the pool area but with such a large hotel get more chairs !!!
We had 5 days in DL / CA with that being said we did everything we wanted and more we even waited to see Anna & Elsa .. Now we are all pretty much adults in our group and was told 2and 1/2 -3 hours for A&E now I am not going to get a FP for A&E in WDW in Sept so I waited it out . I just want to say this story did not happen to me but I was never so dissapointed in a Disney Cast member as I was this past Thursday . Granted it was crowded it was the 59th anniversary day and we did not get on line till 8:30 AM A nice family was infront of us they were from Peru and had two little kids a nice family from Cali was behind us . At about 3 and 1/2 hours now the mom from peru had to change one child and left the line ( which was allowed because not everyone had to wait only one person ) now the dad is there with a little one no older then 4 who has fallen asleep in his arms . Granted he did try to get the stroller on line which was a no no but the cast member was rude , nasty and yelled at him like it was murder he was commiting !! it was very dissapointing and this was not the first time we had seen this type of behavior from cast members . Now he must leave the line and get the stroller to the Parking area so we as nice people say we will hold his spot as his wife has not yet returned . WEll this CM yelled at went off that we were not family and could not hold his spot on and on .. Listen I get the rules but we are 3 and 1/2 hours into a line where the sun is beating down on us it is hot there are kids crying and the line moves like turtles . I get everyone wants to see A&E but move the line along there is no need for a family to be in there for 15-20 min at a time !! You tell people 2and 1/2 -3 hours and it is now well over 3 going on 4 . We did save the mans spot and not one person on line complained about it . We as well as the family that was yelled at did see the person in charge of the A&E line and spoke to him about the CM in question . He was very sorry but I told him NEVER have I seen CM act the way they do in DL . I visit WDW often and NEVER have I seen or heard CM act the way they do in DL . Parade time , lines and just speaking to some CM not all was like we were just annoying to them and after spending that amount of $$$$ to go there I was just not impressed ! I would go back to DL but not really sure I would spend as much time there as I will going to see more sights . We did see the Hollywood sign , went to Magic Mountain , went to Newport beach and did things we wanted but spent alot of time in DL /CA where you really see the people who work for Disney the most . DL was also a very season pass holder type of park where many are locals and not just tourist and WDW is all tourist most of the time and I think that is where the service question comes into play ( IMHO ) . The people in DL are not as consious of the tourist as the people in WDW .
