Sorry it took so long but I went back and found my most resent Wilderness Adventures (you will receive this information sheet when you check-in) It has Duck Races on Upper Silver Creek Sunday, Wednesday and Saturday at 3:00pm.

Hello everyone!!

We return to WL in 41 Days. (Not that I'm counting!! ;)

Last year I ended up drinking Coke in the AM because I can't stand that Nescafe stuff that Disney calls coffee. :confused3 Is there anywhere at WL that sells real coffee? I'm thinking something like the Kona coffee that you can buy at the Poly.

I know that I could pack my own but it would be nice not to have to worry about it.

Thanks MagicInMyHeart! Unfortunately hose days won't work for us but I'll check my package to see if there's a change.

Now I've got a totally unrelated question. Is it possible to buy food at Roaring Forks and take it out to eat by the pool?

Sure you can, we have done this many times. But a word of caution:
The wonderful birds that live at Wilderness Lodge are very aggressive and will swooped down and try and steal your food.

How do you get to and from the Poly AND Grand Floridian from WL? Thanks!

We are looking foward to our first stay at Wilderness Lodge!

I'm wondering this too. We'll take the Monorail from MK to Ohanas and see Wishes from there, but how to best get home to WL? I'm thinking there will be a mass exodus from MK so we wouldn't want to catch the boat there. Maybe monorail to Contemporary and then boat to WL? Does it work that way? TIA Also looking forward to 1st trip to WL/WDW!!

That's what I would do!!!

We have decided to attend the movie at Fort Wilderness. Can someone please tell me if we will be able to charge our snacks and smore kit on our resort card or will we need to bring cash. If the movie starts at 8:00, what time should we plan on arriving. Will Chip and Dale and the smores be before 8:00 or does it ALL start at 8:00.

Thanks!

That's what I would do, too, as long as it's not too late for the boats to be running. Their schedule may change seasonally. During summer months, I believe the boat went between the CR and WL/FW until about 10:00pm. After that you would have to Monorail over to MK and they either get on the boat there, or get on the bus to WL. If there is a big line for the boat, check out the bus....that ride is very short (to WL anyway) and might make the trip quicker.

Hello. I have been 'referred' to the Dis Boards by my best friend who is ADDICTED (Hi Patty! )

I am trying to plan a trip for 5 people (myself, my boyfriend and his daughter and my parents) and could use any advice you are willing to offer. (Right now we are looking at booking at the Wilderness Lodge).

I was told I better not just book it through a travel agent without coming here for 'consulting' first as there are lots of things to learn about planning a Disney trip.

It has been almost 18 years since I've last been so any useful hints on lodging, shows, dining, transportation, park passes, special things (ie: flag family request), etc. would be most helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the disboards :) Go to the very first page of this thread and read the first several posts. It has a lot of the information you are asking for. If you have anymore specific questions after reading there then ask away... There are a lot of very helpful people here on this thread ready to help you. We leave for our first trip to WL one week from tomorrow!

First WELCOME to the DIS and The Wilderness Lodge FAQ Thread

The best advise I can give you for the Lodge is to visit the first page and read the first four post this has quite a lot of information we have collected over the last few years.

Then start reading the post and threads venture over to the other DIS Forums check on the Parks, Resorts, Dining, DVC, Transportation, Discounts, read about as much as you can.

1.)The first thing to do is decide when you want to travel. (dates) and for how long will your stay be.

2.)Next is a easy one where do you want to stay? (WL) What kind of accommodations do you need for 5 guest...two rooms, a deluxe room, a Villa at VWL. (Room information located on page 1)

3.)Depending on how long the trip will be will then determine the type of tickets. Do you want to visit any of the Waterparks or Pleasure Island? (an Annual Pass would give you Resort, Dinning and Merchandise discounts) Are you a Florida resident? Great discounts if you are.

This should get you started...Ask any questions you may have about the Lodge here, You may also PM me if you have other questions.

Have fun

OK - trick quesion - I went to a home -stuff party last night and they had an old fashioned dinner bell in the catalog - but it was only 4" or so -
SO now I decided I want one of those BIG ones like they have at Whispering Canyon - did anyone notice if they actually sold them in the merchantile? Or know where I can find one of those big old annoying things ;)
the new neighbors will really love me :rotfl:
