It depends on what boat you catch. If you catch the little boat with the blue flag then it goes direct. The Contempoary boat stops at 10pm.

If anyone wants to ask me anything, I know everything about WL as I was there this time last week!! :Pinkbounc

There was a rumor on another thread that the boat from WL to the Contemporary is no longer operating. Please confirm that this is not true.

Thank you.

Cannot wait to go back to our favorite----WL here we come!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot say anything! There was not a rumour when I was there and I don't remember it to be true.
Have a nice time!!!

Does the boat go straight from WL to Contemporary or does it have to make other stops?
Yes, It goes from WL to the contempoary and then carries on to Fort Wilderness !!!!!

:sunny:

Giving the opportunity, at Christmas time, would you want a courtyard view or lobby view room?

you could try to get both...there are rooms in the "Bear Face" that open to the lobby and have main pool/courtyard view...They are my favorite...if you can't get those, I say take just the courtyard...very nice views!!

Hi Everyone! After numerous stays at FtW cabins, I am staying one night over at VWL before our cruise next April. Just wanted to say how excited I am to be joining the WL Vets come next year!!!!! :cool1:

Thanks for all the information Fred - I have been lurking on your threads for years now. NOW is my chance To Experience what you have been raving about!!!!

I have one question that I have searched the thread for the answer to so hopefully I am not making anyone repeat themselves. Since we are in the villas, I know that we have no chance of seeing fireworks - BUT, what is the view like from the boat dock or from the beach? Do they pipe in the music anywhere on the property? We are planning on hightailing it over to the Poly to see them the one night we are on property, but if we could stay put, that would be awesome!

Unfortunately, you won't see the fireworks at all from the villas and I doubt you will see them well if at all from the beach. The music for Wishes is not piped out anywhere at WL as far as I can remember.

Take the time and head over to the Poly and watch it from the boat docks. (Perhaps after dinner at Kona or Ohana. That's what we do.)

It's what we do time and time again for the best view of Wishes. They pipe the music outside there too. I always tell my oldest that Tink is making the fireworks just for her. Talk about magic....let me stop before I get all mushy. :)

Yup - us too. But I haven't used the Tink line yet. I will have to save that for this trip. Thanks for the advice and quick answer (you know I must have this all answered by 8 months out - just gotta have it all planned ;) ) - bummer we can't just relax after a dinner at WCC.

Hi!
I'm traveling witha large group (as many as 15 people), including my elderly Mom and dh's elderly Dad. We will be relying on bus transportation and are struggling to pick the right resort. We have stayed at WL before, but never used bus service. So how is it? What resorts does it share with? In what order does wl get picked up. If my Mom and FIL will not get a seat on the bus at WL, then staying at wl will be out of the question. I've already eliminated YC/BC and Swan/Dolphin due to bad bus service. So now my choices are POFQ, CBR, CSR, AKL or WL. So what do you think of the bus service?

What a great idea. Thanks, I think we will try that on this trip.

We just got back from our third stay there and the bus system was running smoothly. The ride to MK took about three minutes and a few times we were the only ones on the bus. Going to MK and returning from MK is a direct route with no other stops. You can also choose to take the ferry to MK. It's a relaxing trip, but usually the boat picked us up and then went to Fort Wilderness before proceeding to MK.

To EPCOT: Again the bus wasn't crowded. I think we went to Fort Wilderness before continuing to EPCOT. All the trips start to run together, so I hope I'm accurate.
To Downtown Disney: This seemed to take forever to get there. I would suggest grabbing a cab. It would be well worth the money for the time you save. We stopped at Polynesian, GF, and Blizzard Beach (I think) Some routes do stop at a water park, but I'm not sure if it was on this one or the EPCOT route. The bus seemed to take the longest route possible to get there.

The WL bus was never crowded except when returning from Downtown Disney. (A thunderstorm had started.)Some people were good about offering a seat to those that seemed to need it.

Because of its smaller size, I think you will be pleased with the transportation. Good luck.

Thanks for updating on bus service! The quality of bus service will determine where we stay, so I appreciate the info!

Thank you for an incredible resource! Everything we need at our fingertips!:flower3:

We (DH, myself, DS8, DS4, DD6mo) will be arriving 11/27 thru 12/3. I read about a lobby view room with a courtyard view. Do these rooms have balconies? What is the view of? We have a courtyard room booked with abunk bed request. Both DSs will celebrate a birthday also and it was noted on the ressie. Thanks for the help!

I am a Wilderness Lodge convert! I love the WL!!! It is the first time when I see other people's pictures of places at the WL that I feel the NEED to return HOME!!

I absolutely LOVE this place.

We changed our ressies for December from AKL to WL. My two DDs enjoyed the "river" in the lobby. Everytime we were in the lobby the two year old would go to see her "ribbet" and then she would say "bye bye ribbet, see you later!".
She would also want to "build a house" everytime we approached Whispering Canyon...funny how neither one of them wanted anything to do with Lincoln Logs at home....

I have reserved a Concierge Level for December--just have not told DH... He thinks we are staying in the woods view again.... :)

Yes they all have balconies and the Views are of the inner Courtyard overlooking Hidden Springs, the Waterfall, Pool and Bay Lake the following are a few photo's from our lobby/courtyard room.

I just wanted to be sure that everyone knows that the buses to all resorts from downtown DIsney all are always crowded and take forever. You will find this to be so for all resorts.

Also, I think that ChipandDale Express (Tyler) may have updated some of the busing information and they are trying a direct bus from WL (not sharing with FtW) - if this is this true it may be a huge difference for you and your decision.

Also keep in mind that you can easily get over to the TTC by either boat, which are handicap accessible, or by bus and from there take the monorail to two of the parks. We would go over from FtW to the Contemporary and from there get to Epcot.
