The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

What constitutes a "high end store"? We have nothing here. Consignment shops (Once Upon a Child) and a TRU with a very small selection. I really want to check out buy, buy, baby when I go to Columbus in a few weeks!

Will she ship it? Might be worth asking her!

:rotfl: to the first part.
Man! You've had your fair share of vomit and sickness, haven't you?? :scared1:

Yes, I have! Ds12 stays sick, and this is the child I breastfed for 18mos!

Oh my goodness, I am being sucked into the world of Maclaren stroller accessories!!

I am going to make myself wait and check out the consignment sales. I'm getting so excited to go!!

I found a lady on craigslist selling a twin techno for $200. SHe is throwing in all the accessories too... Its a dang good deal, but she is two hours away from me! I dont know..

Road Trip!!!

I have no idea! :lmao: Just that they carry mosre expensive stuff than BRU and Walmart? lol
I keep a basket of books in the bedroom and in the living room. Katie loves them. Target had a ton of board books in their dollar section a few weeks ago, and I bought one of each!

I think we have every single Seasame Street board book that Target has had! LOVE them!

I wish I could make it down to C-bus! Then we could meet! That would be crazy! :thumbsup2

I think the "high end" store we have would be Buy Buy Baby. It carries a TON of stuff that is not at BRU and some brands I haven't ever heard of. I went there today to look around (you can use your BB&B coupons there too don't forget!) and they had 2 floor model Aria twin 60/40 for $219. We tried out a $800 double jogger just for fun. It was nice but very bulky and heavy.

Our biggest resale in the area is tomorrow. I can't wait! I went to a small sale last weekend and this lady behind me had the cutest folding cart. She said she got it at TJMaxx last year. I thought for sure I would never be able to find one but they had just gotten them in that morning. I got a cute brown and blue one for $19!

So, thought DS10 was over his sickness. Ate some toast and water this morning. It stayed down. He was still dragging, though. Took a nap. Felt better when he woke up. Took a shower. Ate a waffle and some applesauce. Fifteen minutes later it ended up all over the toilet and wall. Lovely. And, E has taken two 20-minute naps today. That's it! And he has been up since 6. Right now I have him sitting in his bouncy seat looking out the patio door. For some reason, he is entertained by that, so I am at least getting a few things done around the house.

How far is Columbus for you?

*eta*
What about Canton? That would be pretty close, wouldn't it?? My parents are constantly trying to convince me to go to Canton to hit the outlets and Amish country. They love to randomly disappear there for a weekend so I hear tons of stuff about Canton! :rotfl:

I've only ever been to Cleveland once that I can remember, when I flew into CLE from Orlando with my brother b/c he had a job interview up there. I don't even know where in Cleveland we went! I just remember thinking that the airport was in the middle of nowhere.
I don't remember how far it was but I'm thinking it's only about 3 hours from here. Not much further than Columbus is for me.

Hope your older DS gets better soon and that E lets you get some rest tonight!

Ahh!! They put one of those in an area of Columbus that I am familiar with, I've just never gone in. I may have to now!

Hopefully E doesn't get it, too.

Baby Poop Talk

I would like some imput on my babies poop. He is now 3 weeks 2 days old and been on full formula no breastmilk for 5 days now. The last three mornings he has had a large green poop diaper. The rest of the day it is normal colored but a little amount of poop. Today he had the green morning poop but his second poop was more green then the normal yellowly peanut butter looking. Other then the poop thing he is acting fine. DH doesn't seem concerned as he took care of his younger brother and said he remembers him havig these diapers. Juust looking for your thoughts. :goodvibes

:scared1: OH MY GOD! :scared1:

I just fell down a few stairs with the baby. He seems ok. Cried a bit but is awake/alert and acting fine, sucking on passy. My arm I was holding him in hit the stair before his head bumped it. Bit scared cause his head went back a bit quick but his neck and head seems ok. DH isn't worried but I'm frazzled. :guilty: DH said that some of his brothers where dropped more then others meaning he was dropped a flight of stairs when he was young by his older sister.

DD had the yellow seedy poop when breastfed, once we switched to formula it changed. Sounds normal. :goodvibes

I hope everything is ok!

