The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

My ring sling never seems to stay put. Maybe I'm doing something wrong! I follow the directions but both of my boys just seem irritated. :(

I haven't used it since DS5 was 2, I used it for the hip carry. He liked being held, and still doeas but at 47 lbs he's a little heavy. :rotfl: I do remember always have to readjusting it. Now I have an ergo, it's well worst the money. I just wish I knew about it with ds5.

Happy Birthday!!!

I have an Ergo too, LOVE it! Got it off Craigslist.

No problem about the coupons, combining them you get $4.50 off a pack of Huggies at Target! :)

I use Aveeno lotion on my baby for her excema and it works pretty good.

I'm not sure how tall your DH is but my is 5'10" and has no problem pushing the Maclaren but the cheap umbrella's are really short. Even for me and I am 5':rotfl:

I LOVE my Mac Quest and it fits both of us, I'm 5'3 and DH is 6'4. :) Well worth the money, plus they have good resale value when you're done.

Happy Sunday. I turned 30 this weekend and had get togethers with both of my families.

I have such thoughtful family members. My DMIL brought me back a LeSportsac Hawaiian print bag exclusive to Hawaii and a PM that is a little hula girl. They were in HI for a wedding. My DSILs and families got me a new pair of Coach sunglasses. My sisters got me some new kitchen gadgets and my dad got me a digital photo frame. I've been admiring his since Christmas. I can't wait to load it with pics of the boys!

Congrats Melissa! Welcome back. One of each will be exciting. I bet Landon will be a busy big brother. It's definately crazy for the first few months. Mine are 19 months apart and I think the hardest part to adjust to was making time for both. They have so much fun together now. A good schedule is what made it easier for me.

Can't wait to find out what you'll be having, Patsy. Two boys is awesome so far because they have shared 2 seasons in clothes but they are totally different as far as sizing and age. My DS1 was smaller than my LO is now by quite a bit. He's wearing his 12/18m stuff! But I love to dress them alike. They can't argue about it yet so I figure, why not?

Happy birthday! :banana::banana:

If I have two boys I know I will totally be dressing them up alike when I can. :rotfl:
I was watching Lucas crawl all over the house tonight and man! they really do grow up too fast. It seems like yesterday he was the itty bitty (okay, itty bitty might be a bit crazy of a description for Lucas! :rotfl:) little baby that barely moved. Now he's ALL over the house, leaving a path of destruction behind him... all the bottom DVD shelves in the living room are empty from tonight. The bottom shelf in the kitchen (I store plastic bottles of stuff- mostly juice)... practically empty, he was pulling the jugs of juice off and rolling them across the floor while we made dinner. It's crazy to watch.
Especially because I know I am so screwed as he gets older... if he's already so destructive I am totally in for it! :scared1:

LOL yeah Amelia is a path of destruction as well. She LOVES the dishwasher, I can't empty or fill it when she's awake LOL.

Another vote for the ERGO! I also have a Mei Tai (which sounds like a yummy umbrella drink, but is really an Asian-style baby carrier) that I got from Mei Tai Baby and I love it just as much!! Been using it since about 7 weeks. My son just snuggles up and konks out asleep. And I have free hands. :)

Hello all & welcome to the moms that have just joined us (or just found their way over to us.) :goodvibes

On dressing kids alike... I never in a million years thought I would, but I really like buying & having the twins wear matchy b/g outfits. Obviously they're not exactly alike, but if I can get the same outfit in blue & in pink, hehe, they're wearing 'em. At least while they are still too young to object. I'm sure they'll object eventually.

What a day yesterday! We had Elliott's baptism, so that meant running around like crazy in the morning trying to get things ready. On top of that, DH was packing for his two week deployment to Key West and DSD was packing to go visit her mom's family. The baptism was wonderful. Elliott was adorable (I will try and get pics up later). My sister made an AWESOME Noah's Ark cake for a reception at church. Then we went to my mom's house for dinner. Had a great time with all of our family.

The really stressful part came last night. DSD's flight was delayed in leaving for Atlanta. It was supposed to leave at 6:40, and I don't think it left until almost quarter to 8! She got into Atlanta, but her connecting flight was already closed (it was about 10:45 our time at this point). So, my 16 year old DSD spent the night in the airport!! She said there were a lot of people that were going to be there overnight in the terminal area she was in. I told her to find a family and kind of stay around by them, and to stay away from scary looking people, and to just use her judgement. She texted me this morning at about 5:30 our time and said they were just getting ready to board the plane, and that she had slept about an hour in the airport, and she was really really REALLY bored!! So, needless to say, my sleep was on and off, worrying about her. Luckily, Elliott has been sleeping really well lately, so that helped!

Does anyone here have one of the carriers, like a Baby Bjorn or anything like that? Does it help to soothe your baby and do you like using it? I'm just curious. Normally after a feeding DD is very restless and won't go down for a nap. I think that if I was to carry her around she might calm down. I would hate to think that it's colic! yikes!

How about dry skin on baby's face. I googled about it and heard that Lansinoh works well. Anyone use this?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

We LOVE our baby K'tan baby carrier, it is GREAT! I cannot say enough about it!

For dry skin (and baby acne) we use(d) Aquaphor and it works WONDERS!

I'm looking at one of the Baby Bjorn's. It has gotten some good reviews and I think it would be fun to carry her around. I guess it's worth a try!

Did you buy one yet?

I have a BECO, which is very similar to the Ergo (I'm borrowing one of those to try too). I'm planning on bringing it to WDW in August. I also have a Hotsling and a Solarveil pouch. :thumbsup2 I have a Bjorn too. We hate the Bjorn. BECOs and Ergo's are very similarly priced to the Bjorns and SOOOO much better.

I can give you lots more info if you need it.

:scared1: Crazy!! Glad everything went okay!

We had a good weekend. DH decided I can keep the Maclaren. He came in the room and I apologized for buying it without discussing it more first before he had the chance to tell me I could keep it. He was very happy with that. lol So it's all good.

Lily has been an angel all weekend. But her poops...ahhhhahhhhhh :scared1: way more solid and so stinky compared with her old ones! It doesn't seem to bother her at all, but blech. On the other hand, we haven't had a blowout for a while, so I guess it's a trade off.

Alex is still on strike. Saturday was so hard for me. He nursed at night only and then 7:30am he started to fight me. I tried giving him a sippy cup and by then he was so hungry he didn't want to work for it. I broke down and gave a bottle. Then the same thing at 2p and 6p and bedtime. He finally nursed at 9pm (in the "I'm asleep but partially awake enough to eat stage"). Same thing on Sunday and this morning. I'm hoping it's just teeth. I really don't want to wean this early! :sad1:

How many months is he?

I hope he gives it up soon!

So anyone following the Jesse James/Sandra Bullock story? I guess Jesse's supposed mistress is Michelle Mcgee. I went to high school with her! She's trying to say she's 24, but she's 2 years older than me, so 32.

I just scanned our high school yearbook, so I can send it to TMZ. :rotfl:

Elliott is done with nursing now. When I got sick when he was 2 weeks old, my milk supply really went down, and never went back up again, and he would just become frustrated with it. I was still doing before bed and first thing in the morning up until Friday morning. Oh well, we tried to make a go of it!!

Bummer. Congrats on making it this long! :thumbsup2

Hi everyone!
I'm relatively new here and wanted to introduce myself! How wonderful to have a bunch of women who can talk about the life of motherhood! I should have thought to look at this when I was soooo depressed several weeks ago! Good thing that passed (sleep helps), but then I got sad again when I had to return to work. :guilty: Oh well, one day closer to summer vacation.
Sarah, that is hilarious! I watch TMZ in the am when I pump, so I hope they show it!

Welcome!! I suffered through some mommy blues in the beginning. It still creeps up every once in a while. We have a bunch of new mommies right now, so you'll fit right in!
