Back to School Night was Tuesday for me. 1/2 hour for Devin, and 1/2 hour for Brendan, except they switched us from class to class for Brendan. And of course, they're in two separate wings of the school...

Brendan was very pleased with himself - he's in the Chorus! Now, of course Devin is wandering around saying "What can I do???" *sighhhh*

I'm hoping to get to sleep before midnight, so I'll just say nighty-night.

Congrats to my little (?) bud, Brendan.....He must get his talent from me! Well---what are you laffing at??? I was in the chorus in high school.

Busy day at work today. I would say I'm looking forward to a restful week-end at home, but, instead, I see painting...carpet cleaning (not just any ole carpet--the stairway!).....and new floor covering (vinyl tile) installing.

I am doing a fall clean-up thing here (since I'm still waiting to do the spring cleaning thing...). I de-cluttered
a few weeks ago, so, now I am cleaning and re-de-cluttering.

The outside looks great, though, with the new mums planted and the door re-painted and the new welcome mat, and all that good stuff.

Hope the entry hall and stairway look as good...

So....another phone call today. None yesterday, though. Just an update, cause I know you were wondering.

Singing is good. I love to sing...just wish I could sing well! But hey, Avery just stops whatever he's doing and grins when grammie sings IASW....that's good enough for me

Home from a scoreless TIE after 2 10 minute OT periods at DD's game. She was GREATstopping 2 PENALTY kicks......well, the first one the girl shot wide but the second she stared her down and made the save WOOOO-HOOOOOOO! (and varsity LOST 1-0 bwahahahahaha ) Her team played REALLY well and dominated but couldn't put it in the net....I was SO relieved that she didn't get scored on on a PK ! The other goalie was superb, great "vertical lift" on her jumps...she'd just leap up and sort of hang there in the air and catch the ball on the high shots...amazing. Wish they could have won but SO pleased DD stopped the PKs as well as the rest and didn't lose on a "garbage goal" or something!

Had a margarita tonite...how's my typing????????

So. did everyone go away for the weekend and not tell me? Do I have to do ALL the posting and laundry and housecleaning around HERE too????????

DD's name is in the paper this morning "CHS Girl's JV soccer tied LHS 0-0 in double overtime. Posting the shutout and surviving two penalty kicks was (DD)". And the varsity coach does not even report their score in to the paper when they lose! bwahaha

Very quiet around here today.

We have been working and then working some more....
painting, new flooring (which looks great, even if I do say so myself...), washing walls in the stairwell (no easy feat) and cleaning the carpet on said stairs, as well as the upstairs hall...

Tomorrow, I have to finish painting the upstairs hall and then putting everything back where it belongs. Oh, yeah...guess I need to clean the rest of the house, too.

And Ann---I'll do my laundry tomorrow (today???). Thanks for the offer though.

HI everyone-yesterday was the busy errands and chores day. I was sneezing all day and suffed up all night. Was hoping it was jsut something "in the air" and not a cold...because today we are watching football and playing with grandbabies. And I can't hold them or get close enough to breath on them if I have a cold. This morning I am still a little stuffy...I feel OK...maybe it is just an allergy to something.

Its probably allergies Ann. I'm the same way....its this time of year, happens EVERY YEAR I have hay fever and this is the worst. It will stay like this now until we get a frost.

Playing with grandbabies sounds like fun BUT forget the football part.
I noticed on another thread Ann that John's birthday is 2 days after mine and yours is 7 days after Jerrys

Sue...don't work too hard. Reading about all you're doing is making me feel guilty I'd better go clean sumpin

Yesterday was "get new glasses for Devin" day...and then we went to Seaside and hung out with PandyPaws and family - we had fun!

Hello! Happy Sunday!
I need to do some of that cleaning too but instead am "resting and relaxing" per doctor's orders. I have a "really bad" ( to quote said Dr.) virus and was told to rest and take anti-inflammatory meds for a couple of days so that is what I shall do. (Sounds more appealing than cleaning anyway).

Debbie- I'm not a football fan, but I'm an excellent fair-weather Patriots fan . Besides, that Tom Brady is CUTE. 25, but cute We are teaching Avery to raise his arms and shout "touchdown!" . He just looks at us like we are nuts, but at least he's not scared, like he was last year during playoffs....he just gets a bewildered look when Mady jumps and cries becasue the shouting scares her. LOL I wasn't stuffy today, maybe the rain washed whatever it was making me sneeze out of the air.

So, it's nearly drought conditions up here, and it finally starts raining on the second of 2 big NASCAR weekends (the first one is in July) Course I'm about as big a race fan as I am a football fan hehehe Good excuse to sit in front of TV with family and junk food.
