We took the plunge and joined up! We're using DVC financing -- paid all of the down pmt and signed and fedexed the papers back last Friday. What's the next step? Will they be contacting me within the next few days? If not, how long do I wait to get back in touch with them to be sure everything's in order?

Can we make a ressie prior to our closing date if our stay is after that date?

Eventually you should get two letters--one a generic "thank you" for joining and another specifically indicating that your financing has been approved. It may take a month for both to arrive. If you have concerns, just call your Guide in a week or so and ask him/her to verify your status.

Can we make a ressie prior to our closing date if our stay is after that date?

You can call tomorrow and make a reservation. Your temporary ID card should have been included with your package.

If anything happens to derail the purchase (extremely unlikely), DVC simply cancels your reservation. No harm, no foul.

We received a letter for accepted financing about 7 days after we mailed back our documents. I think that was really fast we were told it may take 2 weeks.

I actually got a phone call from the underwriters saying we had been approved. He verified our member ID number and made sure I had Member Services phone number.

We would make ressies anytime after that (you simply have to be "in" the system)
