*** The Official 2014 - DLR -July Thread ***(We All Have Been There & Back Home)

We leave next Sunday the 20th and I'm probably going to start laundry and packing some items this weekend! Yippee!

We don't leave for 2 more weeks and I started packing weeks ago Actually have just about everything packed, hoping to get me one or two more maxi dresses and the kids another pair or two of shorts and we will be ready

I have tentative outfits picked out, but my latest StitchFix gets here on the 16th and I specifically requested they send pieces that would work for this trip - so here's hoping I don't have any shopping to do!

There are some super-cute themed outfit ideas on Pinterest that look like Minnie, Princesses, etc. styled from every day clothes - I think I may go with things like that for my two park days ... since I won't have DH around to think I'm being ridiculous!

Woohoo. We leave this morning. Still a bit of packing to do (we're driving.) Finially finished sewing my DDs' top. I showed them DD5's Ariel top, then DD9 wistfully said she'd like something similar, too. Oops! Had to make a quick visit to the store on Thursday to buy the fabric. Was doing a little sewing at work yesterday at lunch. Anyhow, I finished it last night. (It was a really simple smocked top - pretty easy peasy.)

Can't wait - we'll be in the parks tomorrow. It's going to be hot these few days!

One week from right now we will have just landed at LAX! Then we will be headed to the Best Western Park Place Inn right across from Disneyland! We are sooooo excited!

To All - We have checked in and getting ready to go to DTD to meet up with the Diser's at the Monorail Station between Rain Forrest Café & Pin Trading stand and then going to dinner at Storytellers at 7:15pm..


We feel so good being at Disney. We had a super trip and enjoyed seeing the west side of the country..

Is anyone a little concerned about the crowds at the end of the week due to the anniversary? I know a lot of people come just for that. The crowds seem to have been pretty manageable so far this month but I have a feeling it will really pick up this week due to the anniversary. I can still change the days I'm going to the parks. I have a 4 day park hopper. Still wondering what the best days would be to go? I think it's best to avoid the 17th, it's going to be crazy!

I don't anticipate any increase in crowds due to the anniversary. I'll be there Tuesday through Friday, and they should just be normal summer days. The anniversary will be special to people like me, but I don't expect that to create any larger crowds than normal. Next year will be a totally different story.

We arrived home yesterday and we had a great time. It was our first trip to DL. The crowds weren't near as bad as I had expected for July. Thanks to this board for all the great tips! Enjoy your trip, everyone!
