The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

Are one of you guys Dania?

I got a friend request on Facebook the said "The DIS" but I didn't recognize the name and kept forgetting to ask and now the request has poofed off my list.

I didn't even really look at teh strollers to be honest. But to put in a plug for the Maclarens, I got one for my older DS about 4 years ago, just before our first WDW trip & we used it for years. It's still in the garage. Held up to a lot of abuse it was our primary stroller from the time we got it as well as a bunch of WDW trips. I'm contemplating a Maclaren twin even though I have a BJ City Classic Double. The BJ just seems to big & the Macs fold so small, but my DH would kill me.

If you are in no hurry I know you can score lightly used Maclarens on craigslist, you just need to be patient, and picky. When I got mine it was at BRU, but was a return w/ no box -- so deeply discounted. Don't forget to check your stores clearance area.

I check CL, but I've never seen one for my area. Lots of WANTED posts though.
I thought I read that March was a new model month...where they clearance the old ones in favor of new. I just have such a hard time getting out shopping right now. Our schedules are so tight, we barely get to grocery shop.
So if anyone sees one... I think I need the Quest? I want the one that reclines...not that she'll actually sleep in there. Maybe I should just go with the Volo.

I really need to get us all to BRU so we can fold them up and test it out.

We have a Maclaren Volo, so far out of all the baby purchases I have made I would say it's one of the best. I have gotten several strollers prior and didn't like them as much. I bought it right before our Disney trip in 07 when DS5 was almost 3. It folds up small, has a shoulder strap, light weight and this one came with a rain cover. Only thing I don't like is it doesn't recline so Lilliana hasn't spent much time in it yet. 3 Disney trips later it's still holding up great. :cool1: DS5 still fits in it and it's easy to push - he's 47 lbs and 44 inches.

ETA: It's really easy to fold with one hand (and a foot)

I have never used glass bottles either, I like Dr. Brown's and I know those come in glass.

lol I'm realizing that it is by far the most perfect park touring stroller.

Sounds like it's big as a truck folded up. lol

I was carried away by the "disney" label...the print isn't even all that Disneyfied.

Ok, that is a tad easier to take. ;)

We were going to get a new stroller for DS before our second was born and then I thought maybe we should just wait to get a double. Now that we have the Aria twin (from CL as well) I'd love to get a brand new one. They are much easier to steer but I think I could make do with what we have and save the $300.

I need to start looking into strollers... that is the entire point of my friend and I journeying to the consignment sales in Columbus. Well, for me. I want a double stroller.

I call our BRU once a week looking for strollers on clearance...they have no problem checking for me (probably because the clearanced items are right by the main phone...) so maybe just start calling them. :teeth: Can't hurt!

45 lbs is pretty hefty!! Not what I'd consider a lleightweight stroller by any means.

Yeah it is! My double stroller weighs 42lbs.. and that thing is HEAVY!! The baby jogger city mini gets great reviews. Lots of women on my twin boards have them.

Adi- Glad you are giving them a shot. I hope they work as well for her as they do for Jake. He no longer has any painful gas! He still has gas, the probiotic just helps him clear it from the gut more efficiently! Let me know how they work for her!

I'm hoping - either way it is good for her, so I'll be pleased :)

Did they have any good deals on strollers? i need to pick up a lighter umbrella stroller for WDW. I know everyone loves their Maclaren's but they are so expensive for what they are. KWIM?

We got this one a couple weeks back: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3458932

We used a couple babies r us coupons, 20% off any item, and %15 off of any stroller, and I think something else - I know we ended up getting it for almost $100 less than the list price. It folds down teeny tiny, doesn't weigh much, and it turns/steers easily - best part is that it is short so you can manuever around tight spaces. We call it our Disney stroller, and every time we take her out on a walk in it we talk about how great it will be for Disney, LOL. We have our regular one (from the Graco travel system) but that stays in the car and we use it for our regular outings.

check out the Maclaren Twin strollers...ours is still rolling after 5 year of heavy use...we have used it birth to age 6 1/2 successfully. It is so light that it weighs less, and takes up less room in my car than the single. it is side by side and fits thru doors and is great for disney or shopping b/c the wheels turn on a dime and you can really maneuver it. cons are the price, and the fact that once they are older its not the best for a nap. also, no tray but we never used those anyway so it wasnt a big deal, we added aftermarket cup holders.
hope you are all doing well... i have been lurking.
tessa just recovered from rsv and we are helping my dad rehab from a quadruple bypass so things have been busy!

Alright, I just bought a stroller on ebay! I've not done any research on these things, just totally took the word of mouth from you all and got a Maclaren. :rotfl:
Kelli, which one do you have??

I got a new 2010 Maclaren Twin Triumph. It said it was used as a floor model. It was $120... which I'm thinking is pretty good. Plus, free shipping.

I was really wanting to check out the consignment sales for a stroller but it sounds like this is as good of a deal as I might have hoped to find there... and it's not a chance! So hopefully I like it when it gets here. :)

I'm reusing my old Graco Metrolite with the baby, since I won't need a double (Older son is 4.5, too big for a stroller, methinks).. but I am giddy about the new Diaper bag I'm getting! Check it out:

http://www.diaperbags.com/backpack-diaper-bags/floral/jujubepurplepaisleypackabe.cfm

And what is it about the 4am feeding that makes me not go back to sleep immediately after it? Baby goes back to sleep, but I'm laying there making lists in my head and thinking about what to do in just a few hours. And then , I drift off....and the baby is awake again. *sigh*

That diaper bag is really neat!! I love the funky patterns like that!!

patsy, i think that is a total score! we bought ours in 2004 while on a trip to chicago - no big baby stores around here and i think we paid 300+!!! We have the twin traveler, and like i said, i love love love it. good for you!!!!

Although reading about new strollers *really* makes me want one that rides a lot smoother than the Graco....

Guess I'll check out Craigslist... ;)