I'm not happy right now! I'm sick now-have been sick all day. Vomiting, chills, aches, feel like crap. I told dh to go ahead and go hunting, that we'd be fine. He was gone most of the day, but the older kids (who are better) have helped so much. I got very sick around 2, and starting vomiting uncontrollably. I texted dh to come home, and he did for a little while. He told me to take ds12's phenergan for the vomiting. I told him no, I was bfing, etc. He laughed at me, told me to do it, and said she had plenty of milk in the fridge, which she does. I told him if I vomited again I would, he left. Whe I got sick again, I caved and took the meds, and texted him again to come home. He did, but now is mad that he has baby duty! She won't take the bottle, is screaming, but what am I supposed to do????? Now he wants me to nurse her, but I'm scared to! Phenergan is listed as class C, which means not enough research has been done!

:worship: Thank GOD :worship:

He is still doing ok this morning. Scared me to death.
My mom fell down stairs with me when I was a baby. Seems I'm following in her footsteps.

I'm glad he is ok! We don't have stairs, but a friend of mine did the same thing.

I researched a long time last night, and found some more info on phenergan. Most places said it was ok in moderation, would probably make her sleepy. Ds12 finally got her to sleep , but when she woke up about an hour later I went ahead and nursed her. She is awake and nursing right now, so no harm done. Dh has zero patience. And I feel better this morning, thank goodness!

December, glad you're feeling better. I know exactly how you feel about meds and nursing. Like quitting for a few days is a viable option! I always have to ask my doctor at least a handful of times if the meds are safe to take while nursing. Then I look it up myself, then ask the pharmacist. I also call the baby nurse at or ped's office and see what they think or if they can give me a better option. I've been told if they prescribe it to kids then it's likely ok to take since only a small amout gets processed with the milk. Glad Katie seems fine too! :goodvibes

You guys have had a rough weekend!
Hope everyone is feeling better soon about everything.

We went to Sams Club yesterday to wander around. Ended up running into my parents there.. Lucas got to try soooo many samples! :rotfl: He wasn't wild about some of it. He got basil pasta, mashed potatoes, pot roast, blueberries, corned beef and swiss cheese. Very small amounts but he was loving trying all the different foods! He started to figure out that if someone gave us a little cup it meant food and got a little irritated if it was something we wouldn't let him try.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday!!!

I promise..promise to go back and read and check up on everyone in a little bit. I just needed to share the website I found yesterday on cj's disease.

mastokids dot org they have a video on there that they have on youtube.

I was asked for the first time yesterday "does CJ have chicken pox?" then another person said, ya it looks like he had chicken pox. I explained what he has. He has a few new spots since he was there last (4 weeks ago..the hairdresser) Unfortunately for CJ he's in the minority and his spots are still coming 6+ months after his first spot. I guess this is rare to have them keep going after a couple months...but his are. So he has a rare part of the rare disease...:guilty:

He started walking this week. He was doing a side step, but now has it down going forward. He'll do 10-15 steps then fall on his butt and claps.

I can't believe he is turning 1 in a month! which also means we leave for disney in a month.

off to put him to bed, I'll read up and post soon....:cloud9:

Awww, Stacy. Do the spots still seem to not be bugging him?

Sarah!
Someone thinks that the people I ordered from on EBay ARE the Maclaren people clearing out inventory for the new line. Apparently, the people are in the same city in CT so it could really be them I guess.
Anyway, my point... I know you were looking at a few options but I thought i'd post the store I bought from so you can keep an eye on it:
http://stores.ebay.com/Baby-Products-Store__W0QQ_sidZ657501637QQ_trksidZp4634Q2ec0Q2em14?_pgn=2

UPS tracking says I'll get mine Tuesday so I'll let you know if it seems like it's coming straight from Maclaren!

Birthday Party Questions...

I realize that he's not going to have a CLUE that this is his party and it's not really a big deal at all, except it kinda is. My mom and I are going to try to use this party to reconnect with family we drifted from when my grandparents died (my uncle, his kids, etc.)..

So anyway.. this is my spring break, so I was planning on going ahead and buying the invitations so I could utilize my time (and lack of school work!) to get the things written and addressed this week. Not mailing them out for awhile, though. (The semester goes until May, then we're going on vacation, so I'd like to get stuff done before things get too crazy for me!)

Most of my cousins have kids- all different ages. Should I put on there for them to RSVP so I can get together goodie bags for their kids? Or just skip the goodie bags? I know traditionally bday parties have them but I'm sorta lost on what to do, since Lucas won't even know what is going on. :rotfl:

I wouldn't mind doing it.. small stuff, probably some small toys they can use in the pool that day and some candy but I didn't know if it would be weird to put it on the invitation.

I know several of you have older kids so thought you might be able to offer some direction! TIA!!
