The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

Hi ladies! I haven't posted here in oh.... about 7 months since my little man was born. Things have been quite crazy with an infant and the fact that we are due with a baby girl in August! Irish Twins!! I can't believe I have a 7 month old and am 4 months pregnant. Hope you all have been well, I can't believe how big all the babies are!

WOW! Congratulations!!

That is so exciting! DH is a federal employee too and his military time helped a ton! He gets more sick/vacation time than other people who are just starting out. I think it equates to over 5 weeks a year, which is insane for someone just starting with a company, imho.

Melissa, that is exciting! You are going to have your hands full even worse than I am! :rotfl:

We delay. She's had a handful, we get 1 or 2 a month though when she's sick we skip it. She goes at the end of the month so I'll talk to her new ped about what we are going to do. I'm not opposed to vaxes, I just think it's too many (compared to what we got) but I would like her fully vaxed by school age.

That is part of why we have delayed - it is insane how much they have increased since I was a baby - and I have a friend that has 6 kiddos - from her first to her LO the number has significantly increased. I am going to follow the Dr. Sear's schedule - though a little more delayed because she is 5 months and we haven't done any yet. He said we could start next month and I think we'll start Rotavirus this month.

All in all, I'm REALLY glad that I took him.

..now I've got a TON of laundry to go do that is covered in vomit.

The staff there seems amazing - what a wonderful hospital you've got there!

I saw on FB that he's doing better - so glad!

CONGRATS!! HOW EXCITING! I almost wish I could, but I want to try for a VBAC so I have to wait for next January to start trying!

They're making you wait, Adi?

I'm still amazed my OB would let me do one in August. No thanks, though...

And yes.. I LOVE that hospital. Just reinforces my decision to hold out and deliver there, even if I have to go get my tubes tied at the other hospital sometime in the future. At least that is an outpatient procedure. :)

Miami is the c-section capital of the world, so it is hard to find a Dr. that will do a VBAC at all, so they like for you to wait (they say two years between deliveries or more is safest). The Dr. reccomended to me by my midwife likes 2 years in between, so the soonest I could get PG is January next year. . . hopefully it doesn't take long, I don't want my kiddos too far apart. The main reason I want to try a VBAC is that we'd really like 3 or 4 kids (maybe more, I don't know, I'm really going to take it one at a time), and I know it gets harder and harder with each c-section.

You are so right to wait to do your tubal, because that hospital where you will delivery peanut sounds AMAZING!

Man, that stinks!!

I should just loan you my OB. ;)

3 or 4?! You're a braver woman than I! I know what you mean about wanting them close, though. I wanted them close, too!! I think 2 is my max though if this is a boy I'll probably be begging DH for "just one more!"...

Hi there :goodvibes Hope it's ok to join this thread. I gave birth 3 weeks ago to our adorable daughter. (wow! 3 weeks already!). I was on the moms to be thread and loved being able to ask questions and vent there. I hope this board is the same way! :lmao: I feel like I have questions all the time as this is our first. So hope no one minds!

I am excited except I am loosing my in home daycare. :rotfl: My dad will do a good job though. DH did 4 years in the Marines prior to us. I hope he gets a good amount of time also, 5 weeks is awesome.

I just tried that Neli Rinse. Very strange, not sure if it helped the pressure or made it worse.

DH works for the Treasury but I would imagine that leave works the same for all federal employees..

I think with 5 years of service you get 6 hours of leave and 4 hours of sick leave every pay period (2 weeks).. if DH were here I'd double check with him but I'm pretty sure that is how much he gets. I'll ask when he gets back from the gym to be sure. I have no idea where his benefit book is. That thing is massive! I looked at it enough to pick our health insurance and then I filed it away somewhere...

DH was in the Marine Corps, too... from 01-06... so he got "rated" at 5 yrs prior service.

Patsy...my hubby was the one who suggested one more, knowing how bad I would have liked a girl and look...3 boys. Mind you, he's one of 11 grandkids, 2 sisters and the rest girl cousins!!

I'm glad lucas is feeling better! How scary!

