We are going to Hollywood and decided to go back to the beach.

The crowds are not like WDW and the wait times are averaging less than 30 minutes before 1 PM and then it goes up to 60 to 100 on the bigger rides in the afternoon so if you miss rope drop, it's ok to get to the parks 15 to 20 minutes after the parks open.

All of the rides are so close to each other and if you have to walk from one side of the park to the other, it's not very far.. I would say it's half the walk as WDW.

We have not experienced the parks at night because we have been able to ride all of the rides and even eat and shop by 6:00 - 7:00 PM

There is an app for DLR..unlike the new My Disney Experience. It's like the old one just showing the ride wait times.

If you like home-cooking, you'll need to try and eat at Flo's Café in Carsland.

The weather is great here 15 to 20 degrees cooler than WDW, over casted in the mornings up until 10:30 to 11:00 AM (Don't know if it is pollution from LA or clouds from the Pacific Ocean). I have seen people walk around DTD and the Parks with light jackets and hoodie's for the evening.. Can you believe light jackets and hoodies in Mid - July????? WOW

Thanks and have a Magical Day.

Bob

We're here too! Third day in the parks (2nd full day) and having a great time! We've had very little time in the room so haven't been able to start a trip report, but definitely will do one after the trip. Hojos is great, btw. Kids love the Castaway Cove water play area, and it's a quick walk from hojos to the park. Did F! Dessert package last night. The great seats were worth it so the kids could see-we were in third row, where they could kneel on seats or stand. Actual desserts were underwhelming, but we didn't care. What a great show when u can see it all!

Loving your trip report Bob! Thanks for sharing :goodvibes

What app are you using?

I left my business cell phone that has the Dis - App at home. I did not want everyone from work to call, text and email me so I have my Dis-Cell Phone only for the Dis-Board people to contact me.

I just wait until I get back to the hotel and post Pic's and Narrate on my lap top.

Thanks for following the report..:thumbsup2

Hello - We'll be at DCA tomorrow and DLP on Friday. Hope to catch up to you.

Glad to hear all of our July folks are having fun either planning or visiting. We arrive Friday and are pumped. We've been in California touring around for over a week. We 'be had so many great adventures so far. We did the VIP Experience at Universal and it was awesome. Highly recommend that. We stayed in Santa Monica for 4 days and loved it there. We did a 2 hour tour of stars homes which was fun. We are at the St Regis in dana point right now and don't want to leave. It's so beautiful. We go to huntington tomorrow and our happiest place on Friday. Wonderful trip so far and we haven't even got to the best part. Can't wait. Hope everyone continues to make great disney memories!

I'm with ya, Keels! Just today I found a hidden Mickey at a Holiday Inn in Atlanta--and then had to pause when I saw a row of plush Minnie and Mickey's at a truck stop in Alabama! I told the DW I might be going over the edge into the Disney deep end!

8 days!!! Woot! Woot!

I need you guys to send some positive Disney magic my way. We leave a week from today and I've been nursing a cold since Saturday which continues to get worse. I kept willing myself not be sick, but I'm home sick from work today. And my Dad seems to be coming down with it now too. Going to the doc tomorrow so hopefully will be feeling better soon because I have WAY too much to do still. I just hope all 4 kids and my mom stay well at this point!! Ugh, I don't have time for this.
