The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

When in August are you going to Disney Amanda?
ETA --wait you went last year right? I remember seeing your TR.

That's so funny, Sarah! :rotfl: Why would she try to fake her age? Don't people think someone would recognize them? I feel so bad for Sandra.

Welcome amandaluvsgoofy. :goodvibes

Sorry BabyTigger99 about Elliott. It can be so frustrating.

yellowfish78, I had a huge nursing strike with my first born. It lasted about 5 days. He refused to nurse except in the morning or at bedtime. I just kept offering and he would shove me away and scream. I didn't give up and just kept reminding him it was still there for him. He eventually came back like nothing happened and kept going until 12 months.

ETA: They just showed the mistress on Inside Edition. They said she tried to claim she was Amish too.

There's a great article from people with pics:

She obviously thought no one would recognize her.

Hi everyone, hope it's not too late for me to join you all. I know it's been a while. Evan was born on November 19, 2009 at 11:19 pm and weighted 9lbs 1oz and was born via Emergency C-section...they let me labor for 36 hours with little progression. Needless to say I was unhappy, I figured I'd end up with a C-Section from the very beginning but no one would listen to me. I was ok with the idea of the C-Section, but I realized days later afterwards just how upset that I didn't get to "see" him being born. It was like one minute he was in me and next he was out. They didn't even tell me they were starting the surgery so I was totally out of it.

Hope all the Mommies and Babies are doing well and congrats to those who have just had their babies and are expecting another baby as well!

Kristen

I don't have a photobucket account as of yet do I don't know if I can post pictures on here yet, but I do have a facebook, PM if you're interested.

I called the pediatrician today to see if they wanted to see Lucas... ER asked me to follow up with the pedi.

They wanted to, especially since I was in the building to see my OB, so we headed up there.

Turns out he has a bad ear infection now. So I'm glad I took him in. Poor baby has had a rough week of things!
He wasn't up for another stop so when DH gets home I've got to go get his prescription. Then we get to go back to the pediatrician. The checkout lady struck again.. the NP we saw told me to bring him back in 3 weeks but she said she was making it for 4 weeks. Whatever, lady. I just had her make it the same day as my next OB appointment, as least then it's only one trip...

Does anyone here have one of the carriers, like a Baby Bjorn or anything like that? Does it help to soothe your baby and do you like using it? I'm just curious. Normally after a feeding DD is very restless and won't go down for a nap. I think that if I was to carry her around she might calm down. I would hate to think that it's colic! yikes!

How about dry skin on baby's face. I googled about it and heard that Lansinoh works well. Anyone use this?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

I had a bjorn, and I made a mei tai. I love the mei tei!! I can still use it. My husband preferred the bjorn. It was just easier for him to use. So he carried one baby in that, and I took the other baby in the mei tai, I also have a sling, but I couldnt get the hang of using it when mine were teeny. I use it alot now that I can do a hip carry with them. I need another one, so I can carry them both!

Sounds like you need to talk to Patsy. Her situation was similar.

Welcome!! I'm Sarah Posey Vargo on FB! I love having DISmom friends!

Poor little guy! Ear infections scare me! The thought of my baby in pain without me knowing why. I'm surprised the ER didn't pick up on the ear infection. Does he have to take antibiodics?

Stupid checkout lady!:headache:

When is your ultrasound?

He's 6 months last Monday.

Sarah - that is too funny! I'll have to look at TMZ when I get home tonight. :rotfl:

6 month olds don't wean themselves, have you looked at info on kellymom.org about nursing strikes? Can you not do bottles and try to do sippy's instead? Good luck, I hope he gets back to nursing fulltime soon!

I hope he gives it up soon!

So anyone following the Jesse James/Sandra Bullock story? I guess Jesse's supposed mistress is Michelle Mcgee. I went to high school with her! She's trying to say she's 24, but she's 2 years older than me, so 32.

I just scanned our high school yearbook, so I can send it to TMZ. :rotfl:

OMG-is this the tattoo freak? Was she that weird in school? And she is trying to pass herself off as 8 yrs younger!:rotfl:

You all have been talkative today. Welcome to the new moms! And amen to one day closer to summer. I take it that poster is a teacher, too? We get out 9 wks from Thursday, and I leave for WDW 70 days from today!

I have an Ergo, but never really got the hang of baby wearing. It is in the back of my SUV. I do want to practice with it some for WDW.