I had 3 via csection and my OB told me he wouldn't recommend another, but if I wanted one he would support me. The way I scar isn't so good and it took him a long time to get to CJ when I had my last csection. I was in the OR over an hour and 1/2. He had to put tons of netting in to try and help w/scarring, etc. He told me straight out, if the emergency was CJ and not me, he wasn't sure if he would have made it to him intime. That was enough for me to say ok, but I was already good w/3.

Well, I'm very happy w/CJ's daycare. They've been going outside and on their walks and they always have his epipen with them. One of his part time teachers asked me today if he was definately allergic to bees I told her we didn't know, but due to his mastocytosis, it is highly likely he'll have a severe reaction. They had a cpr/first aid class 2 days after I brought in epipen. They trained the entire staff on it! They had staff members that were trained w/kids in the their classrooms, but now, they are all trained! Including my babysitter who works there :) I just need to show her where we have it at our house when we go out on datenight tomorrow night!

WOW! Congratulations!!

Thank you!!

Oh wow, I just noticed your ticker!!! Was that planned or a surprise like mine? :rotfl:

Thank you! I think it's worth it to try for a VBAC. We are having a home water birth this time around, I can't wait. The hospital sucked so much.

Melissa, what is your due date?

This one is a surprise. They've both sorta been surprises but Lucas less so... :)

$3 off coupon for Huggies on Coupons.com! I couldn't find it under my zip but did under 90210.

Sarah, ever eaten at Blue Mountain in Twinsburg? If not, it's an awesome place for Sunday brunch! (We are going Sunday and just wanted to make sure you knew about it!)
eta: the restaurant, not the fact that we were going... :teeth:
Good Morning!!! It's FRIDAY!!!

Never heard of it. Hope you have a blast!

OMG and Congrats!!! I've heard wonderful things about having them so close. It's hard in the beginning, but awesome all in all!

How are you feeling?

Welcome!!! Just jump right in with whatever you need! We definitely like to vent and share our experiences! We have a few active members with LOs under 2 months and then a lot of us more experienced moms. :rotfl: And then we've got Patsy and Melissa who are soon to be both!:thumbsup2

Got my Maclaren. I really like it! I want to take it for a test drive at the mall, but DH is being a jerk and wants me to get rid of it still. I think I'm slowly convincing him that it's not as bad as he thinks. He said he's going to show me how nice the cheapo unbrella's are at BRU tomorrow and that we should just get one of those. lol

I think he realizes how unreasonable he's being though.

Thanks for sharing! This is exactly why we want VBACS :)

We are considering doing a home birth, one of the midwives at the MMC does VBACS at home. But they've also recommended an OBGYN that does them (Palmetto Hospital in Hialeah) and I found another group of OBGYNs that does them (Baptist Hospital in Kendall). Either way, I'm determined not to get bullied into another c-section like I was this time.

Adi- Did the BioGaia ever come in?

NO! Ugh, I've ordered from several pharmacies around here and it hasn't - so i am going to have to order online, they only ship mon - wed, so I think I'll just order Monday. I REALLY want to start these! She has been doing better on her own lately, but still, this are great for more than just gas :)

Get him, Sarah! I could see that cheapo umbrella breaking at WDW and him wanting to eat his words (aren't stroller rentals there something ridiculousl ike $35/day?!). It seems like anyone asks about a touring stroller for WDW Maclarens get tons of props on this board!!

I wish I could break mine out but I won't have much use for it for awhile! :rotfl: DH put it in the basement last night.
We're headed out shopping! DH woke up and decided he wanted T-shirts and said I should get new stuff, too. Not sure where that came from but I'm excited, he hardly ever wants to go to the mall!!!! Woohoo!!

Lucas is feeling much better so my parents are taking him tonight. My dad has been on business trips for the last two weeks so he's really missed him. haha. Then my MIL is taking him Thursday night. Boy is getting a double dose of grandparents this week!!

*eta* My Pucchini hipster came in today with my new Raspberry Fizz wallet. I think I'm going to rock it at the mall!! haha

I saved a couple of those "what's the best park stroller" threads when I was researching. I'll have to pull up my file.

I have to admit that I think I still like the Baby Jogger better, but the Mac was at least $60 cheaper than I could find it for and Macs last longer height wise. And I think the Mac has a much smaller turning radious for shopping.

Have fun shopping!!
