You do not need a reservation to book ADR's, simply book those each morning they open up @ 180 days. If your happy paying full price for your room/package then book what you want, but if your planning on adding a discount to your package then you may just be shooting yourself in the foot.
Anyone remember what the dates were for FD last October? Mousesavers gives the block of dates but not exact Dates. 2nd, do you need just one ticket for the room or everyone in the party need a ticket. We are getting tickets through run disney but will add on a single ticket to get FD if we need to.
Last year's covered October FD dates were Oct 1&2, and 18-31. You must stay a minimum of 3 nights, and every person age 3 and up must purchase a minimum TWO day base ticket.
I just want to make sure I'm understanding this correctly.
If I book my ADR's (no room yet) and Disney later offers FD for that timeframe, then my ADR ressies will not be affected when I eventually book my room at rack rate? Did that make sense?
Is it true that FD hasn't been available for AoA LM rooms in the past? If it hasn't been offered in the past, does that suggest that we should choose another resort if we want FD? I'm worried that if we choose AoA and the FD offers are announcedgoodvibes), we would have a hard time switching to another resort. What do you think? FD is definitely worth switching to us. Also if we think we would prefer the DDP instead of the QSP, does that mean that we should choose a moderate instead of a value? It looks like the cost of upgrading the dining plan is about the same as the cost of switching to a moderate. I'm not sure yet if it's worth it but if it is worth it, is it better to already be in a moderate instead of trying to switch to a moderate? How quickly do things fill up once the FD is announced?

There's a limited number of rooms offered for free dining, having an existing reservation won't change your chance of getting one.!
If you book at midnight does that mean midnight in EST? How much warning do you have that the special is coming? What sites should I be monitoring (besides here) to find out if FD is coming up?

Also, Disney Visa holders can book before non-visa holders. For most offers. We did this last year for FD for September.
Is it worth it to apply for a Disney Visa? Do you have to book your trip on the Disney Visa? About ten years ago, I pared down my credit cards and now only have cards with *real* advantages and book everything, except trips to Target, on my Southwest Visa. The Southwest Visa rewards cover about one trip a year for our family. So I hate to get another card unless there is a very good reason for it.
As far as I know, you have to at least put part of it on the visa. Other benefits we've used included a gift card after 1st use, member only pins (for pin trading), and a free photo of us with Mickey (at a special members only place at Epcot). We don't carry a balance on the card. Not sure if it's worth getting just for the above.