My oldest sister's best friend from school killed herself today. Her husband went home at lunch and found her. So sad. They had one son, in high school. Very sweet kid. She has been depressed for years. My sister said she had been calling her for 2 wks and she wouldn't answer or call her back. That is usually a sign of her depression being worse. She was 47. The older I get the younger that is.:sad1:

Lucas is fine, he hasn't acted different at all. Not like he was in pain, hasn't been fussy. He's been happy actually! Smiley and rotten.
Until she tried to look into his ear, he screamed like crazy then. We had to hold him down (my friend was with me!)... :sad1: She did say some act like nothing is wrong and others come in howling like crazy, just depends on the kid.

He didn't have the ear infection when we went to the ER. He'd seen the pediatrician's NP (the same one I saw today) earlier that day and she told me that upper respiratory stuff will move through little ones quickly... She checked his ears really well and listened to him breathe but said lungs and ears were good. Just the bad cough that day. It was almost a week ago, too.

She said it moves really quick... and it's only one ear. So that is good.
He'll be on Amoxicillin for 10 days.

My cousin's 2yr old was admitted to the hospital last night with pneumonia. :sad2:Crap is going around, that is for sure...

Is the weather crazy for anyone else? Fri and Sat, it was in the 70s. Sun, it snowed all day (random flurries) and got up to 38. Today it got up to a cold 50. Tomorrow is supposed to be 70 again.:confused3

Sarah, your other thread didn't go over too well. Apparently, normal can't be defined anymore!:rotfl2:

Looked at kellymom. We've been trying sippy cups but 1. he gets EBM bottles at day care and 2.when he's really hungry it's hard for him to concentrate on the sippy cup and it ends up being a toy I picked up some more sippy cups today for him for day care tomorrow to try...
He's running a low grade temp now so it has to be teeth. We still have no problems nursing at night.
I've stopped upsetting myself when he rejects me and am trying to be positive that he'll get back into the swing of things.

Welcome new moms!!!

She was totally normal in school! lmao You know that already. She played soccer, was on the honor roll and was even a cheerleader one year.

So sad about your DSis's friend!:sad1:

Thanks for explaning all of that. I'm sick kid clueless. How do you give him the medicine?

Weather isn't quite that crazy here.

Before I posted the thread I thought it might take a weird turn, but holy moley! That was hilarious. Now it's onto porn?! :scared1:

Yes, we had the same. 65-70s all week. Then boom! Snow all night Friday into Saturday morning. It's not crazy for me to have snow for my birthday but it hasn't happened in a long time. My son wanted to get the sled back out.

Cute pictures of Katie, btw! :goodvibes

Thanks:goodvibes. She isn't feeling too good right now. I had to hold her while I ate. She screamed in her high chair and didn't eat a bite. She is snuggled up against me right now.

I'm watching Entertainment Tonight. The woman who wants to weigh 1000lbs is on. I guess I can't call that abnormal either.

I just remembered something. Our spring break just ended (back to work today). Last year we had a really pretty spring break. I bought a new couch that week, and put the old one in the yard with a for sale sign on it. My sister's friend was out here reading (we live in the city park) and saw it. She bought it and called her husband and son to come and pick it up. :(

Boy, it's storming here really well! I haven't seen lightning like this since... :rotfl: spring last year! It's so nice!

A syringe thingie from the pharmacy... I don't know how I'm going to do it by myself, though. He HATED it!

I had to shove it in his mouth, squeeze some out and hold his mouth shut so he'd swallow it.
I wasn't completely successful... he oozed some back out and now has a giant pink stain on his outfit.

He's 100% acting like normal, though. Destroying things in the living room.

I'm trying to get the motivation to write a film review. I have to write it on a movie from 19-45yrs age group and talk about 5 psychological factors. I'm doing Remember Me the terrible movie we saw this weekend.. but just not getting motivated to actually do it. Ugh.

Sarah, I don't want to jump in the other thread (what a mess! I didn't read much past the first page!) but I know Jessica Lynch and Paul Dooley.

I'm betting no one knows who they are anymore, though. :rotfl:

The thread has mostly recovered I think. People are mostly staying on topic. A few posters are trying to keep things stirred up though!

If you can find a way to give Lucas meds without making a mess and getting it all over both of you, please share it! Katie is awful about meds!

Have I mentioned that I HATE statistics. 7 more weeks until I get my degree........

Hahahaha I'm sorry about statistics!
I was just looking at our fall schedule. There are 2 classes I can take online which I might do if the teachers are OK with me being absent the second week of classes.

I really wish I could take one or two of the ones I need at the college but it's not a good idea.. it'd be weeks into the semester before I could drive myself and sit in one position that long and actually pay attention. :( I'm also worried about baby blues again. Ugh. What a crappy time to be due. :rotfl:
